    I totally disagree on the negatives. If you are going to travel you need to speak the language and not expect all the locals to speak yours. Well travelled individuals knows this.

      Thank you for your comment L Ch. If you look at the other comments you will see that some people have pointed that out already. And while we agree with what you are saying when you are visiting the local town or even in a big city. We must disagree when it comes to an institution that lives off and its sole purpose is to accommodate tourists from all over the place. It's in their interest to speak English, or to mediate any relationships between non English speakers and English speakers inside of the resort. But we agree that our experience is our own and if it wasn't for our unfortunate event, our perspective would probably been different. However, we are here to give our opinion and share our experience.
      Like we said before, we like these comments because they inform the wider audience of the different perspectives around the same subject and help them make a decision with a rounder perspective, and not just our imposed one. Thank you

      Really. the guy that came to let you into your safe because you couldn't figure it out didn't speak your language fluently, and you make a big point of it. I met people there from around the world, english, german, spanish speaking etc. You expect a local hotel maintenance man to know all these languages. get over yourself, be glad someone came to help you. I've had terrible experience at other resorts where it took 2 days to get a maintenance guy to fix our toilet. Maybe you should travel more before you make such judgements.

      You DONT need to speak the language where you are going but dont expect them to know your language either be kind to each other and it will get you far

      Y’all are dead wrong because this is a RESORT!!! They don’t have to know English fluently but they should know enough to communicate… the tourists, who are mostly English speaking people, are the ones spending their money here so it would be in the resort’s best interest to learn English that’s a given…

    I agree with you on the good qualities about this resort. Another great quality and one that we found out to late in our trip, was that about 4pm snorkeling was the greatest along the shores like 15 feet offshore. we payed to go snorkeling in the middle of the ocean good experience. But the fishes we saw closer to shore were amazing. The time share I agree with you but I would just tell them I got one already and they would leave us alone. Other then that the staff was amazing we drink a lot of water and we told them to fill our fridge with water next thing to see we get a fridge filled with water but also a case of waters awesome.

      Great tip about snorkelling! Having gone to more and more resorts after this one, we believe even more that the staff wasn't the best thing about the hotel for us, but of course, we can only speak of the experience we had. And thats what's good about having comments like yours and others here, is that people who watch this video can get more than our opinion.

    Just visited this place. I agree on some of those negative items. The time share selling is very annoying. They try and capture you right as you check in. Luckily I had read reviews prior and gave them a firm No Gracias. The food on the adult side seemed decent enough. I think we enjoyed the tapas place the best. The food on the non-adult side is very hit and miss. The Japanese Teppanyaki and steak places were ok, but the Italian place served us very poor food and one item actually had something spoilt in it and had to be spit out. The upside - the rooms, pools, and beach were all enjoyable and that's where our group spent 80% of our time so I think it was generally ok. Breakfast buffet was also quite good. The servers mostly became eager to please once they realized we would give a few dollars for good service. On the flip side, I will say that about half the staff seemed surly and not particularly friendly. We did luck out in that our group had two fairly good spanish speakers for the occasional language issue.

      +Raj Palchaudhuri thank you so much for your reply. We agree the tapas place was the best and we have very good memories of it. As you might have realised we have a lot of comments here that disagree with us, which is normal when one voices their opinion. But it's good to see that someone shares ours. The more we travel the more we acknowledge the flaws in this resort. We are currently staying in a beautiful resort that is completely the opposite of the Catalonia royal Bavaro and we are loving it.

    I was going to book this resort but the negatives made me hesitate especially the breakfast part since it is my best moment of the day while being on vacation. Thanks for the video and your honesty! :)

    I agree in everything but not in the breakfast. Dude, there were plenty of restaurants with different breakfast menues, and a MEGA HUGE buffet with 1 million options, range of choice??

As for the breakfast, we didn't realise in the adult side there were more options for breakfast as we were told that was the only option for breakfast. But it's good to know and I hope any viewers will see these comments.

    I spend 2 months ever year there since 2013. This resort is the greatest! They know me and what I want and treat me like a king! I can party hard and the food is awesome! All of the staff is always soooo happy to see me whenever I come back. The main pool is so awesome where the bartenders just give me full bottles in the pool because I'm a regular! This review is bullshit!!!! I wouldn't spend 2 months every year if it wasn't the best place ever!!!!!!! I never had a wait at any restaurant and nobody ever bothered me!!! This guy has no clue

      +This Freakin. Guy thank you for your comment. This review, just like any review, reflects our experience at the resort. Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of being a regular and actually being well treated there. Any place that wants to have regulars should treat their new comers in a similar way in order to retain them as regulars. As you might know, our review states 5 positive things and 5 negatives, and this is when compared to other resort experiences we had.
      We still appreciate your comment even though we disagree. We hope that people who are looking at staying watch our video and read the comments so they can be fully informed with as many points of view as possible as we don't claim to own the truth. Thank you

      I couldn't agree more with This Freakin. Guy. This resort was one of my best experiences. The food, staff and service were better than I have experienced in many years of traveling to all-inclusive resorts. Including several trips to Cancun, Jamaica, Cuba, Grand Bahamas, Venezuela to name a few. I'll be going back to Catalonia Punta Cana.

    Selling on the beach is one thing,in the hotel is another. Our friends were robbed. Waiting two and half hours for a towel is unacceptable.The staff were rude. The food was nothing short of bottom line garbage. I survived on toast. The toaster broke one day. I went to the pool Cafe and😮 a bird was sitting in the donuts. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, horrible experience.

    I was rly looking fwd to this review. Until it hit the Cons which are RIDICULOUS. Garbage review.
    -"Rude staff": Your argument regarding "rudeness" is invalid If you cant even understand a word of local language and cant surpass the language barrier thus effectively conveying the related emotions back and forth.
    -"Not everyone spoke english": An aforementioned example, you expect the maintenance staff to know spanish, english, russian, french, etc. Get over yourself and don't dare say bUt eNgLiSh iS tHe MoSt coMmon.."..false. If it causes you grief not to be able to explain yourself to the maintenance guy that you dont know how to operate a hotel safe, you should not even be traveling lol.
    -"40 Minute wait": Apparently you never been to PC All-inclusives. This will always happen anywhere if you don't arrive early. If you arrive at 7pm+ for DINNER, and expect not to have to wait is pure inexperience.
    -"Not good quality food": Taste/Quality appreciation is totally subjective. Unless you're Gordon Ramsay, don't expect we take your opinion as a fact.
    The only Con I agree with: tourist get harassed constantly for sales and time-shares and other dumb stuff. Very Often. To the point where its really annoying and Ive had to complain. Happened to me also in the Princess All Adults, where they literally even asked me for a Soda from my room to 'seal a deal" (wtf!)

    Stayed at the 2 story royal bavaro....had our own pool. They neglected to tell us that a pool boy crawled across our pool to clean it in the early morning...long story short the pool boy is wearing a brand new seiko watch. Beware!!!!!

    We have travelled all over the world from the UK , not sure what hotel this guy stayed at but it wasn’t the one in this heading, as he is lying, we were here in November to early December 2023, food was great, no waiting for meals as it’s all done on an app on your phone, so another lie, and we were never approached about any time share, another lie, ignore this review it’s dishonest, I do t k kw what his agenda is, but it’s a very unfair review of this resort!

      We are exclusively talking about inside of the resort. Also I am not English, American or from any place that natively speaks English, yet I expect anyone in my home country, who’s job is to deal with tourists to speak English as it is the international language of commerce. So before you make a comment on me being “white” as if there aren’t white people in non-English speaking countries, you should maybe be less judgemental and make less assumptions.
