You guys tackle so many hard projects by yourselves that you amaze me.
Look forward to more of this build. So far it looks great. ❤
I love how the stork sits and watches you build Your “ nest “🪹 !!
Deivid & Despina - you are so amazing in how you work together so well . Your building knowledge, along with all your other skills; the videography, music …. PHENOMENAL !
❤ 👍😘. I’m so proud of you!
Looking good!
Moving all that wood was a lot of work all by itself!
Your barn will look beautiful 👍
Your both amazing in your work and planning ethics , I personally raise my hat to you in total respect for your personal endeavours in the time you have been at your property in all you have done to improve everything in your ownership . . keep going guys your doing excellent work . from northern GB .
Good morning from Southern California. How nice, to wake up and find this video, waiting. Thank you, and may God bless, protect, and inspire you.
Great start..... What you can do is build the floor flat& level, and that window dormer level. The Barn level wont matter then. Easy fix. That view is going to be Beautiful. 👍👍🙏🙏🔨🔨🔨😁Be blessed .
You are so right. You’ll never be able to get anything in a barn that age to be level. In our area they used to do barn raisings. They built them in a day. Level wasn’t in their vocabulary.
I can hardly wait to see your masterpiece! Lots of hard work will pay off in future! Beautiful farm views !
You both really help my heart smile. Keep posting😊
That is one curious bird
"not perfectly square, but perfectly solid"......i LOVE this. and i love seeing how these old structures were constructed back in the day.
You are so brave hearts!! God save you❤
Hi to David & Despina from Canada. I watch all of your videos and am amazed at your many talents and work ethic.
The beam along the edge of the barn that David was jacking up needs to be better supported with solid wood uprights along that whole edge. Preferably sitting the upright supports on concrete like you did with the buckets. Having a solid foundation is as important as a good roof to secure all of your hard work. Can't wait to see the finished project ! 👍👍👍🤩❤
Today the stork is supervising lol😊
Looks good and grats on the sponsorship❤
Looks good, goes with the rest of the building style.
If you want to see your first and third beam in the dormer and simplify your framing, you will have to remove more roof tile and cut the purlins further back. You want your side walls that fill the space between the beams and the rafters (stub walls) to sit on top of the beam.
When you frame the roof - make certain your rafters give you a good overhang (eve) outside the stub walls. That is the best and simplest way to insure no water leaks between stub wall and roof finish. Keep the rain away.
You can use the surplus purlins that are in good condition and the roof tiles to repair the rotten gable ends of the barn. That would be a big improvement.
You can clean the roof tiles with regular household bleach (old school sodium hypochlorite) one bleach to two water in a big sprayer and soak the tile down. Next day, hose the dead moss and dirt off with a pressure washer, You can always paint the tiles for a different color than gray. Same is true for your house.
Please plank the floor before someone falls through and breaks a bone. Working like that is an unnecessary risk. :)
I enjoy watching your channel and content ❤ Happy little farm😀🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐😻🐕👩❤️👨
awesome work guys, coming on well hugsx
Nord VPN is great, I have had it for years. One thing I like about it is, when you want to watch a video or movie that has been blocked by copyright or some other reason, you can change the country you want for your server location and then it will play!
WOW the view from the guesthouse is going to be amazing
You are making so much progress!
Fun fact - NordVPN is a Lithuanian company.
Great progress!
What you are constructing to let more light into the area, here in the USA is called a dormer.
I like how the crane keeps an eye on you 😊Where is Evie & doggie? Great job can’t wait until it’s finished! Don’t forget the entrance please. Australia 🇦🇺
You two are such hard workers. Love your videos.
David and Dissey great video you did a great job to last forever outstanding 👏 👍 thank you.
Wow! NordVPN sponsored you, that’s awesome!!
Wow. Amazing
I think all the projects they do are fantastic, very good work.
❤
❤
Dessie is a sturdy girl.
In the USA we use shiem boards to level uneven structures. You can build around the barn and make it look even after the frame is completed
You could've made putting the top lintel in easier. Cut a L shape rebate on outside face that way you have a flush surface to attach your cladding to and you save doing an extra cut.
Great job and Great Project !!
Looking good 👍
My stomach was turning watching you stand there cutting the shape of the dormer. Would it not have been easier to put down a floor first?
Yes indeed would be, we hope to get the floor in soon but it's quite expensive! 😊❤️
David is like Latvian Spiderman😊
Looks good, curious how it will continue. You did have an issue with the sound of this video. I heard a lot of things twice
Bija interesanti skatīties, jo šādu darbu nebiju darījis. Lai veicas arī turpmāk!
I don't mean to criticize, but Devid, did you do the editing on this video? LOL :)
I love watching your problem solving!! Keep up the great work!!
Something went wrong with the editing
I had a look and it looks like when the video editing software had an update mid editing it moved some audio files luckily not all the audio! 🫠
Good luck with your new project 👍 ❤😊
Idk what level was available then but I remember my dad using a pan of water to see with his eyes if the water went level in the different spots.
Hiiiiii 💖💖💖
Excelente
😊😊
say you got roof of clean the moss of all of it good time to do
Nex time you use the chainsaw sharpen the chain pls
🥇🥇💗💗
Rest of the roof is rotten too. Aren't you going to clean that part
Yeah we have decided to take it all off and put it back on, the tiles are actually in good condition without any cracks or problems. The nails are mostly loose and the wood roof under is causing it all to be unaligned so removing it and then putting it back on will make it last another 30 years. 😁
@@DoBeDiff That's great 😍
Ohne Mittelpfette wird es lustig wenn die Sparren heraus geschnitten werden, lebensgefährlich!!!!!!!
Does this make anyone else a nervous wreck. Building this on such a shaky foundation makes no sense to me.
🌟👍👏🍀💐
The hell is going on with the sound in this video😅
100% would been easier to just build extension, demolish old building and rebuild demolished building. Patching old building like that is a waste of time and resources.
Absolutely. They could have used that $300,000 that they got from the VPN sponsorship........smh.
Good luck to you!❤
Everyone has their opinion. I know for a fact it's not something we could afford to do and the barn can definitely be rebuilt as it is! 😁
@@DoBeDiff Yes, it's just my opinion. I mean, we also couldn't afford to rebuild our barn and build a new house here in Latvia. We were pretty poor, but we end up rebuilding barn in a summer with only two people and house took us +10 years.
@@Bonkrr I know they getting very little money from sponsorships, channel revenue and merch sales, but I'm also Latvian with a countryside farm that most of my life lived poor and we still rebuild barns and build a house with just couple of people working on it. It just we didn't put all the resources and time into patching slum. They can do whatever they want and I can just leave my comment telling what they doing is weird.
📯🕘⏳⌛; i love the fact you Two try your best not to waste . And since barns "weren't meant to last that long" , why have a giant pile to haul when you Two are so busy . I myself love what you Two have built so far, it's all charming and convey cozy & hard work . 🫵2🪨💐
