Thanks, For the insight! It is good to be able to see the hood opened and be able to see the mechanical movement. Had a little different problem but this help. Much appreciated!
EASIER THAN THE SCREWDRIVER!!! We didn't have a screwdriver long enough, but it turns out you don't even need one. If you squeeze your hand under the hood, you can just use your finger to pull on the top piece of the metal arm that pulls forward (see the piece that pulls down at the 2:06 mark of the video). Its the closest part your fingers should be able to touch. It has a 2 part motion, so it pulls down slightly at first, and then to release the hood, simply pull down a little further.
Tyler Williams awesome! I tried with my hand but couldn't, and I have smaller hands. Maybe if I had known how it works I could have done it. Thanks for sharing the tip
Arthur McDonnell it won’t stick per say, but you will move the handle up like a lever more. It’s hard to explain but perhaps watching the closeups again may help further
let's hope this works, I had a collision, hood off and closed, went to install a broken pvc hose and the damn hood would not open, let's try this thanks for posting
Hey so as I was trying to take off a bit of broken hood latch I took off the bracket that I believe snaps onto the release any chance u know how to get that back on? Thanks
Kiti I looked at it and couldn’t figure it out.. if it came off are you sure it didn’t snap off of the peg? It should go behind a little disc on the peg
Doug Cmelik good question, I've had other people ask the same thing so I will make a video on it. Most likely a broken hood latch cable, but we will need to get the hood open to replace it. I'll try to upload tutorial soon, be sure to subscribe so you know when, and thank you for suggesting it
bradley mcmahon the only advice I can give is maybe watch the close ups at 1:28 and see if you can figure out which piece could be malfunctioning. Sorry I can’t help further, it’s hard to know without seeing it in person. Good luck
@@MarkGuastella hmm , I assume you mean after you pull the release inside the car, try pushing on or jostling the hood to get it to release or maybe try prying it up with something that won’t scratch it such as a plastic tool or something in between the hood and bumper/fender. Hopefully that will get it to pop enough to reach the release under the hood. Good luck!
@@TheWindrunner88 I am going to try something plastic to get under the front of the hood because it is very tight to get under the hood it was opening up before with no problem till the mechanic touched it
I got the hood open and I sprayed wd 40 on it and it opens fine now the only problem is my horn alarm I have to find out why it's not working it worked before mechanic touch it what should I look for if you can help me
@@MarkGuastella awesome,Glad you got it open! I don’t know much about electrical, but I would start with checking the wires to make sure it didn’t come unplugged and then finding the fuse and making sure it’s good. Outside of that I’m not sure, best of luck
MRS MSW sorry about that 😬 it’s sometimes hard to get the filming done while working in awkward spaces and holding a camera, but I will work on it, maybe better editing. Thanks for the feedback
Kristy Asao thank you for taking the time to comment. I believe it was my Woods parkour video that you liked, I will be releasing a brand new parkour video tonight/ tomorrow if everything goes as planned. whether You resubscribe or not, thank you for the feedback. It works men hi from hermosillo sonora mex.
Hi! 🤚🏻 thanks for watching and commenting!
I have the same problem, definitely tricky to find...will keep trying. Looks like the screwdriver goes straight back. Is that right?
Arthur McDonnell pretty much straight back, kinda have to feel around for it. Let me know how it turns out or if you need any more help
@@TheWindrunner88 OK thanks I'll keep trying. When the flathead is in the right place will it "stick" in place then push and pull to work the latch?
