    Deadly Alliance: The move was born...and it is kinda uneventful. It is just a fire emerging from the ground with a small blast from where it erupts. Obviously, I get the limitations of the time and of assets, but the end result does not exactly leave a lasting impression.
    Deception: Same.
    Shaolin Monks: The move technically doesn't exist in the game. The only thing we get is an animation of Scorpion making the pose for the move after using his Burning Skull attack, possibly to give off the idea that you are commanding the fire that burns your opponents, which seems to imply that this is more of an additional animation that you can activate rather than a gameplay move. The idea seems to be from this game's Konquest Mode where Scorpion used that move to manipulate the area of the Netherrealm he was fighting the monks, which also implies some consistency in terms of Scorpion's powers, since it seems he can use that move to manipulate pre-existing hellfire and Netherrealm essense in general and could be seen as Scorpion enjoying torturing his opponents, which adds some character into tge gameplay, albeit not exactly character that fits Scorpion. As a gameplay feature, it offers nothing, aside fron perhaps a speck of personality for this version of Scorpion (albeit a speck of personality that is generic and contradictory to Scorpion's main series personality), but as a character feature, it is a power that I'd like to see more of in the future.
    Armageddon: Same as Deadly Alliance and Deception. I will commend the 3d era for having consistent playstyles and aesthetics for its charactets, story and world throughout its entirety, therefore there is an actual sense of continuation and investment in this series.
    MK vs DCU: The first true great one. It has an obviously improved animation, it creates a little crater on the ground as it explodes and it covers the opponent in their entirety, while giving them a nice overall burn.
    MK9: Same, but the animation for the opponent getting burnt is worse. Now there is a bit of a yellow aura around the opponent as they get burnt. Weird, considering no such effect exists for the Toasty and this seems like something that would exist in MK vs DCU but doesn't.
    Injustice: Gods Among Us: This one is just a puny fire that proples from the ground with no crater or even little burst of flames. It is easily the least animated one. The X-Ray on the opponent's chest is a cool touch and it gives some MK identity to the move, although it is a bit weird when we can see it from the back of a fighter who wears a cape.
    MKX: The more the game's graphical fidelity improves and the more content the game gets, the less the burn effects in Scorpion's hellfire get animated it seems. Now, instead of the opponent being animated at getting burnt, the opponent now just instantly switches to his burnt model as soon as soon as the first frame of hellfire enters the screen. The magma effect is well-done and definitely something new for this move, but it does not really make any sense for it to be an effect of a burn and because of the veey far away camera and the game's overall dark lighting and aesthetic, it is hard for it to be noticed and appreciated.
    The other version of this move is in Scorpion's Hellfire variation. I like the overall idea of variations giving different versions of moves. It spices up gameplay and makes each variation feel unique and having a reason to exist. This variation summons a Netherrealm demon to grab the opponent. Gameplay-wise, it is a good grapple to allow for combos. Lore-wise, the fact that tge demon burns the opponent just by touching them is a cool lore addition that adds an additional level of danger to the Netherrealm. Aesthetic/animation-wise, we do get to see magma marks like before, which makes as much sense as before (although you could kinda excuse it a bit with the demons potentially possessing some kind of natural Netherrealm magic or something). I commend the artists and animators who go the extra mile to deliver details such as this and I perfectly understand all the effort they put and the harsh work conditions they are dealing with, so any critisisms I present are about the project, not the hard-working people who made it. After clarifying all that, I don't think they needed to go the extra mile in that case. There are already the camera, lighting and aesthetic issues I mentioned before and, couple that we the grand level of detail everything in this game has and take into account the fact that this time the magma burns are only in the area where the demon touches, a.k.a. the area the demon is covering, you are lucky if you even notice it. Wow. Those were way more than I thought I would say for a detail in a gameplay special move.
    And off course, you can pull Brutalities with those moves where not something unique happens, such the opponent melting or tge demon dragging the opponent to the Netherrealm, we just get the 7th quienticillionth Brutality explosion. How does that even work? The head remaining tho is a nice touch, although a bit too cartoony for the game's aesthetic.
    MK11: Scorpion's hellfire is being done by guest character Spawn. Maybe they wanted to reflect Scorpion's current story role of not being a spectre anymore, but they didn't do that for MKX and this game brings back spectre Scorpion, so I don't know what to say. Still, Spawn is a fitting character to have all 4 of those hellfire-based attacks.
    Wait, 4? Why couldn't Scorpion have 1 of them. Having both hellspawns summon demons against each other would be so cool!
    The first one is demon summoning. I don't think I like the way this attack was handled in general. I feel that the MKX idea of the attack, a.k.a. grabbing, is better than the one here, a.k.a. tackling. Such an attack from below feels more like it should be more devastating to the opponent than just make tgem get a single hit and have them get up. Also, the way the opponent gets taken down is weird; not a rush or tackle but a punch to the weird. It feels weird.
    The second one, I won't sugarcoat it, is posdibly the worst of all the moves that I've mentioned in this comment. It's a puny weak-looking green fire attack that burns the opponent's entire skin. The way this happens is with a super quick model swap, but the fire attack doesn't cover the opponent's body or make some sort of cool transition, the opponent just changes model mid-air and the weak little "scream" they let does not help against the tiny little impact this move has. I don't blame the animators for laziness or something like, they were working under hard conditions and this game is a huge project where those people were asked to take care of hundreds if not thousands of little things like these. I won't be harsh on the animators/sound-designers/artists who worked on this move or to tge effort they put, but I will criticise the project. With all, I believe that out of all the moves in this comment, the only one that could be seen as worse is the Shaolin Monks one, and that one barely counts as a gameplay move and could be excused as simply being an additional animation.
    The third one is the best of the four. Spawn punches the ground and hot steam sends the opponent flying with two consecutive attacks. The second steam follows the opponent so you can get mid-air combos. This IS a move you want at your side. It's not necessarily impressively animated, but the act of Spawn suckerpunching hot steam out of the ground is visually distinct and a fresh and hardcore concept.
    The fourth one is Spawn summoning rocks from Hell. It's aesthetically whatever and not exactly that gives me Spawn vibes, but maybe there is a comic whete Spawn uses such an ability. If that's the case, kudos for making some Spawn mega-fans happy. The Brutality that comes from this attack leaves the body mostly whole. A bit weird that it doesn't at least snap in two, but it's definitely visually different than a lot of other ones.
