This is my favorite version of Magneto ever put on film, and THAT is saying something. The writing and acting are absolutely PEAK, especially for Magneto
He was phenomenal in this freaking episode!! Loved every second, and it makes me feel like i only want him in this animated series from now on lol. FORGET ABOUT THE LIVE ACTION VERSIONS. Consider me spoiled 😅
Love all of it so far, but who ever does Magneto's VO, needs a raise. Same for who ever is writing the scripts, because there were some banger one liners, "How good must we be", "Don't make me let you down", "tragedy lure's with fortune first", like OMG great lines.
Broooooo im with you on loving everything and legitimately all the one liners from magneto in this episode were 🔥 and i'd be willing to get them tatted on my lol. I currently have zero tats so thats sayin something 🤣
@@BobbyChill2 Yep, I`m also glad we`re seeing more of Erik`s more complex and anti-heroic side than in the original even though it wasn`t totally absent.(I.e. The Asteroid M and Phalanx Covenant arcs).

Yeah thats what i was thinking too, buuuuut I'm also kinda thinking they may sprinkle him in to fill in for storm now that shes lost her power🤔. Couldn't imagine how op the team would be with both of them and the rest of the crew lol. The power scaling is outrageous and i love the potential. You got me excited about the possibilities of the new mutants though, i dnt know much about em!
SERIOUSLY THO!! I am 100% happy with the show so far!! Give me more, and im kind of happy they're doing weekly drops too. Gives me a chance to catch up on other things as well
Thirty-six in July and have fond memories of tuning into Fox Kids on Saturday mornings to catch this and other shows The programming block wasn’t perfect by any means but will always hold a special spot for me in my childhood
Well i look forward to wishing ya a happy b day. Yours is the month b4 mine. What day? Totally agree the program block wasn't immaculate definitely will never forget the excitement i got from waking up before everybody in the house, sitting close to the tv and keeping the volume down not to wake anybody lol
I was weird to me at first just cuz im not used to it. The X movies have brainwashed me lol. Buuuuutt the pure bad assery he displayed in this episode has me warming up to the suit lol. It's really the sleeves i gotta get used to 😅
X-cutioner is definitely from the comics. They are mixing alot of storylines from the comics, including this new "Jean Grey" at the end. Wont spoil it.
Always appreciate it when ya'll are able to fill me in without spoiling!! Thank you and cant wait to see how things play out in these next 8 episodes. any idea on how many seasons have been green lit already?
@@BobbyChill2 normally 2 seasons confirmed and possibly a third one in development too. Some said that they want to do as many seasons as possible and do them back to back so you wouldn't have to wait too long between seasons.
Bobby, curious what you mean by agenda as the X-men have always been about the fight for equality, with Professor Xavier and Magneto being said to represent MLK and Malcolm X respectively.
What's up Ade, good to see ya down here!! Yes, absolutely, and I've always been a fan of the positive messages that they've promoted, and applauded them for attacking such subject matter. My "agenda" comment was in relation to some trends in Hollywood and even disney that i hoped they'd avoid in this show. Such as changing characters we know from the comics or just the show - i.e race/status / origin or orientation to come across as woke. I am all for pushing and preaching for rights and equality, just as long as it comes across organically and isn't forced just to fit the naration of society today. Although this is based in "97" i do hope they find creative and organic ways to attack some of the inequality and hurdles that are being faced in the world today. Sometimes, i think writers just struggle with telling a cohesive story without over focusing on social hurdles and for lack of a better phrase "try to beat ya over the head" with it. Sorry if that was a long winded answer lol 😅
@@BobbyChill2 not at all. I don't have a problem with reading lol. Of course, X-Men being progressive is nothing new, it's always been about diversity equity and inclusion. Something that struck me during this episode was Erik, who is Jewish, being brought before the UN to be charged with crimes against humanity just as Israel recently was. Magneto also used the line "The oppressed became the oppressor," which was very profound and reflective of what's happening in Gaza today. I don't know if it was intentional, but I hope it was and hope it didn't go over people's head.
That whole set of dialogue in front of the UN was masterful and i am with ya hoping that all of it was intentional and related to current day !! Give us more of that for sure.
Lets goooo!!! Thank you for reminding me of the release month! I'm trying to racap on season 1 now and then ill watch the trailers to gear up for what im expecting to be an epic season!
it's possible they're switching things around but the reference to the 'moon' and the pregnancy is a very old comics storyline. Storm being de powered is another old one but it's so good. Storm in punk gear is going to be gorgeous!
if you can get your hands on it, the movie The New Mutants was really good. it got stuffed around with a release date and i had to go digging for it but it's worth it for good xmen content. bobby dacosta is in it.
@@BobbyChill2 yup, that's the one. I think it's one of the best marvel/mcu movies I've seen in terms of allowing it to be it's own thing and not slick and polished like the bigger ones were.
Fun fact: the voice of Valerie Cooper is actually the original voice actress for Jean Grey in the show. It seems crazy given how different it sounds, but if you REALLY listen, she retains so much of her cadences in her speech. It also puts into perspective how the VAs have aged. I know-- BELIEVE ME--I know the voices here seem a bit off. I just hope people take into account that these people are 30+ years older now, and were already mostly in their 30s when they did these roles. Even Mark Hamill's Joker sounds more grizzled now than it was when he did it in the original Batman series
Ooooooo LOVE FUN FACTS! THANK YOU FOR THAT! I never would've noticed unless i looked it up. I think i heard storm has the same VA as well? At first it took me a minute to get used to the voice acting and the animation in these 2 episodes but i love it all now!!
@@BobbyChill2 Rogue, Beast, Wolverine and Storm are the OGs reprising their roles. And as mentioned, the OG for Jean Grey is playing Valerie Cooper. Which i love, cause while her voice is clearly much 9lder, they still cared enough to have her as part of this show as a major character. (Cooper is with the Xmen A LOT in the comics) The OG voice for Cyclops (Norm Spencer) and for Magneto (David Hemblen), sadly passed away. But gott-damn do their legacies live on in Ray Chase (current Cyclops) and Matthew Watterson (current Magneto). Ray ESPECIALLY sounds like a clone of the original Cyclops-- it's incredible
Whaaaaatt!! Man i love all the love they are giving to the og's by having them back. They are killing it as expected. So are the new VA and im so glad they are doing cyclops and magneto justice 🙌🏾🙌🏾

12:30 probably shouldn't talk over and ignore the anti-racism part of show and just focus on the action, the original x-men was NEVER just about that, infact as per the directors message if you take that out of xmen it no longer is xmen
Completely fair point!! Just got caught up in the moment as things started to get hectic in the episode. Fortunately the message and theme was sprinkled pretty heavily throughout the episode in adjacent scenes. So i was still able to pick up on the gravity of the moments and anti racism messages. Particularly with magnetos wntire scene of dialogue when on trial. Even with storms closing segment as well. Appreciate the critique tho 🙏🏾
