  • The old forests of New England are loaded with history and much of it is visible in the rock walls and ancient cart paths. But a lot of it is also buried in the ground and that is why we explore and use the Fisher F19 metal detector . Today I went exploring way out there in the woods to see what we could find for the signs of colonial settlers and farmers being out here. At almost 2 miles out I finally care across old stone walls that appear to be boundary walls and not from farming. A quick look around and a great hike but lets go metal detecting. I found a loggers landing from the early 1900s and was digging up stuff they left behind when to my surprise I dug up a button at least 200 years old. Crazy but you never know what you are going to find metal detecting these old places.

One thing I wish you would do is state the date of filming either in the actual video or in the description.

Thank you for taking the time to produce great videos. I know it's gotta be a pain in the a** to constantly go back and get the camera. Lol. The end result is always a great video. The scenery is always beautiful. It always amazes me....finding things in the middle of nowhere. Makes you wonder just how much the land is really untouched. Seems like no matter where you go.....there's people stuff. For all I know, I'm sitting somewhere where someone lived in the 1600s. Never know.

@@Huntnlady7 I don't think so. There is no path for skidding logs out of those woods.

Awesome! Still waiting to find my first stone wall in the woods. I have found an old homesite and dump but not colonial…yet!
