I have a model 82 just like it but with 4 inch barrel. Also have a model 83. Only difference i can tell between the 82 and 83 is tbmhe 83 has a higher ramp front sight and adjustable rear sight. Both have been really good revolvers. Also have a couple older Taurus 22 and 22 magnum revolvers.
That's a nice find you have there. The good thing about having this Taurus is that it is one you won't hesitate to stick it in a holster to carry, when a owner might not want to get a lot of wear on a classic older production S&W.
I have the exact same gun. It is basically a S&W model 10 clone. I contacted Taurus and they couldn't identify the serial #. They didn't start direct imports into the U.S.A. until 1968, our guns pre date that. I heard that Taurus used many of Smiths tools and dies in the 50's and 60's. It does have a fairly heavy trigger but any decent gunsmith can lighten it up. One small point with a gun that has a hammer mounted firing pin, you really should get some Snap Caps when dry firing. Love your videos and your taste in guns! Thanx.
This Trarus 82 is a 1992 model better than S&W model 10 they go for about $300 for a excellent one if you could find one buy it they are hard to find 🇧🇷💯👍
Damn, I thought that was a square butt J frame. That's a beautiful Taurus man. You always have great stuff, but that's different. I loke the snub and 3 inch Rossi 5 shot 38s. I want a blued and stainless ones with the exposed rod and even the snubs with the shrouded ejector rod. They are nice. Looks like a heavy barrel Mod 36 with an extra chamber. Really cool. I'd love to add one of those to my collection.
I mean it is his gun. He has a ton of revolvers and already knows. One time isn't gonna kill it. The other times he wasn't dry firing it. He pulled until the cylinder locked and then let go of the trigger. Smiths do that, my Taurus revolvers do that, Colt (old Colt from the 60's) doesn't. The point of no return is before it locks the cylinder which is kind of weird, but they have everything different anyhow. That one locks as the hammer drops.
Top, here in Brazil when I entered the police, I worked with one of this, excellent weapon, the same platform of Smith Wesson.
We always love your stuff. Brother

O 83 é mais encorpado ainda, uma verdadeira NÁVE ✈️
Thanks for the review. Just received a nickel-plated, minty 1970s 82 revolver. Have yet to shoot it, but it looks and feels awesome.
Beautiful revolver.

I miss the old Taurus
i hope your firing pin holds up. dry firing without snap caps a no-no
Are the old taurus model 82s rated for +p if I used this for home security.
Dry firing on an empty chamber is a good way to break the firing pin. Very nice revolver. I have the four inch.
Buy snap caps
