Love bites is one way for a cat to show affection. If those bites were meant to hurt then you would have lost your arm there and maybe died of blood loss.

My baby boy (he’s almost 10 now) does the same thing, but in the beginning he was a little more aggressive like this. The first he did this, it hurt and I smacked him. But he learned quick after the first time. He tried again but I told him no, yet every time afterwards, his bite got extremely gentle after he knew biting hard was not ok. Whittled down to a true love bite, as gentle as his soul. He likes to bite the nose for some reason now but it’s cute 🥰
My male cat does the same thing. He's 9 this year. He'll rub his face on my hand/arm and always gets around to gnawing on my index/middle finger. It's like he's tasting my finger/skin, but every now and then the bastard WILL bite just a tad too hard. 😻🤣😍
Play biting, should not be taken as aggression but still some people do. Cats don't have hands to interact with the world so they use their mouth and claws. If cats actually wanted to do you harm they would put holes in your skin really easily.
No, same behaviour with children: you startet cuddeling the cat. Then she wanted you to cuddle her on the head, (like the mothercats) you did not, so the Cat Acts like you just wanted to annoy her. (Bites) - f. e.: Child cries because "Lack of Interaction", Parents interpret "hunger" - give food.. child has difficulties in adulthood with "right" emotional needs. ... same thing. 😢😊❤
I only can guess. BUT your cat is very excited, and it is a little frustrated, it dont want to hurt you, but it cant stop this instinct. The worse to do is to bark at the cat. My cat also dit it. Auutch. It hurt a lot, and funny and stupid it was, i had some claw marks. Not bite marks. It also happened when i pet the cat to much. It loves you. Marking its sent at first. Than it went a little to far. My cat did not like to be outside. Lazy, but not a fool. It owns you. When the cat brings you gifts. It only says. You cant hunt, ill show you, i love you only because you give me a home and food, and pet me, WHEN I WANT. But i did some thing to please the cat. I know it sounds a little cruel. In the pet shop i bought some lab mice. And let the cat enjoy it selves. YES i solved the problem. 1 mouse a day keeps the ANGER away. But all cats are different. Some cats still brings gifts, it their instinct. Catnip also can help. But you should have to play with the cat, VERY HARD, in the about 20 minutes it takes your cat to get tired. Take a glove on your hand. Play with that hand wearing your glove. Than pet it with the other hand. It really works. And your cat it very happy and tired. And then it comes to you very friendly. I do find walking a cat is a lot like shopping with a woman. My cat will stroll with me outside, then pause and go into a backyard for 15 minutes, come back out, then we continue on until the next backyard. It's just like going to the mall with a woman and being told she's gonna dip into a store and to wait outside it before she takes off.
