  • David Attenborough is worried. Why? Because we’re destroying animal and plant life across the planet. The leading cause of this biodiversity loss is land clearing. And the leading cause of deforestation? Animal farming - especially for beef. Find out how our appetite for meat is stripping the planet bare and why this biodiversity loss has David Attenborough so worried.

brilliant, definitely sharing :) one other thing you could have included is the IPCC recommendation to move to a plant based diet to mitigate climate change.

David Attenborough is currently a semi vegetarian and has reduced his meat consumption to be very minimal when he does eat it. He’s done more for conservation than most. Seeing the scale of what humans are doing to the planet and it’s inhabitants is unfathomable. We can all do something to slow it down, but will never stop it entirely.

Its Sheer Hypocrisy how can a Wildlife Conservationists Consume Meat
All his Life for 75+Years he relished Meat Served on His Plate and Now Suddenly get worried about Biodiversity.
He has confessed his love for Meat esp Veal, and Alsakan
    Wild Salmon...
    Same is With Jane Goodall.

The difficulty that we have getting people to do things differently is that even the people who have dedicated their lives helping other species are themselves caught in a timewarp. That timewarp is the english feudal system. It is Sir David and it is Dame Jane. To save the planet takes creative, dynamic action. That means not taking superficial honours that keep in place a system that does not evolve.

Many Conservationists and animal activists ate meat for many years. We have been brought up with the idea that we need meat for protein and that cows milk is good for us. It isn't until you re-educate yourself, bear witness to the atrocities that are imposed on defenceless animals that we change our behaviour. We now have scientific evidence what is happening to the world regarding climate change and animal agriculture. We know what is happening and I applaud these people for speaking out. Many vegans still like the taste of meat that is why they choose plant based products that taste like chicken, beef etc... It is the damage that we are doing to our planet and what we are leaving for our children and our grandchildren that we need to take action for and we need to act now before it is too late. In my life time I have seen such change and I consider myself the older side of middle age. Let us work with nature instead of against it. (quote - Sir David Attenborough )

Lot's of people have reduced their meat consumption. He is not a hypocrite and by eating more plant based foods he is on the right track. Put it this way, if more people around the world started to cut down their meat consumption to a bare minimum and actually come out about it (so to speak), then surely it is only a good thing? IMO anyway.

Thank you for your comments. It's important to remember that its never too late to start your journey to help create a greener, kinder world. Informed choices as a result of education will certainly help us. We all started at different points in our life and continued to learn as we grew. Together, we can create a kinder world for animals.
