The greatest part is that several of the dances performed in the video are still danced today. I personally know the dances, know how to dance them, and have competed with them at several world championships. It's wonderful to know that some of the traditions still lay within the dancing.
What a lovely capture of time and dance from such a long time ago i watch it quite a lot such dainty dancers im sure families who recognise anyone from the video will feel really touched .With ENYAS music backing, it brings a real nostalgia to it.
This is always beautiful to watch time capture a long time ago but endless iin its beauty I hope any family watching this video can find happiness in watching it the dancers are so delicate on their feet and Enyas music brings a great nostalgia to it I find it brings real peace I could watch it over and over lovely.

Hi Stephanie, my grandfather won the All Ireland Dance championship around 1910. Do you have any idea how I could track down any records?

So beautiful! My mom is in hospice and is from Co. Roscommon. We happened upon this video and it is a gem.

As an non expert, this style of Irish dancing seems very different to the more flamboyant modern style?
It’s just older.
@@scoutz0rsit evolved through the years but the basics are still there.
So much more classy and refined than those incredibly ugly wigs and outfits they wear today!
