Climbing Breithorn from Italy to Switzerland - Unguided

- I always wanted to cross over a mountain range, but I never thought I would do it carrying 20kg on my back...
After climbing to Capanna Margherita, the highest mountain hut in the Alps, we went to Breuil-Cervinia, from where we embarked on an ambitious mission the following day -
Hiking over the Alps from Cervinia to Zermatt, and in the process summiting the Breithorn.
West and Central Breithorn are considered the easiest routes in the Alps, if attempted from the Klein Matterhorn cable car that is.
Doing this mountain from the base was a completely different story.

I think I need to start planning these trips…
Hahahahahahhahaha
Don’t buy a map: you’ll spend all of your free time just gazing at all of the peaks on offer. Of course, I’m a hypocrite, having bought two this week of the Monte Rosa area :-)
Breithorn brings me some lovely memories. Congrats to both of you. Cheers.
Thank you!
Awesome effort! Well done to you both! 9hrs in that terrain is tough + the heavy packs!
Not much happened the next day let me tell you that 😂
Thanks for watching!
I love how you think outside the box!
Congrats! Looks like an epic journey. Great video! From one hiking couple to another, keep up the good work!
Thanks for checking out the channel. Yours is an adventurous one too I see, I'll check it out!
Awesome videos on this channel! I worked 2 winter seasons in Champoluc which is a small italian ski town on the base of the Breithorn peaks on the Italian side. The chalet hotel I worked in was actually called the Hote Briethorn! I never mountain climbed like this but have a inch somewhere to one day do it!
It sounds like you have to do it, there's a story behind it and everything!
Let me know if you get to it one day, and thanks for watching the videos!
🙌
Yes!! I will 🙌@@TraintoSummit
I’m in Alagna / Gressoney right now and the amount of snow that’s fallen in the last few days has been epic. However, ever time you’re on the cable car, you see peaks that just need to be climbed!
Hats off to both of you specially to VIV because she is just came out of her hip injury and immediately completed this jumbo hike.....I myself is regular trekker so I understand the pains behind all this beautiful nature....Keep it bro....These hiking pains are much much better than pains from city life....Congratulations again to both of you !!!
Thanks for watching the videos! I'm always in awe of Viv and her ability to push herself. Coming from such a bad place and having to rehab her hip to be able to do what we did in the Alps (and then in Georgia) is kind of crazy...
Thank you for following our journey
🙌
Felicitari! Sunteți minunați! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice to see the mountains relatively quiet mid week. We climbed Breithorn just a few days before you on Sunday and the route and refugios were packed. Nicely shot.
From memory, that's what the hut keeper was saying too. I imagine that once the cable car opened, the floodgates opened with it as well😂Thanks for watching!
Yew! Another big day out. Views looked spectacular from the top. Glad you dodged the storm 💪💪
It was one of those, 20 mins after we got into Zermatt it HAMMERED down. Got so lucky haha
What a journey guys! Well done, full of admiration 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Marita!
