    just bought this saw and have 2 things I'd like to say
    1. you can easily rip 30x30" tile with this thing. lift the blade up and place your tile down. you can then do a plunge cut for the first couple inches then lift the blade and do another plunge at the other end. now plunge down and quickly lock it and finish the cut
    2. my blade wasn't square from the factory and the cuts at first were not that good. the back of the blade was chipping the tile on one side. loosen the 6 bolts under the sliding frame and use framing square to align the blade then tighten. cuts came out much better and once sanded it's pretty perfect
    this was my first time doing tile and this saw has made every cut I've needed to do my entire first floor (besides the toilet)

    I picked up a 7 inch, motor burned out half way threw the first job I did, 24 by 18 porcelain shower. Replaced it, new one works great, upgraded blade with one you use. Cuts great miters, the 7 inch has very little deflection. After the first fail, I purchased the one year replacement, got nervous. Thank you, I have learned from your reviews a lot and recently purchased the Diamond Back 7 inch but had problems making bevel edge cuts due constant small chips, I upgraded the blade but apparently purchased a poorer blade but I will now try RTC Razor Blade or P4. Need your guidance please on how to place/position the edge of the porcelain 24 x 24 inch on the Diamond tray before starting bevel cut. I understand the bevel cut is made from the tile back and the blade should not hit the porcelain glaze but besides experience is there any guidance you can share?

    • @LandbergTileTV
      @LandbergTileTV  5 лет назад

      It's a little tricky with a tile that size (24x24) for miters. It will simply take a P4 and patience. If you can't get close enough to the glaze, use a grinder and these diamond pads amzn.to/2XWRynH to remove material to get closer to the miter edge.

    • @jerrygrayson8421
      @jerrygrayson8421 5 лет назад +1

    I've been using this saw now for around 1yr. I like it a lot but I wish the top was non-slip material. I'm using it for small 3"X6" glass subway tile and the tiles want to travel/walk while cutting. It seems I have to hold the tile with a LOT of force to keep from slipping while cutting. In turn this results in chipping the glass, while not a huge deal around covered up areas but it shows around visible areas, like the niche. Does anyone have recommendations of a cover or "top" that has anti-slip or zero clearance for a saw like this?

    I've been watching your channel for a long time. I recently purchased this saw... Today as a matter of fact. All I have is the blade it came with and a 7in Ridgid blade. It's kind of a rush job that I have to do tomorrow, Sunday morning. You know how things go LOL. Is it even worth going to get another blade or should I just throw the Ridgid on and hope for the best?

      I'm going to assemble and test the saw for the first time tomorrow. Your recommendation, calling it a little beast had me sold LOL. I can't get to Avalon Tile or Daltile to get another blade although I can get a DeWalt blade (I know you love DeWalt)but all I have to work with is rigid and I have a lot of really tight miters to make. Also Limited material. Have you tried the 7in Diamondback blade at all yet?

    Good video! Do you think this saw is priced competitively? I have ben looking at 7 in saws to buy and the only thing I don't like about this saw is the price. $250 for saw plus $60 for stand plus another $50 or so for a blade makes it kind of expensive. The Ridgid 7 in with stand is only $329 with the lifetime service agreement. Looks like that harbor freight saw is pretty good quality though, thanks for the review!

    • @RavinJetta
      @RavinJetta 5 лет назад +1

      Still have to add a blade onto the Ridgid as well for another $40. I imagine you can use a 20% off coupon at HF on at the very least the stand if not the saw as well. So $369 for Ridgid or $340 for the Diamondback. If the saws are comparable than the lifetime warranty is probably worth the extra $30.

    • @LandbergTileTV
      @LandbergTileTV  5 лет назад

      As soon as HF allows the 20% coupon it will be worth it. Like Joel said, you can use it for the stand and maybe spending the extra $30 is worth the warranty. I don't foresee the Diamondback failing anytime soon. I'm going to put it to the test in the next 6 months remodeling at least 10 shower's and bathroom flooring.

    • @cfomusic73
      @cfomusic73 4 года назад

      In the UK you can probably get a Rubi DT-180 it's the same just different color and no back tray to catch the excess water. The HD here in the US has a 7inch is also that is the same. Looks like a Chinese manufacturer makes them for all the name brands but just different color. I personally don't like the sliding tray. It has allot of play if the slidding tray is fully extended in either direction. Very Poor Design! I do love how light it is and only kept it to do small cuts for kitchen backsplashes. But if your planning to do large format tile....stay away.....terrible! Look at how Landberg had to mark his line on that long cut.....he knew he couldn't rely on the sliding tray because there is so much play in it.
      Landberg you need to do follow up videos of your unboxing videos and be honest so people don't done spend their hard earned money on trash unless they know exactly what they will be dealing with.

    My question is on the miters. I think I understand that you barely cut into the front of the tile for a cleaner look...but what if it needs to be cut more into the tile? Is the cut still as clean? Does the saw make the cut look good or the blade? I'm thinking I just need to update my blade to get that clean of a look.

      I'm confused, what do you mean more into the tile? If you cut more into the tile the edge chips like crazy. I think that may be the question you're asking. Usually any new blade will make a miter look good, but mitering burns out blades super fast. We usually buy a new blade on every mitered shower project...
