Gee, this brings back happy memories! I remember taking my own video camera along this line. You get to see so much of LA that way because a lot of the line is above ground!
twenty years im still happy the blue in is here. buses dont last as long as trains do because they burn combustable fueals and bumpy roads rattle's them apart long live the blueline in 1963 i took my last streetcar ride in los angeles .30 years i waited . im glad they came back. thank you singwith for remmbering 29 years of the blue it;s worth it
@MsRudekid Yes, Los Angeles is the only city with the Nippon Sharyo P865 cars. Although St. Louis' Siemens-built LRVs would be able to fit in our light rail system.
If LA wants to solve smog and congestion problems in needs more lines like this... NYC is twice its size yet the smog and congestion proportionally to LA is much smaller
Boy those trolleys are noisy with the ding donging and the ditch lights. It makes the New York subway sound serene. Are they going to build anymore heavy rail in LA?
Armin2U: Bad News. The Nippon Sharyos are retiring soon and their being replaced by the New Kinkisharyo P3010s that just entered service on the Metro Blue Line
Now now! I saw trains go down or up in the train tracks. I notified to drive when I grow up. Trains had to go into that tunnel to go to next address. Of these (Long Beach of Trains) Of these phrases of tracklings for a day. Also we need those things to go in of these not allowing camera landscape of plaza trains.
Long live the Blue Line! Some say it's the most dangerous light rail, well I say fuck them because the Blue line was(and still is) the best light rail ever built. A worthy successor to the LA-Long Beach streetcar line. It's also safe to assume that those Nippon Sharyo LRVs have become a signature of the Blue Line.
i love these trains during the morring and 4-7 rush hour, it has be at lease 50-75 trains going one wway at any time, so fast and efficent =) GO METRO BLUE LINE WOOO
1:41 the other day i was riding and i saw the train with that livery. also do you know if they put the p2550's on the blue line yet cuz i read on them and they said they'll put them on the blue ling and i was looking in the cab and a greyed out button said Blue line Setup
Some of the patrons who ride the Blue Line are kinda hood and ghetto as it runs thru South Central and Compton and ive seen some disturbances/annoyances but folks dont bother you and being a lil streetwise helps too. Also the Blue/Expo needs a subway to meet the Gold Line near Union Station and grade separation and acquiring the parallel tracks and adding express services to long beach would really be cool. frieght trains already have the alameda corridor to work with
@PanzerVIZeke they are gonna put different cars on the line from what i have read cuz i was on a gold line and a greyed out button said blue line set up and there was a button for green line
The metro blue and expo lines will be connecting to the metro gold line at little Tokyo arts district station at 1st and temple..saw went I went there their building it
While aftet patrons work with aboard of Metro Blue Line is a train of transportation. Information of credit card of tap is to check it with V or X. See of already in Metro Trains or Metro Buses or Metro Costumer Center.
I see that... If these trains had to be in safe with fuels of engine that is a great idea. Patrons had to not go to the emergency trains. All of necessary on doing instrouctor of conductor to drive in a front. And 3 doors in a row of trains of transfer. I cannot believe that trains go slow. If these associate the situations. I saw these people goe there of a effective trains.
I would bring back the Pacific Electric horn and have all of the cars in the Metro Rail system painted red. Then with money borrowed from China (might as well, they own everything else), I'd oversee a massive. accelerated Metro Rail expansion program. The Red Line should be extended into the North San Fernando Valley. A proposed (or studied) extension of the Eastside Gold Line into Whittier should be built. The Green Line should be extended into the South Bay, if not all the way to the Blue Line in Long Beach. The Vermont Avenue Corridor needs at least Light Rail, if not a heavy rail line from Wilshire (where the Red Line turns north) to the Harbor Area. If it's going to be LRT, it should be elevated. and not at grade. The Crenshaw Line, now under construction, should be extended north to the Red Line in Hollywood. I'm thinking another east-west line should be built, perhaps along the Slauson Ave corridor. A line down the west side connecting to the Green and Crenshaw lines also needs to be constructed. This would be a start.
If Metro blue line if neccessary is caused in Pico/Aliso Station to go with trains while beeping. They go with fuels. Mariachi and Culver City travels of Metro Transportations of hopes of riding with train drivers. People sits down. Blue/Expo of patrons need best good trains of tracks.

I liked the bells, I wish they would have kept them instead of the new quacker horn.
Unfortunately today they still use the Quaker horns but these trains are retiring
Singwith, this is the best blue line video I have ever seen.
@singwith It's electronic. It plays the same chord as a K5La, just electronically reproduced.
I wish they had kept the PE whistle.
@MsRudekid Yes, Los Angeles is the only city with the Nippon Sharyo P865 cars. Although St. Louis' Siemens-built LRVs would be able to fit in our light rail system.
sweet video snuffy lots of horn and gong action
This horn is better than the new one.
we have new modern streetcars from Brookville with electronic K5LA AND some other electronic horn..it's dual horned..our light rail trains are too
nice ive been aat some those spot best spots to see the blue line
I love the Los Angeles blue line city train it goes from Long Beach to downtown Los Angeles
If LA wants to solve smog and congestion problems in needs more lines like this... NYC is twice its size yet the smog and congestion proportionally to LA is much smaller
Blue Line was the last PE Line to go and the first to return :)
Boy those trolleys are noisy with the ding donging and the ditch lights. It makes the New York subway sound serene. Are they going to build anymore heavy rail in LA?
fantastic Video 5/5 and faved!
I like the Nippon Sharyo cars on the blue and expo line

I miss Florence Station. I did my research project there for grad school.

Very nice job of videoing.
Wish the San Diego Trolley had an electronic k5la as well :/

I wish the San Diego Trolleys would use an electronic horn that sounds like a k5la like the metros do.

No Census! The new one is better than a horn that is old! HVORK!
I almost got killed by one of these cause these trains come every second and I had to enter the station by crossing tracks.I was at pico station.
Nice Video
This horn sounds like a modal amtrak
I love it ^_^

Where can you get these electronic k5la speaker horns from?
The train at 3:20 might be the older metro blue line.
3:20
Is Los Angeles the only city with that passenger train model?
Are those K5LA horns on those trains?
It stops between Azusa and Pasadena
It does now back then it didn’t
I see that...

The blue line really needs new light rail viechles
Broken Louie They got the Siemens P2000 which was taken from the Gold Line, and the recent Kinkisharyo P3010
Those ads plastered on the outside should be plastered on the inside.
1:15 the other tracks are those still active? on the right
1:15
Was there a celebration event?

God i miss the P865s
Same. I even miss the old red white and blue livery they used since day 1.
Hate the sound of those electronic LRV bells. Wish they used the real onboard bells. Once in a while you'll hear them being used.
@singwith well they sure sound like it!
Alejandro Montes
@singwith Electronic K5LA's
lol
