This embodies the Commando ethos...Once a Royal Marine Always a Royal Marine...an absolute giant among men. Bless Him
Once a Marine, Always a Marine....... By Sea, By Land
Absolute legend, every Royal that passes through CTCRM knows that dit.
this guy is a true legend, whenever i hear about anyone doing the 30 miler, i alway think about this old boy who is always there for the lads. How inspiring and such an honor to have one of the original commandos clap you over the bridge into a lifelong brotherhood it wont be the same without him his generation are a generation of legends and hero's and unfortunately they are fading out too quickly
True loyalty, not what others can do for him but what he can do for others. Salt of the earth.
Absolute hero that will go down on Royal marine history
A legend absolutely.
From the US: Much respect and god bless!

Three words
Absolute
Blood
Legend
Royal Marines are insane badass. From fighting from wooden Royal Navy ships of the line, boxer rebellion red coats, WW1 and WW2, with the US Marines at Chosin Reservoir, battling Argentine marines and Argie APCs in 1982 Falklands war and then winning many hilltop battles. A royal marine must know their history.

What a Great Man and so Humble
What a guy. Put your feet up sir,you deserve it. Total respect to you.
what a brilliant person and brilliant vid. Hope he lives forever!! incredible effort and awesome recognition
A true hero and legend in my book!
I never made the cut because I’m ridiculously colour blind, I was told if they could make a lower cp grade they would have just for me! One of the most disheartening days in my entire life. But I try to stick to the values and maintain commando ethos that I never got to embrace in my day to day life.
I am and will always be a flag waver and proud supporter of our armed forces as a whole but the Royal Marines in particular.
I thank you all past present and future
Hey mate, how about joining another arm and doing the All Arms Commando course? That's what I did.
Sadly not, my colour perception is genuinely that bad I can’t join any branch of the armed forces, trust me I tried them all! In 1995 I was on first name terms with the recruiting staff in my local office, the problem is that you are a soldier/sailor/airman first trade second. I work in the aircraft industry now, the only thing I am not allowed near is wiring/electronics! I sort of got what I wanted I work in tight knit group they are there for me I am there for them, we push each other on, the banter is great and in theory my future is secure, Coronavirus permitting!!
Memories. Seeing that bridge in the distance and getting your green lid, back in 78
