    We just brought in a 8 week old male pup to our 6 year old female. First few days she was like "WTH" but now all they do is play!!! She is a good mom and corrects him as needed too. We love giants!

    Arny's reaction to the puppy coming over to him at the food bowl was AWESOME!!!!!

      Thank you!
      At first, we thought that he would behave way more aggressively to puppy's actions, but Arny is very patient and accurate with him, even when the puppy gets nuts.

    Hi there, love Giant Schnauzers. They look great and am sure they will learn to really get along with each other.

  • @НаталияШульгина-ь5ж

    И всё-таки они намного красивее без хвостов и со стоячими ушами.
    Спасибо, красота❤!

    Congrats on your family addition! We love watching your giants. We have a 10yo giant and would have liked to have added a second one years ago, but we have a senior chihuahua, and three dogs would have been too much for us.

    What great videos you make, thank you so much for sharing! Giant and Standard Schnauzers are my favourite breed, right along with Boxers. Your two dogs are amazing and I really enjoy watching your peaceful videos, highlighting everyday life with them. I lost my best friend, a 12.5 yr old Boxer, this past summer and I really would like another dog soon. The grief and sorrow is stronger than I could ever imagine,

    I enjoyed this video and my 2 black as ink mini schnauzers did too. My dogs share a father but are very different personalities also. The second dog has helped the terrible separation anxiety of my first boy. I love your videos and your giants, from schnauzer family in Australia xxx

    My first dog, Ronie, was a miniature schnauzer. When he was younger my parents bought a standard schnauzer, Scot, that is now 8 years old. Last year my parents bought Leslie, a black standard schnauzer. She makes Scot happier, given that when my miniature passed away he became quiet and sad. Anyway, I just want to say that is really good to have two or more dogs, both for the humans and the dogs. And schnauzers are perfects pets, even though I never had a giant, I believe they are perfect dogs too. Love to meet your beautiful dogs ❤

    Did you consider crate training right away to prevent the peeing accidents altogether?

    • @my.giant.schnauzers
      @my.giant.schnauzers  4 месяца назад

      I do think that this is a great practice, honestly! But since we live in the house with yard I thought that there is not a need for crate. Also, with my first giant schnauzer - Arny, we never had such issues. He learned quite fast that he needs to “show” that he wanna pee and we let him go out. Maybe in total he did it 4-5 times at home his first week with us.
      With Sydney it was a completely different story. He drinks a lot of water, since the first day till now. As a puppy Sydney drank twice more than Arny and he was not able to hold it more than an hour after drinking. When he reached 7 months old, problem disappeared.

    How do legally have docked and cropped dogs in Portugal? I thought the practice was illegal in all of EU?

    • @my.giant.schnauzers
      @my.giant.schnauzers  8 месяцев назад

      I do not think it is legal in any EU country. I took my dogs from my home country out of EU, where it is done with all puppies in the litter. It is what it is and different countries have different laws for this.

    I have not been able to understand the mutilation of ears and tail (for aesthetics?...) can someone explain to me what function it has?... if Giant Schnauzers are spectacular and beautiful as they are... Fortunately in my country there is a law that consider these practices animal cruelty 🐕

    • @my.giant.schnauzers
      @my.giant.schnauzers  3 месяца назад +1

      I understand your point of view and respect it, but in my our case it is how it is.
      There is a lot of information around in this regard and reasoning. Mostly it is more about aesthetics, but positive sides can be considered as reducing chances of ears infections and reducing the risks of tail damage.
      Though, it’s a choice of the owner with the regulation of the country law to choose whether go for it or not. The most important is to provide a safe and loving environment with great amount of exercises for the dog 🐶

      @@my.giant.schnauzers Hello, I really don't want to have controversies that may not convince you of something that for me is real, if you consider what you should do with your pets, the reality is that I can't do anything to avoid it, much less convince you, but I do want to. To tell you that the arguments you give to justify your procedure do not have any scientific basis or a serious or extensive study that supports it, it is only an aesthetic issue imposed by breeders or some dog clubs, although the practice has been known since the Roman Empire to finish my topic without want to bother you, we humans have this habit of modifying and controlling nature sometimes just for our delight, and we do not let it itself, its wisdom, create or eliminate what it considers necessary or unnecessary... by miracle it still allows us to have a brain...🤣🤣🤣

      В старину отрубали уши и хвосты шнауцерам, ведь они были крысоловами, чтобы избежать инфекций, крысы вполне могли постоять за себя, и защищаясь бросались на собак.
      Сейчас практика показывает, что шнауцеры имеют разные хвосты, и некоторые хвосты доставляют собакам неудобства (заломы, переломы), а про уши и говорить нечего, с ушами проблем хватает. Если Вам повезло, и Ваш шнауцер имеет хороший постав ушей, Вы за этим следили, и у взрослой собаки уши достаточно проветриваются, то очень здорово! Также, если повезло, и у Вашего шнауцера нет кольца, сильно закрученного, то да, всё замечательно!
      Но часто уши прилипают к голове, сильно закрыты, переламываются хрящи, и хвосты- кольца доставляют собакам много неудобств. А внешне такие собаки выглядят не очень, но это моё субъективное мнение. У меня было два шнауцера, оба купированные. Хвосты, купируют рано, когда болевой порог щенка минимален, а уши - один месяц осторожного обращения, и нет проблем у собаки.
      Так что это опять человеческий фактор, наша гуманность😂😭 - наши проблемы, и к шнауцерам не имеют отношения!!!
      Законы точно собакам не нужны, а уж как изображают гуманизм, собакам не важно. Для собаки важно, чтобы её любил хозяин с хвостом или без.
      Всем шнацерам долгой счастливой жизни рядом с любимым человеком!
      Всем здоровья, счастья, радости❤!

    Looks like the puppy does not want to eat the crap that you feed them... I feed my GS raw meat (with raw bones and skin), eggs, sometimes cheese, fish. You don't need any vitamins if the dogs get a variety of the raw meats. You'd be surprised how healthy your dog will be if not fed the commercial kibble crap food... Thanks for the video, though!

    • @НаталияШульгина-ь5ж
      @НаталияШульгина-ь5ж Месяц назад

      Совершенно с Вами согласна! Но, лет 30-40 назад даже не думала, просто кормила собак, тогда держала овчарок, сырым мясом, творогом, яйцом, овощами и фруктами, добавляла крупы. А уже лет 20 назад столкнулась с такой проблемой, как глисты. Оказалось, что гельминты развиваются вместе с фармацевтикой😮, и этот сухой корм достойная замена.
      Конечно, если есть возможность кормить проверенным хорошим мясом, то это замечательно, но не у всех, к сожалению.
      Я очень рада, что Вы имеете такую возможность, спасибо.
      Но шнауцеры в этом ролике тоже очень хороши, веселы и сильны.
      Всем здоровья ❤!
