True... I find myself listening more and more to Mozart vs. Romantic Era composers. The classical, playful sound raises my spirits, especially this time of year.
These are not violin sonatas. They are in fact Piano sonatas with violin accompaniment. Mozart explicitly states this. it is misleading to try to recast the roles in these sonatas as the piano clearly predominates with the violin in a supporting subordinate complementary role perfectly blended into the whole. There is a genre of keyboard sonatas that are accompanied distinct from the solo keyboard sonatas.
