By far the most unique take on it. The chromatics, the sprites and the characters are more expressive and actually react to what's happening around them.

I think I know why Edd was fine. My guess is that Edd saw corrupted people and thought it was a Halloween thing so he pretended to be infected until realizing it was not joke but a deadly virus

Matt was taking to himself in the mirror but since he wasn't listening and paying attention the darkness was able to easily corrupt him before he could do anything Tom luckily managed to prepare himself and used his harpoon as a weapon to fight against any corrupted so he tries looking for edd and Matt and Matt appears but he's taken by the corruption leaving Tom no choice but to fight against him then Edd appears And he's also corrupted but he manages to resist and free himself from the darkness and when he saw Matt corrupted he helped Tom and they both try to free Matt but when corrupted tord appears Edd inmidently gets worried and unfortunately tord was able to corrupt Tom since he's really powerful and they both disappear leaving edd alone to fight against Matt
