His latest venture, the “Naresh Essequibo Restaurant”, stands as a testament to his determination to bring the flavours of his homeland to a new audience, nestled on 214-69 Jamaica Avenue, Queens Village, 11428.
Relocating to the United States in 2015, Persaud’s journey has been one of transformation. Leaving behind his career as a “Goldsmith” in Guyana, he found his true passion in the kitchen when he got to the ‘Big Apple’.

I always love it when you guys go to Liberty Ave. and check out the stores and restaurants. Khrisna that goat curry and dhal puri looks mouth watering and they gave you so much curry lol. Nice to see the Essequibo restaurant. All of those foods and snacks look very good. I hope that in the future, he will have an eat-in section. Honestly, did the jerk chicken fried rice have the taste as it would in Guyana? All of the other stores were well stocked. Those eddoes are very nice.
