- In this video I show you how I am fixing the upper shock mounts on my boys Jeep. The frame was rusted through where the upper mounts attach to the frame. I cut the old mount out and welded in some new steel. When the new shock mounts arrive, I'll be able to weld them right in on clean metal.
Here are the upper shock mounts that I ordered

I realize this is an older video, but I have to tell you, I've watched a lot of frame repair videos and yours has to be the absolute best and top quality repairs I've seen on these forums. Everybody else's repair's looks like pathetic in comparison. I like how you weld and grind the repairs to flow in like it was never rusted out. Bravo sir, Bravo!
Quality repair Bill. I wouldn't mind seeing other repair videos. Keep up the great work.
Awesome! Glad to hear that, thanks for the feedback!
Really nice repair for flux core. Also, good job leaving the guard on your grinder. I've been welding for about 30 years and I cringe every time I see someone using a grinder without a guard. I've never come across a situation where I've had to remove the guard.
Thanks for the video.
Then you haven’t been in enough situations lol.
Excellent job. Don't limit yourself to just appliance repair.
Thanks!
I can’t weld as I don’t have a welder… but man I wish I did! It’s so cool you can fix things like that! Next level for me! I’ll get there..
Nice work man! The scenery there is phenomenal!
Thanks! I don't think I could live in a big city, not after living around here my whole life. lol
Great job Bill . you're really good with spot welding. And you definitely need a 4 wheel drive on that trail lol.
lol, Thanks! the cv end on my front driveshaft started giving a horrible vibration going down the road, so I took it off. So it's a 2 wheel drive until a get another one, too expensive to buy new, been looking for a good used one for a couple months now with no luck. We still made it to the top of the power lines though! Not that big dirt pile though, lol, Thanks for Watching!
what year is your jeep bill, i can check around hear for you one
Awesome, it's an 01, it has a universal joint on one end and a cv joint on the other. Let me know what you find!
Very nice work
What brand of welder do you use, model? Nice job.
Good job man...👏
thanks Bill ...
Great job
Thanks!
Nice video, thanks! What kind of welder did you use?
Trail looks like either AOAA or FRO...
ah...you are becoming a gearhead...My tip is : Don't grind your welds down...Leave em proud, unless there is a clearance problem..Full welds =strength...nice work...like your style
I just watched a couple of your videos, nice work! You have some serious skills! I watched the Dana 80 rotor one. What part of the country do you live in?
I agree... maybe just the crowns....I think some beveling would have worked in your favor here.
I have the same problem would you be willing to do repair work? I have the new upper shocks as well.. How much would you charge?
nice work... boy that brings back memories some good ones too
looks great, better than factory, I bet the factory frame wasn't that thick .
Thanks! I hope it holds up when we are all done!
Great job
THANK YOU LOOKS LIKE FUN !!!!!!
We did have a blast, trying to get stuck!
