- this the unofficial worldrecord in solving the Mastermorphix on the Munic Open 2012
for all who think it was a DNF because I moved the layer before starting:
The layer was misaligned so I moved this layer less than 45° and this doesn't even count as a move.
I hope you all understand.

lol why is everyone going nuts over the move at the beginning. The WCA only says you can't do a move, if the cube is misaligned 20° and you realign it it isn't a DNF.

nope they are all unofficial, but there are official comps with fun events hold by the organizers sometimes.

If it was not in line it's up to your scrambler to fix it or give you a new scramble because there is no way to know if it was to go either way.

It didn' looked solved at the beggining. I'm yet to own one of these, but as far as I can tell there are a few pieces missing. I'd like to see at least a brief inspection.
Any idea how hard this puzzle is? I've had the Pyraminx for about a week now and did'n't take long to work out how to solve it. I only use one "algorithm" and even that I tend to manipulate depending on my assesment of the configuration. I'm yet to solve the rubik's cube as it seems to require knowledge of algorithms that make no sense to me. I'd like to add a shapeshifting puzzle to my collection, plus it seems it would follow similar laws the the Pyraminx.
This isn't a pyraminx at all, this puzzle has to be solved similar like a normal rubik's cube. If you can't solve even a rubik's cube, this one could be quite difficult. Perhaps a mirror blocks is a better puzzle to get first, even if it is solved exactly like a rubik's cube ;)

I was aware it wasn't a Pyraminx. I just mentioned my experience with it since it looked similar to the Mastermorphix. I've since seen that it's basically a morphed cube.
I think I'll give the mirror blocks a miss for now, if it's solved like a cube. Unless I can find something similar to the Pyraminx, but less challengig than the cube then I'm going to have to understand cube theory.
you could give the skewb a shot, a bit more difficult than the pyraminx but much easier than the rubik's cube.

it was a fun event at a competition. the solve was under official circumstances so it's kind of half official.
does anyone else feel like it wasnt mixed up just jumbled no offence to you but you seemed to use the same solve method as i but when you fixed the jumble only two corners were in incorrect position and only forced one algorithm to solve i personally dont feel that the mastermorphix was mixed well enough before it was jumbled
it was scrambled with an official scramble and you can also say that it doesn't matter if only corners were switched. The method I use needn't a shaped start. So you can't even say that it was luck or something like this.

I still think its awesome with that time you got on it and you didn't change the scramble you actually just finished the turn those who do not own a mastermorphix cant understand that but the turn wasn't compleate. I re-watched the first few seconds to be sure of that. - Side note - I am learning how to speed solve the 3X3X3. - Side question - any tips on memorizeing all 119 algorithms for f2l oll and pll? xD
First, thanks for this comment :)
Second, F2l is just learning by trying, I shouldn't learn F2L algorithms, cause it is better to do them intuitive, so you understand the moves you do. At the beginning you should learn PLL and after that OLL, but I havn't much other tips.

On my Facebook page I linked you to the unofficial world records page that is recognized by members of speedsolvingforum who are members of WCA =) You can clearly see there that unofficial events are listed as unofficial world records and this puzzles hasn't been taken yet. You can enter it there as that is what it is. Everybody knows this man. It's not official.
