I have to ask, what is the reason for not being able to use it? I know in the US we have laws on certain colored lights being placed in certain ways so i figured it might be the turn signal.
Thanks for the video. The panel at 4:18 is a real bear to get out if you don't know the pull outward/pull upward trick that you describe. It sure is helpful to see what the clips look like on the panel and also the bike. And you're right it sure does sound like you broke something getting it out!
The first time I took it off I thought I just lost about a thousand dollars because i was gonna have to buy a new panel!! I thought for sure i cracked or busted something! Glad you liked the video and appreciate the support.
I hear you - same here! When I removed my right panel to change the lights out last year, I didn't have a video like yours to go off of..As a result I broke the plastic clip at the very tip of the panel (the one that goes into the L shaped channel in the bike frame). So now that corner sits up about 1/8 inch. Not very noticeable but it's there nonetheless. I may end up replacing the panel someday but like everything else on this bike, it's pricey (still love it though).
I hope you don't think this is a dumb question, but why is there a different install for the Limited? What is different about the Limited vs. the F3 in this regard? On a side note...your Spyder always looks so clean when you remove the plastic!! As usual, this is a great how to video, very detailed! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I love my LED headlights and fog lights! What a difference!
Not a dumb question at all. The older models have a lot of similarities between the f3, f3t and limited, not so on the newer ones. The side mirrors are modeled different and in some models the turn signal power source is different on the newer models compared to the f3 and f3s style. On the older models some models of the limited have different fenders and connection points than the f3's. I do try to keep my spyder as clean as possible so thanks for noticing.
Your videos have been a great help to me and I'm getting ready to do my first installs. I have the F3 LED headlights, F3 Fog Lights and F3 Arc Lights....I looked at the videos many many times, yours and SlingMods and it looks pretty easy when done individually. However I noticed in the video the fog light is connected to the wheel turning light in the wheel...however in the Headlight video it is ALSO connected to the same wheel turning signal connection...how does that work if the connection is already being used? I did purchase the power harnesses through SlingMods also. Would that have multiple connections I can use? I know there's an answer because I see they are ALL connected on in the videos. Thanks for any assistance given. Hope this makes sense...
Thank you for that and im glad they have been of help. Yes the harness kit is what you needed and glad you got it. In my led fog light cover install video at 0:46 i show the wiring. The picture on the right has the wiring you will need to connect both. Look at the picture and you will notice that the wiring with the red male connect has a clip that goes to the light plugs. You will need to unclip it and use the "Y" connectors for the headlight light and fog light then just clip a single male connector into the "Y" connector and that will work for both lights. You will also need to use a "Y" connection setup for the side mirror connection most likely. When everything gets connected dont panic if the lights dont work. For some reason the lights have to be connected to a certain side of the "Y" connectors. So just focus and switch them around and they should work. I really hope this all made sense and helps. Dont worry about trying connections a different way, as long as you dont have to force anything together you are connecting things ok.
I tried my best to show the breakdown of everything and how to install so hope if you do it yourself this makes it easier. The only part you have to be careful of is the nose piece. Super easy to break a tab but having the link in the description to see your part will hopefully help with it not happening to you. It is hard to make this kind of video entertaining for me so appreciate the comment!
I wish I was able to show every model type. A garage full of different spyders would be sweet!! The 2022 models are nice. Even though the body style didn't change a whole lot for 2022 and 2023 they seemed to fix lot of quirks and bugs that year. Enjoy the new lights, I think they look really nice.
When the motorcycle is running the headlights are on and also the little strip at the bottom of the headlights. When your ignition is on but the bike is not running only the strip is on. Hope that made sense and answered your question.
Would you happen to know what would be the cause for the daytime running light not working? Just my left running light is out, but signal and headlights work on it.
I hope this will help because it is hard to answer without me actually seeing it. I would check things in this order: 1. Check bulb or replace it just to make sure it is not the bulb. Usually the quickest way to check. Replacing bulb first even though it doesnt look bad is the best thing to do. Also replace both at the same time if you can. 2. Check fuses. If not bad still take out and reset. 3. Wiring. Depending on age of bike may have a break, burn through, or loose connection. Check as much as you can. Having a volt meter helps with finding breaks if you know how to use. If your knowledgable about mechanic work, most mechanic manuals have the wiring diagram in them. This helps trace the wire. These 3 steps will usually find a quick answer. Any other diagnostic than this is more detailed and should be done by a BRP mechanic, unless you really know what your doing. Again, hope this helps!
@@willblanco4531 im glad you said Tric Led as i wasnt thinking about the company and thought you were asking about the RT lights (Sorry about that) when you commeted before. The reason is this... My headlight i bought work great so far but my left fog light has never properly worked. The Day glo led works but not the fog light itself. Have replaced it twice and still doesnt work. I bought it for the running light anyhow is why I dont take it off. I bought it through Slingmods whuch it came from TricLED. They do make good products but seem to have this as a common problem. Before doing a bunch of work i would send the light back for a replacement. I waited to long to return mine now. The chances that you can fix it are probably not gonna happen because it is most likely from the factory an issue. Im glad you mentioned TricLED and sorry again about not putting 2 and 2 together that you were asking about this specific headlight.
@@MOABMAN Ahhh, I'm glad you mentioned that - I was losing my mind 😆. I'll reach out to Slingmods to let them know before it's too late. Thanks again and love all your videos
Thank you for the support and comment! Sorry again that the first comment from me was a misunderstanding of what you had asked. If you get a replacement and still have the same problem after hooking it up, email me at: moab.man@yahoo.com I can help you out better than through comments. It is possible to wire these wrong if you get the wrong connectors and hook up incorrectly. If this happens to you, i would need picturs to help you out better and can share picture as well to help you pin point the problem. I cant promise an immediate response by email but will get back to you within a day or 2.
At 12:23 i start to talk about that. Several models have different ways and i show some pictures but it is best to go to the link in my description. Hope this helped. Thanks for watching and comment!!
@@cleanrightcutright-mobiled2224it is a little tricky. Most models have 2 screws. One at the bottom closest to the frunk and the second bolt is up top closest to the dash panel. You have to remove both bolts first then try to pull straight out and just a little down. Hope this helped
There is no information on the lifespan when i bought it and tried to find it. If it helps any most of the time the led bulbs usually last 50000 hours. I am not saying that is for sure, but this is kind if a industry standard. I have had mine for 4 years now and no issues and they still look like new. Online some similar brands show 30000 hours. Very good catch and thanks for paying that much attention. I have the LED fender lights that hook to the same area. I had to purchase a y connecter that allows multiple hookups. When i did the video i was worried if i show and talk about that much it would confuse or make people think that was part of the lights. I figured i would answer the questions instead through comments if someone asked like you just did. If you follow my video it will get just the lights referred to connected. I hope that makes sense and please dont think i was trying to trick anyone so to speak.
@@bbarnette07 at 9:42 in the video the wires that i show are easily confused when you go to plug in to the lights. Try switching the connectors. So the long wire with the male connector goes to Spyder light connection and the short male connector goes to the headlight and then the female plug goes to the side mirror. The plugs that go to the light and spyder are the same connectors so you can get them mixed up/switched. I think this will be of help.
I have not experienced anything like that and havent heard anyone mention that happening. If they do make any noise afterward something may be wrong with more than the lights so i recommend geting it looked at or return them. I know some older LED headlights (mainly for cars) had a small fan to keep them cool but i dont believe these have anything like that. They are to expensive for me to take apart and see though.
That’s a good way I show the new comer how to put heir own light in thank you, and step by step to

Great idea on the tips and tricks!
Not having the screws drop is the biggest thing to be careful of. You can loose them in the front very easily!

I will have another one out, probably in January where I just show how to change the bulbs only and not put on a whole new light assembly.
