Plasma Caster. Shoulder Cannon make me think of the BFG that Marvel's Warmachine got on his armor. Din use that much in the games. I'm more of a stealth stalker. Give your position away. Not good in a melee fight.
I think they are two or more distinctly different weapons for different hunts. But my fave of the shoulder mounted weapons is the one from Predator 2, I just liked how it was shaped, stored and its look away option. But its hard to say there isnt something to the Plasma casters seen in AvP and Requiem, the firepower was impressive, and the wing yeo sound effect is very cool. The thup, snap of the original is still first in my heart for what energy weapons sound like.
I guess Wolf used two cannons because it wasn't a hunt but a containment mission, same way "military grade" predators such as the blazer have two, since it was an all out war. I hate it when people say that Wolf was less honorable for using two casters. It would be nice if you could discuss the military grade predators in AvP extinction but I'm not sure if they are canon or not.
Vincent Silmaro I'd like to think they are, like if a tribe screws up big time, they have to call in the predator military as clean up. Even in the game they say doing so comes at a great cost of their honor. Now I believe Wolf was being completely honorable taking on a predalien solo to reclaim his tribe's honor without further outside assistance.
I think when it comes to containment of a seriously dangerous species like xenos of course, honor is irrelevant. The more the situation becomes out of control, the more honor becomes irrelevant and is more just about eliminating the threat by any means necessary. Wolf did his duty, I'd say he should've kept all of his armor on when he fought the predalien at the end on the hospital roof moments before that nuke came in, but he took it off anyway and whupped the abomination's ass, and because of that, he was very honorable. If that nuke hadn't come in, Wolf would've sliced his blades deeper into the abom's skull and claimed his kill. Though he was stabbed by the tail, he still had his medical supplies and would've recovered just fine.

Given Wolfs status I imagine he understood exactly what equipment his mission called for using his judgment. His equipment matched his threat. Anyone who says otherwise isn’t a true fan.

Id like to add that aside from the burning/ fiery plasma bolt capability it can also shoot a type of Dark Plasma included in AvP: Extinction which is even more potent and deadlier than regular plasma, think of it as the little canister of blue goo ( which i think was the dark plasma ) which Wolf Predator used to disolve the bodies of the aliens.

Unfortunately there was a clan war forcing them to leave. When they got hit by a solar storm, they were shipwrecked and pirates found them. The pirates were trying to flee to space. So the trio agreed to help the pirates if they help them return to space. Still working on it. Don't want to spoil the rest. Lol
The Plasma caster sounds more in tune of the franchise. Also that would be cool if the predators could use some sort of plasma shield in the new predators movie coming soon. They can shield bullets and the acid from the aliens too.

Can a Xenomorph wounds be cauterize? So the acid don't go througg the ship for instence. Would a sonic/flash grenade be effective against a xeno? I always wandered if it would be effective. The pheromone hunting thing is a good thery, but when a queen communicate with its drones, what is it? Sound, pheromone, mind control?

They cant all just be like "MUH HUNTING", traveling around the space, killing stuff, having fun-time, all that without someone doing actual hard job of providing resources and technology for all of this. Also makes me wonder about their homeland society, the every-day rules, do they have something like offices, groccery stores, money and all that kind of things.
Imagine they have a huge facility/factory/manufacturers for research and producing weapons and space craft. I'm sure they must have it in case for all out war with other races if someone want to invaded their home planet(including humans). If it was actual plasma then it wouldn't just blow a chunk out of your body. Your entire body would actually explode as all the moisture is superheated. Plasma is ionised gas roughly about 2500 degrees Celsius.
The shoulder mounted plasma cannon seems like a cheat for the Pred vs. Humans. Kinda like hunting deer with a rifle. I think the Cannon is ok in the case of the Xenomorph because they are a weaponized humanoid. It is cool tech tho.

The plasma caster and other weapons used by the Predators in the movies, are not, in my opinion, the deadliest or most state of the art weapons made by the species. They hunt for sport. And much like our own shotguns and fishing rods, the arsenal used by Yautja hunters cannot be too advanced, thus any challenge in hunting would be eliminated. It's possible the plasma caster is traditional and ritualistically used for generations. And the Yautja seen in Prey didn't use one (yet) as they would be too efficient against human projectile weapons for the time. Our weapons simply weren't deadly enough to merit their use. By the 20th century this was a different ball game and they upped the stakes with plasma casters. Also the fact that they hadn't invented plasma caster in Prey is unlikely: interstellar travel and cloaking devices are also in use in the 1700s, so I doubt they'd have trouble with high energy projectile weapons.
Speaking of modified Plasma Casters how about the one from MK-X with the ability to shatter bones its a perfect tool for an easy way to make a trap you know the type. wound one man, make him bleed, make him suffer, make him call out for help and kill those who come kinda trap

I believe there's another name called the burner and I beleive the weapons was actually stolen from the engineers and the predators adapted it into there hunts ur video and info is correct but only based on video games & movies there's so much more in the novels trust me and thank you for all the work m8 !

Higher rank Predtaors like wolf and scar had armor that was immune to there acid, they have armor for the alien acid

The tracking system also make calculations to anticipate the trajectory of a moving target, like a pursuit technique a hunter would do with his rifle.
I think it's pretty solid and the fact that it can be modified into a hand held weapon makes it even better

Restvive 88 well they acquired their technology from other planets, they mainly stole all of it and forced natives to create their technology.
Mayhaps that job falls to the elders of their kind that had been good hunters but at some point became to old to continue to hunt actively.
