Great outcome, definitely when you consider that Stormtroopers usually miss every shot.
But that's not a Stormtrooper.
This is a perfect comment.
Five years later and this is still the top tier comment on this video.
Loving the content Kai, especially this throwback to the pro tog challenge
Due to copyright issue: it's *toy camera challenge* hahaha
More of these challenges
Yes! More ToyCameraChallenges please! He did a great job, btw
I love these "Inexpensive toy type camera" challenges. It's a great chance to see how these photographers work without their gear. You get a sense of what it takes to be a good photographer and to see their skills really shine.
Obscure weird cameras too, makes me think of a odd binoculars / camera hybrid thing I had as a kid, or my childhood obsession with the old instant/self developing cameras with all manner of moving bits
Omg this is like the dream come true, I loved this drtv format. Well, as I love you and everything you do, so..
it wasn't "the drtv format" you dolt - it was all lok and kai. it still is.
@@punkrachmaninoff I can't see the difference because I used to watch drtv just for Kai and Lok.. but if you say so..
@@MrFedy1996 he's saying they created that format and they are the reason why that other company had this "format". Lok and Kai made that place and we all await their every post because of that.
@@jimi3314 ok ok, I got it and I knew it, with "drtv format" I intended "that kind of video I used to watch when Kai and Lok were working for Digitalrev tv", making Kai know I follow him since that time. Peace and love, my dudes
Reminder they made a channel called boke bros that they abandoned.
My favourite series that introduced me to photography is back!!!! Yeahhh!
His way of shooting is proof that that the gear doesn't always matter. His shots are always amazing.
Gear does matter though. If he always shot with an awful camera, he wouldn't have the following (And most of the jobs) he has now.
@@kenshiku but if the only thing you'll rely on is the gear, then you'll never learn how to shoot great.
@@kenshiku Bullshit, just look at these photos. Most people will go their whole lives without taking photos as good as a few of the ones he took.
I live for Kai's content, especially videos like this. Brings me back to the DRTV days... Great job as always! 😃
DRTV was great back when they were on it.
Anytime kai hold someone else's camera it gives me stress... He has a history of dropping camera 😆
"If you can take a good picture with a bad camera, imagine what you can do with a good one"
I loved the somewhat similar challenge on a now-forgotten channel, please make more of these!
Skills over gear - Need to keep replaying this vid everytime I think about an upgrade :-)
You've really ruined my day, Kai! I sat at work spending way too much time debating what B rig to carry...whether to get another 5D or upgrade to a 1 DX ...and you show this guy getting better shots than me using a toy camera!!! It looks like I need to focus on skill development for a bit.
Breh, get gud
Don't get bogged down on looking at reviews and all that. It's all bollocks.
Kai: Yeah. wait...
I have missed this series. YAS! Congrats on 10 years!
What makes an excellent photographer?... a different eye that sees what most people don't. All in all, to make different shots you MUST think differently. I like this guys' philosophy and started following him on Instagram. Great video! 👍
Thank you for posting this so soon after the Sony A7R Infinite Model announcements. I personally needed it from my favorite channel on RUclips. 🤮 I’m so sick of product announcements especially when they are incremental or unnecessary.
Yes my thoughts exactly. Just needed to move away from the gear obsessed videos...
Definitely do more of these featured photographer challenges. Super entertaining and fun, with bits on wisdom. Great video :)
The photos he got (using the stromtrooper) are actually pretty awesome! :)
I really like this idea for videos. I'd absolutely watch other well known or successful photographers using a toy. Very illuminating and I think you're on to something awesome.
Search for Pro Photographer, Cheap Camera Challenge on DigitalRevTV. Kai is hosting some of them :)
Then you are either new to Kai or sarcastic. Look up the old Digital Rev videos when he, Lok and Alambi were running the show. Pro tog cheap camera or some such.
I adore this format, and I'm thrilled to see it back again!
It’s back! Finally! Great Job you guys! This is pretty sweet! Thanks Kai and Lok!
❤️❤️❤️
I really needed this, sometimes i tend to forget what really matters. Quality of the work over quality of the photo. Thanks!
Hi from 2021, im genuinely convinced this is THE best street photography video on RUclips of all time. I come back to it once every couple months and I also walk away inspired
I hope your reach a million subs. You really deserve it Kai!
before 2020 he will hit it, trust me i know.
Keep this series going!!!
Brilliant! Nice to see pros really demonstrating how the "gear doesn't matter". Loved the bit about how people took photos 50-60 years ago with extremely basic equipment compared to the camera in even a cheap smartphone today.
best video these days for me. it remind me how to take good photo. not camera tech but sensitive perspective and passion. thanks a lot always kai.
Awesome video dude, always love a sixstreetunder vid. Those pics were so good! Him and Josh Jack are hands down the best dude's out there in this modern day
More of these! Honestly one of the best photography series.
Can't believe he wasn't using the strap, what if he'd have dropped it?!
It was made out of a storm troopers helmet. It would be fine.
he was using the force...
Love this videos 😍 Remember Chase Jarvis with Lego camera 📸 One of the best episodes in DRtv of all times
elmovan remember the Lara Jada episode 😍
Love the video! Followed Craig for a while on IG so great to see him work! Also, the Panasonic S1 looked great, watched this in full 4k glory - looked delicious!
I always thought it was known that this is the content why we started following in the first place hahaha
appearantly not, more of this pleaaase!!!
Hats off to Lok also! I've always loved this series because we get the thought process that goes into creating the image---not just the gear.
I'm so glad you have this kind of content! Always appreciate photographers with this challenge. The epitome of its not about the gear, but the person behind it. 😊
Please! Please! Please! Make more of this chea... I mean, Toy Camera Challenge. It just brings back all the fun memories of old DRT*.
And this is yet another perfect example of the philosophy "Man behind the gun". It's all about how you fully know about the camera you have on hand and know where to look. Love the shots of first juxta, man framed with the ferris wheel and cops frame with the concrete pillars.
Love this. Bring back the challenges. With your own special touch on them, of course
Thank God, you bring back a camera challenge. Love it!
Oh thank you!! I was missing the Pro photographer cheap camera challenge from DRTV. Thanks for bringing it back.
This was an awesome video Kai. Please set these up more often. It's like Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee with Photography.
Strong video. Loved the flow of the conversation and Craig seemed completely open to the discussion. Videos like this, and the prior series makes me think that there aren't terrible cameras just terrible photographers.
love it!!! much nostalgia to the old days with u and lok…. keep it coming! everyones looking forward to your videos!
Yeeeees!!! That was awesome. More reasonably priced camera challenges, please Kai
KaI, you made me interested in photography, specially these kind of videos; I looked at all your Digitalrev videos even before I had a camera. When I finally saved up enough for one everything was very smooth!.
Really miss the camera challenges, great to see one again. Thanks Kai.
We want more of this! I'd love to see it done with old box cameras, folding cameras, TLR cameras, etc.
I learned most of what I know about gear from you, Kai! I'm so glad you're still active. You are my favorite product reviewer by far. And I also enjoy that you do more content than just reviews, too.
YES! More like this. Not necessarily “cheap/toys”, but relatable for the average hobbyist. I think there are a lot of viewers who shoot compacts/bridge cameras... things within their budget (ahem 👋) get inspired to see what’s possible, and enjoy photography!
love the challenge and the workflow behind the great shots.
I MISS THESE! Thank you for bringing it back!
The toy Star Wars camera looks like it has better ergonomics than Sony cameras.
I will cancel my pre order of the sony a7IV after see this video :-P
and i bet it never overheats
Don‘t know what you‘re talking about; I love my Sony‘s ergonomics.
Sony camera is not ergonimic, is strange for me, canon and nikon is more.
As a beginner street shooter, this video provides so much insight, information, and inspiration. Thank you Kai!
2MP? 61MP? who cares about that, you can't play games on Sony A7R IV!
Or can you?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
can we run doom on Sony A7R IV?
@@riccardoredio I can on my A6000, so probably.
Big news, Sony A7RV is rumored to have snake!
Please keep doing more of these! You're helping me save me a ton of money on gear!
Appreciate the point made about street photo hubs and collage work - something that's definitely cropped up in the community a lot recently. Super interesting to get some insight from Craig on his work process.
I had literally forgotten about this, but did't know how much i needed this! more please!
I've missed these! Keep them going please!
Loved this video and hope you do more of these as I was a big fan of the previous series. I also really enjoyed the extra time you guys gave to this video to see sixstreetunder's photo flow and thought process. Great stuff (thumbs up)
Awesome! "The quality is crystal clear" at the end, that's just so right. Great content Kai, keep it up! Cheers from the Netherlands
Absolutely loved this. I really hope this is an on going series.
I love the images he captured. Craig kills it for sure.
YES! You've made this series your own! Zack and I met up recently and reminisced about his episode with you guys. Make more!
Gear reviews are great but I feel like I always learn a lot about how to shoot with these videos. More of these please!
Yes! Would love to see more toy camera challenge videos!
Please make more of these! Wonderful photo insights!
These challenges are something you should do more of, it’s nice to see them have to use simple equipment and get great results.
Would love to see more!! So much fun seeing awesome photos from a toy!
Brilliant, goes to show the photographer's talent is what matters. Must say amazing rendering from something that's meant to be a toy. Really enjoyed this one a lot.
It's aaallliiivvveee and we luv it. Please make more of these toy camera challenge videos. Cheers!
Loved it. Yes please, MORE like this please, especially with Kai and Lok.
four years on, still one of my favourite videos on this channel
Love Kai's videos. A fan for years.
This one was really inspiring - Lots of great tips! Already sent it to a bunch of photo-buddies:)
I’m so happy to see a spiritual successor to one of your previous series. This was fantastic and I hope to see more.
Loved that challenge you should do it more often!
Yeeeeees, thank you for this content ! I learned so much watching this serie when I started to get into photography ! Love it
More ToyCamChallenge videos! I liked very much!
Yes! This is my favorit too!!! Please make more toy camera series~ Thank you Kai!
Stop! Man with dog! 13:35. Back at it, great video and an amazing point of view. Loved it!
I love this series! This was an especially excellent episode, please keep them coming!
Thank you! Love Toy Camera Challenge! Hope you do more of these
I love these challenge videos. Once in a while.
And they’re back! Yup do more of these!
Love it Kai, brings back memories. More of it please!
Yea this was a cool format, I liked it a lot. Seeing his photos at the end was really quite surprising, I was expecting them to be quite a bit more noisy. Well done.
You know you need to do this series, this was the best thing.
Some of his shots were actually excellent
I thought I'd never see an old-style video from kai! More of these please! 🙏🏻
The was pure gold watching Craig's performance of its natural talent. Very inspiring. Many thanks! Discovering Craig will probably make me take off my 80D from the dusty bag.
So happy you brought this back! Saw it on my notifications and squealed a little. Great content!
Would love to see more vids like this. They're entertaining, but they're also educational. Best of both worlds :D
I absolutely believe that the photo of the silhouette was worth the wait. I definitely admired the police capture and the Chinese paper lamps
I like these videos because they are fun, and illustrate that its not the gear, but the process of photography that matters most.
I missed these! Glad to see them again.
Can’t like it enough, loved earlier challenges back in the dig rev days 🤘📸
Awesome! That's refreshing to see. The shots are impressive on this little thing actually. Nice job! You're right about the subject being more important than the gear. In the last year or two, all I've pretty much used is instant photo cameras.
It's true what they say: "the best camera is the one you have with you."
so work with that!
Thanks Kai, Lok & Craig
Thoroughly enjoyed the video Kai. I was surprised by the pics Craig was able to capture with the cam.
Learned a few valuable lessons and I hope to implement them in my photography. Thanks
I am so happy you are doing these again! Thank goodness! Can't wait for the next one!
Gosh this was the best throwback I've ever watched!
PLEASE MAKE THIS AGAIN I FRICKEN LOVED THIS FORMAT OMGGGGGG
