Wow, you guys eat food from many islands of Indonesia. Lucky you ! I myself in Indonesia, can not find all those dishes in one times and one place ! Enjoy the food guys.
Interesting tidbits. Since it was mentioned that the egg Foo Young is a Chinese diaspora dish, some of the other dishes not mentioned as Chinese origin actually also came from the Chinese diaspora. Some that are off the top of my head are the Soto, the Martabak and Rujak Juhi. They're also Chinese Indonesian dishes guys!
Interesting... From most Indo ppl I know, they don't really reckon Soto/Martabak/Rujak Juhi as really "Chinese origin" anymore. It's like Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) & Bubur (Congee) - yeah they know originally it's from China but it's been mixed and bastardized for soooo long it takes up a whole new version that Indonesians take pride of, and that I don't think Chinese ppl would say it's one of their own. What I know is when Indonesians say "Chinese diaspora food" that means it's originally Chinese, and it hasn't been as "bastardized" "naturalized" as much in Indonesia - so it retains quite distinct Chinese character. Like that Foo Young. Cmiiw tho!
@@noeswantra2295 It's honestly sad how in Indonesia, the origins of these food are forgotten. I've seen so many food of immigrant children origins that are forgotten and claimed as 100% pribumi, essentially erasing the history and contribution of immigrants in Indonesia! Indonesia is a highly multicultural society, long before the Dutch or the Portuguese even stepped foot. How wonderful it would be if the roles that children of immigrants in Indonesia are acknowledged and celebrated. Yet now it's unfortunate how not only are these forgotten and erased, we can see some racist people crying out for the expulsion of Chinese Indonesians and yet at the very same protest eat some Soto from a street stall...
@@noeswantra2295 Foo Young has also been "acclimated" in Indonesia. And let's not forget that those dishes I mentioned were directly invented by Chinese Indonesians! Soto Betawi was invented by a Chinese Indonesian who first sold it. So no, it wasn't "bastardized", it's still made the way the Chinese Indonesian inventor made it! Martabak is also still very similar to the original Chinese origin. The only difference is the topping.
@Geschmack J Unfortunately they have succeeded, as even the more recent food inventions like Soto Betawi (found on 1977, as per another commenter), the origins are erased!
@Geschmack J also the famous muslim wear in indonesia called "baju koko" is actually originated from chinese clothing. Sadly most ppl especially muslim dont know about this and brand it as original indonesian "muslim wear". Dont get me wrong im muslim indo myself, but i know indonesia have high influence of chinese cultures from food, clothing, habit, ppl, race, etc.

In Java, we called stingray as "iwak P" or translated as P Fish. I eat it a lot and its tasted delicious.
Iwak peyek? 😅
Indonesia is not only rich in ethnic cultures, Indonesia is rich in culinary. Each region has its own special food.
And let see the price..
1 portion there = 5 to 10 portions here (indonesia).
Respect "touchscreen warung". Warteg dan warung2 lainnya is the best!! 👍👍👍. Masakan emak apalagi..priceless ❤️❤️❤️.

Yes didn't think anybody was gonna touch this!!! Indosesian food was Hands down the best food I've tried outside my Haitien pattie kodet Aransol and Nyurlan big plate chicken in Ughir spot in Flushing!! Outside of home cooked food! I went last year for the first time and literally couldn't stop eating! The spice and the flavor was on point. Top Cuisine!

Dang I wanna host the Indo foods episode with yall so baaaaaddd. I am kinda like a connoisseur for Indo food for my foreigners friends back in my overseas college days lmao plus I used to host dinners with them with Indo foods lol
Fung bros def know better than that mas2 Indonesia, two thumbs up for Fung Bro’s! Btw Mendoan is tempe, fried with flour and spice. Your “crunchy crackers” is emping, better call it chips because it’s made from melinjo (a nut-like fruits)
Yeah there is little different thing about chips (keripik) and crackers (kerupuk)... Indonesia love both
Awww thanks for trying indonesian food! But there are still many delicious food you have to try! 😊😊
Wow, you guys eat food from many islands of Indonesia. Lucky you ! I myself in Indonesia, can not find all those dishes in one times and one place ! Enjoy the food guys.

@@lenziany I like almost everything on the menu. And Awang changed the menu frequently. As Indonesian, I think his cooking is authentic and delicious!
Thats a loott of foodd you got there in a day omg 😱 well theres always space for indonesian food
I really lovee this sm! hope u enjoy and love Indonesia food guys♥️
You guys should difintely go have some soto kambing(which is some kind of yellow broth(the colouris from the spice)with protein in it), Sop kampung(which means Country soup literally, it's reach)... our top menu, rendang is very good tooo...
