I will definitely be using this pattern again. Seeing what you each chose to sew has made me want to try them too. The dress you did, and Jay’s hoodie, and Tammy’s ric rac trim! ♥️ everything came out so different!

It came out very cute. Thank you for showing that it doesnt always work out the first time. I still want to try muted toned fabrics. I tend to always use pastels and a lot of pink.

I have to tell you. Deron and I had a (just words) bet about what everyone would do, pattern wise. We figured you would do the Hat for sure, I said the Pattern F, Deron said, "And Beth will make shoes to match it all." I got such a kick out of that.

I'm glad you all finally gave me the push to use this pattern I've hoarded for years. The designs are cute, but yes, they seem unfinished. I noticed that when I was looking at the hoodie years ago, and it was a turn-off for me to move on to trying to use it. You demonstrated that we just have to use our own sewing skills to finish the pieces. Your outfit turned out so adorable!!!

I have two originals of this pattern from working for a large chain store. This type of pattern gets discontinued very quickly. This is the best hoodie pattern ever. I’ve had really nice results.

Thanks for yet another great video. I've got that hat on my sewing list. I would have tried a piece of bias too had I not seen this... I have old Simplicity patterns for Barbie, Francie and Skipper that I use (with some tweaks) for Blythe and find the 60-70's patterns have much more detail and information in the pattern descriptions.
Btw, the pants are listed as "for knit fabrics only" in the fabric section of the pattern. Great idea to use for the middie and also for showing how to change the pattern to fit with non-woven fabrics. Looking forward to your next projects 🙂

Lovely video Beth, really enjoying this collab, I've got this pack of patterns too so seeing you all sew them up has made me want to get them out again! Last time I used them I had some of the same issues as you, the surprise of not hemming/leaving raw edges on so many seams and my hat came out too small as well! The outfit you made is beautiful ☺

OMG Beth, You finally broke down and got the Dear Forest Deer Blythe Doll. I want her so badly. My birthday is next month and I am hoping I can get some money together and get her from Good Smile Company. If you go onto Ebay, some greedy people are jacking up the prices so high, I can't imagine anyone paying that much. I dared myself to make a similar outfit like the Dear Forest Deer outfit for my Lilly doll. I just got my non-stretch black velvet in the mail the other day. I actually have this Simplicity pattern and have never, ever used it. The different views are boring to me. I much prefer your patterns, or Professor's from Stitch by Stitch with Lily's. I believe it should of told you on the top of the Notions for each view what the fabrics to use should be? Simplicity is usually pretty good about that. You doll's outfit is cute. I love the Beret the best. For my doll, I much prefer dresses that are longer in length and look like a sweet little girl. I have collected some precious outfits for my Lilly over the years and she looks so sweet in each one. I will definitely make sure to send you a photo of my Lilly when I get the chance to. I usually have to have my husband Paul help me send it because I am not computer savy at all. I can type really fast and spell very well, but when it comes time to do fancy things, I get lost because it is new information. I didn't sleep well last night after our Thanksgiving dinner. I was up all last night blowing my nose and sneezing and coughing. I believe it is allergy related or the pressure of the snow storm we had coming in. At least I am draining and not so stuffy like I was last night. I would love to see the dirndl you made for Evie. Sounds adorable. When I married my son's father back in 1982 in Dec in Frankfurt we had the Christkindl market outside the Romerburg and I wore a German dirndl for getting married. It doubled as an Oktoberfest outfit as well. I should probably give it to my daughter in law so she can wear it.

Yes I agree, the pattern could have had more information. I’ve heard from a few people now who were put off trying this pattern because of that!

Some pieces will fit better than others, you would likely have to make some alterations. Barbie’s body is longer overall than Blythe, so sleeves and legs might have to be lengthened 🪡🧵☺️
