I still hold the theory that Hasbro focused all of their efforts on the robot mode. Then, after realising they had yet to give this figure an alt mode, they came up with whatever that is. There’s seriously no middle ground in this line when it comes to the alt modes. Either they’re just the G1 alt modes with some weird stuff added to them (like giant headlights or vents placed on the back) or they’re big blocks of nothing (Soundwave and Shockwave).
I just took the blades off megatons sword gun thing put the gun on his back and it looks pretty good to me the gun with soundwave on megatons back would look way to small
Soundwave is high on my get list. That "ship" reminds me of one right out of Kingdom Hearts. One you have you shoot down and then can build to fly in. Love the homage mode to episode 1 of the G1 toon.
Kids would rathe get a figure that turns into a vehicle rather than a light That made me realise a soundwave desk lamp would be great with ligh in his chest letting him transform

Happy Canada Day, Brian. ☺ And what a great figure to review on such an occasion also; A Soundwave figure with a lackluster vehicle mode which I personally don't dislike, a totally canon streetlight mode (which I kind-of prefer to the main alt. mode a little), and a gorgeous looking robot mode! 😁 Also, that dance animation at 5:44 made me laugh WAY harder than I thought I would... And yes, I have no regrets, because that was genuinely funny to me! 😆

Someone pointed out that the folding grey pole's barrel is a dead ringer for Megatron's "behind the shoulder" gun barrel, and at a distance with it mounded on Megs' back it looks spot on. Just don't look at it from the side or else it gets weird
I honestly think that soundwaves ship mode is not too bad. I like to think of it as a drop ship for his cassettes or maybe an aircraft carrier (that might be pushing it lol). But I could totally see it as a drop ship none the less. But we all know that just like every other siege figure ( maybe except springer) the robot mode is where it really shines. The robot mode absolutely out shines his ship mode. I mean there is also that lamppost mode which I genuinely think is better than that ship, and although it is a shame that there is no official Walkman mode, you can just manipulate the figure to get it. Like wrapping soundwaves legs around from the ship mode, making him look like a cybertronian boom box. Or you could pull off his arms. But there are also upgrade kits for soundwave. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND BOTH THIS FIGURE AND THE SL51 SHOCKWAVE LAB KIT. This kit fills in the gappy arms as well as allowing the arms to SLIDE BACK. This creates enough room to fold the legs along the sides giving a more traditional looking cassette player mode. Overall, I love this figure and I happily pose him along side siege screamer and megs ;)
Soundwave Sex Appeal indeed. I typically display all my figs in robot mode so I wasn't super broken up over the trash vehicle mode. I've gotten more from siege than I intended to frankly, and this guy's among my favorites.
Idea for his "ship" altmode: Satellite a la Revenge of the Fallen. Still a bit boxier than most, but it DOESN'T have to be a ship. Just sayin. And good idea for those who're at the mercy of the scalpers who make the Netflix one a pain in the colon to get
To those how want a g1 lookalike soundwave figure but don’t want to pay like 1000 bucks or something like that for the masterpiece version then the transformers siege soundwave is the next best substitute for your g1 needs plus I think this is a awesome figure so what are you waiting for go to the store RIGHT NOW AND GET THIS FIGURE RIGHT NOW trust me it’s worth it 😎👍

The useless grey gun can plug into the back of Siege Megatron's shoulder, and makes you recreate his G1 back shoulder cannon. :D
