  • Mike and Rich get some great supercap flights early in the session but as the breeze comes up they break out the micro R/C planes! Richie flies his Flying Aces Moth stick-and-tissue rubber job converted to R/C. It's powered by a 720 geared motor salvaged from a crashed drone Richie found in the woods about a year ago...couldn't find the original owner!

    You are so lucky to have each other as friends with similar interests. I moved years ago to the other side of the country and as we age it gets harder to find people to connect with. I like listening to your conversations even more than watching the aircraft.

      Hi Ray, sorry for the delay in responding. Hope you're doing well! Here's what I used for r/c micro gear, it weighs almost exactly the same as our capacitor free flight setups! You can order several different types depending on what system you have. We use DSM2/DSMX compatible type to match our transmitters. Richie says HI! -Mike

    Hi Mike the Cessna Skylane supercapacitor what propeller size & wingspan is it?

    • @sonex413
      @sonex413  2 года назад

      It's a half-size replica of the Carl Goldberg 1/2A Skylane (single channel radio control kit from the 1960's). The original is 42 inch span, the little supercap version is 21 inch span. It has a 65mm propeller along with an 8520 motor and 2x 10Farad supercaps in parallel. Flying weight is about 41 grams. Plans for the original Golberg version can be found at outerzone.co.uk and scaled to suit. Good Luck! -Mike
