Ed remembers when the Dad/Husband was the primary one who worked/supported his family. That's part of the Greatest Generation ❤ they continue to express concern for their family

Many years ago, when I was in school, I worked in the recreation department of a nursing home. It was actually a really wonderful job to have during school. Since the majority of the patients suffered dementia, and typically had short attention spans, we put lots of coffee table books around because the photos were good distractions and conversation starters. Maybe you could find ones about national parks, beautiful destinations around the world, etc. You can find lots of heavily discounted ones online or at Barnes and Noble clearance. Also, cook books with beautiful photographs work, too. Just set up small stacks around the house that will catch his attention. It will help his boredom and help you engage in conversation. ❤
when i worked in nursing homes, it always struck me that even if the resident had lost all touch with reality, those who were genuinely kind continued to be so. it is a beautiful thing you are doing, Dan and Danielle and Grandpa Ed.
I really enjoyed this conversation between you two. He's so kind, ALWAYS concerned about how his family is doing. I love how you told him he taught you well. Your dad never fails to make me smile!!!!
Hope mom is ding ok and gets through without complications. Absolutely love Ed and it warms my heart to see how you and Danielle take such wonderful care of him.
