My last game in Mexico was one of the biggest teams in Liga MX - UNAM Pumas that played at their home stadium Olímpico Universitario against Leon. Great football, lots of goals and most importantly amazing fans!
The university Olympic stadium is not only old, but it is also a world heritage site. The only state with that distinction in the world. Therefore it cannot be remodeled.
You should go to a game a night!! It’s a whole different vibe in that stadium 🏟️

Awful team, dont know who named them great, tigres toluca leon and Pachuca have more titles in total.. And they are the small team within cdmx. Shitty team
Ever since I could remember, they’ve always had their home games Sunday mid day. I’m thinking that the night games are a rarity?

@Guez_art they're getting away from that. Last season only 3 games were played at 12. This season I belive they're also doing 3.

U r right!, the stadium is old, but the name olimpico comes not because that is how the stadiums with the track for T&F events are commonly referred to, on this stadium the actual olympic games of 68 took place there. U can see on the top of the stands to ur left, that concrete block with a martini glass shaped ornament. There is where the olympic flame burned throughout the games. The ultras of the team sit there they are called LA REBEL. They can be violent, that is why police stands next to them throughout the game. The stadium is inside the university campus, which is a protected by UNESCO, for humanity. U could see stunning mosaics not only on the outside of the stadium, but across the avenue on the university library! Glad u were there and glad u enjoyed urself. Come back again, and… VAMOS PUMAS!!!
