    Chocolate cake, chocolate cake or chocolate cake, is an internationally known dessert, which became popular in the late 19th century and is frequently served at gatherings such as birthday parties and weddings. In 1900, the first recipe for a cake made with dark chocolate appeared. There are many theories as to why it was given that name, none of which is definitive, but the most widely accepted one suggests, humorously, that "the cake is so delicious that it should be considered a sin."
