She's always had the most beautiful skin and she still does!
I Agree she literally looks the same 40 years ago
Absolutely. Black and flawless.
I MET HER AT THE AFRICAN MARKET PLACE FESTIVAL IN L.A. SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL SISTA AND HUMOROUS.I WAS WITH MY LADY I APPROACHED HER SHE LOOKED AT MY LADY AND SAID"DID SHE GIVE YOU PERMISSION"ALL THREE OF OF US LAUGHED.
Absolutely
She’s aged beautifully.

Yes it certainly Is!
Spirituality and the universe are powerful. I was just wondering about her. Thank you Comedy Hype for allowing Phyllis Yvonne Stickney to share her INSIGHTFUL views! ❤️
Kelly Price speaks on this in reference to R Kelly
I must ask why didn’t we see more of this black, beautiful sista.
Powerful. And you have to know exactly who YOU are before agreeing to ANY OFFER.
I loved Phyllis from back in the day. She represented so much to me wearing natural hair, Africancentric styles and her Intellect and humor was always on point! Thank you for this!!
Queen and Gary Anthony Williams kind of resemble each other.
I remember how magnificent she was in the inkwell , then how radiant she was as an attorney in new jack city and how sublime she looked as the Jamaican mother in how Stella got her groove back. She is just a gift a superb talent and gorgeous woman.
And Tina Turner sister in Whats Love Gots to do with it. "Not the white dress anna mae"
ABSOLUTELY!!! Perfect description of her classy sassy looking smelling pure black beauty
@@Pinkoffee-zt6jm say it again queen smelling like black excellence she is just so regal to me well we all are 🥰
Phyllis Yvonne Stickney has always been one of the coldest comedians in the game and it's nice to see she hasn't changed. She has an enormous amount of integrity and she is equally as talented.
She a comedian?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 By this alone don't find her funny
@@flyguy7825 I don't know what point you were trying to make because it wasn't clear but this is called "Comedy Hype" and she was doing an INTERVIEW, which wasn't meant to be funny.
@@RJNumber45 Then what is she? If you listened to her interview, she said she's been a comedian for over 40 years and was at the Laugh Factory & The Comedy Story during their beginnings. She's a comedian, an actress, an activist, etc. If your goal here is to troll, you're wasting your time. I'm not going back & forth with fools.

@@AveIvy in a interview if your a comedian I would like to think that your personality would show a little bit but it doesn't at all
She has Paul Mooney's energy/personality

Don't know who she is yet, but I damn sure said that in the first 10 seconds before seeing this!... Excellent call in my opinion.

She was so regal as the Jamaican mom in How Stella Got Her Groove Back. She totally could have replaced Madge Sinclair as queen mother in Coming to America 2. And ohhh That skin❣️
I haven't seen Coming to America 2.
OMG, SPOT ON!
💯
Phyllis Yvonne Stickney is criminally underrated talent. She is such a beautiful woman and talented actress. I never understood why she wasn’t a bigger star.
💯 And now we know why.
I love her as an actress, especially in Brewster Place.
All these years I watched what’s love got to do with it and I just realize she was Tina’s sister in the movie.
Liked her as well in New Jack City as a Lawyer.
Wow I didn't know that was her
She was in the movie "The Inkwell"
Thank you for this! I had no idea.
Also I remember she had an TV show with Sheryl Lee RALPH call New Attitude back in 1990 it was a good show it didn't stay on to long.
She's beautiful and regal beyond words! Such an intelligent and queenly prescence! The hair braiding scene in The Inkwell still brings me to tears! So strong and emotional.
“They know who you are and what your vices are before they give you the golden key.” Phyllis Yvonne Stickney
💯 And they'll feed your weakness then use it against you. I'm not even trying to be famous or be in Hollywood but that last part of the interview still sent chills down my spine because it's true for a lot of systems and groups.
Protect this young lady at ALL costs!!! A treasure to keep and cherish!!
Cliché this saying is. When is the community actually going to do it. Too many of them are getting destroyed
She always drops knowledge and wisdom. She knows the history of Hollywood. She is an excellent actress and was very particular in the roles that she performed in. She’s very beautiful and unapologetically brilliant.❤❤❤
That part, that whole part, all that. ✨💜✨
Loved her since the Showtime at the Apollo days also lovedher in Women of Brewster's Place. She is a class act. Beauty, Brains, and humor!

@RJNumber45 Ayo I feel as if you are trying to steal my past and future wife.
I’m conflicted, cause the title of this video should of been “Phyllis Yvonne Stickney gets Honest about Hollywood” but instead it involves another Black Actress’s name because of course divisiveness pulls in more clicks than unity. I have to check my heart as well though, because why did I allow a divisive title to draw my attention? I have to change as well as the direction of this platform!
🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
THIS!!
A lot of these sites play a huge part into mess. Comedy Hype is like a Shade Room. Doing Nothing and divide and conquer. She probably does not even know what he is getting at even in his questions and he always thinks someone will GO THERE FOR THE LOW BELT. THIS IS WHY I DO NOT LIKE COMEDY HYPE
🎯🎯🎯🎯
Amen too that!
She’s so eloquent, beautiful, and extremely talented. It’s so refreshing to her continue to evolve and share. Love her ❤️🥰❤️
Loved her on "Talking dirty after dark".we have so many talented people but are funneled through one at a time to the point where you forget about them. It actually makes me angry that I haven't seen this extremely talented woman in anything in decades.
Omg me too. I would always rent the hell out of that movie 😂 Just hearing her say John Witherspoon as the comedy club owner aka Dookie !

I remember when Khalil Muhammed was on the Phil Donahue show and this beautiful sister was in the crowd and made a comment about our plight in this country. I've always rooted for her.
I remember it like it was yesterday. And it's 2023; the words she said is still relevant today.
I THOUGHT that was her. Thank you for conforming
I love that she didn't say that Johnathan Majors didn't do it, which is what I think the interviewer wanted her to say. She basically said that the studios knew what kind of person that he was and didn't do anything about as long as it didn't hurt their pockets. But know that its known to the public they basically tossing him under the bus.
You Baka! Obviously, you haven't been paying attention as you should have been. Because I can definitely say innocent until proven guilty! The Small Hats and Caucasians shouldn't just have that right! 😮
I can listen to her talk all day. She has so much wisdom
I loved her in talking dirty after dark and the women of Brewster Place.
Girl STOP telling our age😂😂😂... but yes that's the 1st two roles I think of when I see her
Ms HAWKINS too😂😂 New Jack City
Yeees, played Larenz Tate mama with all dem kids😂🤣
Yes didn't she play the side chick to dookie in talking dirty after dark
Always loved Phyllis Yvonne Stickney..she has bomb presence.
I love Phyllis, and I agree I think Tiffany played her cards wrong. She had such a sad beginning story, everyone felt sorry about that and wanted her to WIN, and big, she played herself to be a slap stick minstrel show.
Right , I agree …….. I felt She got sucker punched twice .
Well just like she said, They know which ones to pick. Tiffany haddish didn't do anything Hollywood didn't know she wouldn't do
Agreed
At least she put a lot of comedians on with her She Ready show, but after that it seems like misstep after misstep
She's not funny to me.
I got to meet her back when she was in a stage production with my cousins. That was like 2000-01. She is so gorgeous and it felt like she could see into a person’s soul.
A great memory.
I absolutely love everything about her! I remember watching Jungle Fever as a kid (definitely shouldn't have been allowed to watch that back then 😂) and her energy and style and still is was EVERYTHING! This interview is awesome ❤💐💐💐
I am glad to see her doing interviews. She was always standout in all her performances. She looks good too.
How many of y'all remember when Khailid Muhammed was on the Phil Donahue show & towards the end of the show he was taking questions & listening to people point of view & she was actually one of the people in the audience that got a chance to speak & she got a standing ovation from the crowd & Khalid himself after she voiced her opinion 👑✊🏾💯
I saw that but didn’t think it was her. I really thought it was a “twin”
Rest in the essence to Dr. Khalid Muhammed ❤
I have a physical and digital copy of that episode. Brother Khalid raised his fist in acknowledgement of this Queen's powerful eloquence

Bro Khallid proposed to her. He wanted to marry her. This is facts. She and Doc had a relationship back in the 90's.

Phyllis is like a breath of fresh air. I love her wisdom. My mom named me after Tamara Dobson. I hated my name until she told me that. 😊
Your mother named you after one of the most beautiful and talented woman ever!!😮
I agree, and I am proud to carry that name.
I'm named after her as well, and it's such an honor. ❤
Tamara is an ancient American 🇺🇸 name. It is the western hemisphere’s version of Tameri which is from Kemet. It’s a very special name for us and our women. 💪🏾🪶
She just dropped hella gems for free.
She told a story that sums up Hollyweird, in minutes! A beautiful, smart black sister whom I have appreciated since" The Inkwell"❤ Teach us ❤
So good to see her again. She is a talented artist. She played Tina Turner's sister in what love got to do with it and even though she was not seen throughout the movie she contributed to the movie success. She starred in other classic movies from the 90s.
I just wanted to say, Phyllis, you are amazing and you've been beautiful forever. When I was a kid, seeing you do comedy on TV, made me prouder to be in my own chocolate-rich skin. Thank you!
I LOVE Phyllis. She looks so much like Madge Sinclair, who played Eddie Murphy's mother in 'coming to America' to me.
I am enjoying these interviews with her and understand why she hasn't had the level of success that she deserves.
She’s too militant. They do not gravitate to those with militancy mind-set. They just started embracing darker skin tone actors and those at some point strayed and went off track with their styles and messages if they had one to begin with. Look at Lupita. Of all the dresses she could have worn the other day, she wore a bust of her upper body. Really? Look like a joke. We for odd reasons cannot stick to class once we get to the top. Look at Ms. Patti and Oprah. Beyoncé, they coming for you and Lizzo once you go against the alternative world.
@@carterattainment8421 none of those people you mentioned are too black for Hollywood. They are the ones who they can control and push on us.

She’s telling the unadulterated unfiltered truth about Hollywood. I’ve always enjoyed her acting, and what she said is wisdom that should be taught to future generations, especially those that look like us it was us that save Hollywood in the 70s.

The Black Dollar is a strong one. We’ve just gotta monopolize it and stop giving it away.
Then again, that requires that we stop hating each other too and normalize our Black & Non-Black neighbors.
The Black Dollar is limited. There is only but so much that can be drawn from Black movie goers. Tyler Perry showed what movies attracted a particular Black audience, and so far, no Black director has been able to draw out the ones who are not feeling Tyler Perry's productions.
@@thespadestable Ryan Coogler did it and so did Jordan Peele. Also, Isa Rae and Donald Glover.
Tyler Perry definitely did and spoke to demographics who liked his products: Black Christians and Black Women. I’m a male and still found his work hilarious and yet got introduced to his plays via my mother.
It makes sense.
We do need more directors who can speak to the Black mind and make them feel seen; rather than whatever has been cranking out in Black face lately.
It’s like weird liberal Black movies that Black liberal bougie college students would enjoy.
It’s Black but it doesn’t really speak to the wider Black culture that Black Panther or Tyler Perry’s movies did.
It’s like liberal White people are making them and making their plights annoying by being so in your face that people will just burnout with the content thus with the actual plights of Black people via a trend.
@@thespadestable This is fair. The Black Dollar is limited but we’ve seen from Black Panther how influential it is when it’s put into things Black people are actually interested in.
So we’ve just got to keep doing that; while making movies quality and actually good instead of banking on Black people devoting to them simply because they’re Black.
Having quality that no one can deny would be a great catalyst to show how the rest of America react; because they did.
In gaming, the Japanese made Elden and it took the world by storm. You heard how other people were honestly hating.
These were the same people who leaned on “meritocracy” yet had every complaint that no gamer shared.
The Japanese worked hard for their passion project and it showed us how America’s prejudice actually worked.
They low key haters. They want you to work; but not better than them.
It’s why when Black Panther came out and exploded, everyone had every complaint in the book that wasn’t shared by the actual viewers.
I can listen to her for hours..
