My hubby and I were watching a music set on top of a roof with London in the background. Lots of cranes could be seen in the background. It prompted him to ask the question how do they dismantle cranes? So, as I suspected and he didn’t go with, they use a crane to dismantle a crane! I’ve just sent this video to him to answer his question! 👍
It's amazing watching them taking down the crane. I feel dizzy just to look at it on the screen let alone those people working on such a high altitude!!
crewcutter2030 I believe cranes that are used for skyscrapers have modular top sections with special rails so they can add or remove sections on their own.
Those cranes are equipped with climbing frames which can be also used to remove tower sections to slowly disassemble the crane and when a suitable height is reached, a mobile crane finishes the job. Helicopters are only used for assembly of small tower cranes in unreachable locations.
if a taller crane is needed to dismantle a lower crane then how does the taller one get dismantled?
That's what I was wondering...
+donkeyinaz that one is a mobile crane that gets brought in for the job
+Andreas Wacker thx. Maybe they all should be portable like that one? Interesting....
+donkeyinaz the mobile crane blocks several lanes on the road, so it's not possible to have it for longer than a day.
+Denis Khromov cool, thanks for that info.
Thank you. I live across the street from a construction site with a big ass crane and this has boggled my mind.
thank you for answering my most hardest question: how do construction workers take cranes down
🤣🤣🤣🤣I wonder this for years. Looking at the video like 😳
My hardest question to lol
Those workers have balls of steel disassembling the structure that's keeping them from plummeting

I drove by a crane and thought of how this happens so decided to go check out
Basically you need a crane to dissemble a crane, overwhelming
Great video. Did I see the crane operator leave after the top pyramid piece was removed?
These guys make it look easy.
my boyfriend and i are high as shit looking at skyscrapers on a roof and suddenly realized we didn’t know how cranes got taken down Lmfao
Oh look, it's Swinerton. I'm currently on one of their jobs.
So this is The City?
This was like solving how the Giza pyramids were constructed
Now how do the take down the crane that was taking down the other one
Why did you or they remove the "jibb" end and trolly and then the jibb? weight issue ?
There was a crane in our town for almost a year, and today it’s going away :( I am sad because I like cranes
This crane collapse am I right? Because I’ve seen loads of videos about the collapse
You can’t just cut the most important part. The video is about taking down a crane and you didn’t show it. Disappointing. Won’t suscribe. Up the lads
Who was here before 3020?
What
Bro setted his world on /daylock
So for every crane you need another crane? Infinite loop 🤔
Provides no information about how cranes are taken down
Yea like it just shows us how they do it not how it is done.
Well, the title does say "Tower Crane Disassembly" not "How Cranes Are Taken Down"
Wow nice job I'm full support ☺️😌
how to dismantle brief?
so what happens if the building is taller than a mobile crane? do they use hellicopters?

Fear of heights by proxy
I thought when i was a child the tallest crane like that will dissambly in a way that helicopter will take down the main crane?
And then there's that one guy at thw bottom watching the whole time
I used the cranes to destroy the cranes.
lovely video.
Men built the world.
boi aint no way boi
puts taller crane to dismantle the building crane..
puts tallest crane to dismantle the taller crane.. whats next?
puts tallestest crane to dismantle the tallest crane.... what.
My dad said how a crane is removed is they knock it down XD
Wait so you need a crane to get rid of a crane
I hope the workers are very well paid. It could always be their last job for these daredevils.
Now how do they dismantle the other crane
Other one is a mobile crane. It drives away.
what dismantle crew did they use?
The crew on the crane being dismantled are usually Union Ironworkers, and usually with a crane certification.
😍👍
P
Awful job.
pity there was a skip when the boom was disconnected.
Yeah, my memory card died and I didn't find out until 15 minutes later
