All looks great. Well thought out plan! Every gardener needs an outdoor shower! Some time I have to strip my clothes off in the laundry room I'm so covered in whatever project I'm working on!
Love the pavers. One of my favorite aspects of your channel is that you generally have a modern appearance to your design. That’s a completely different style from what I normally choose, and it has caused me to really be more intentional about the design in my own garden space.
Your place is really coming along in leaps & bounds Kevin, a testament to your hard work. Paving looks cool btw. Also: as a resident of the UK, I am able to walk outside almost any time of the year & get a free (cold) shower! I prefer your idea though...
I always wanted a huge yard with a giant rain effects scaffolding... they use them in Hollywood to make it look like it's pouring down rain in the movies but imagine a big nice yard and you can water them via rain at the flip of a switch...lol I think that would be so cool
Kevin, I watch your channel on my tv ALL day.. your home is GORGEOUS *goals*. I had to finally leave a comment on how your channel is getting me through these winter months in Pennsylvania. Thank you thank you *chefs kiss*.
The concrete steps use a finish known as an exposed aggregate concrete finish. For someone from the upper Midwest, an outdoor shower is a really odd thing.
An outdoor shower is so useful! I hate tracking in dirty after working on my garden. An outdoor kitchen is almost custom for Cubans in south fl, lol we don’t like the smell of food in our houses
@@gardengatesopen yeah lol we don’t like the smell of food clinging to our clothes. Or that’s what we think happens when we cook indoors 🤣 my family has been in this country for over 20 years and my mom refuses to cook inside the house ($15k kitchen inside the house which she remodeled a year ago mind you 🤣)
@@catnipaddict88 well dang! I never knew that!! Kinda funny too. I guess it would be difficult to live up North, huh! There must not be many Cubans in North Dakota!
This place is turning into garden Disneyland! I can’t wait for our next property; I’ll definitely be using lots of these ideas. I appreciate the detailed info on each project. It’s really helpful for us DIYers and planning ahead for future projects. Love the rain catchment, Gray water, solar and all the eco-friendly, sustainable project details!

Had an outdoor shower in Texas. Due to heat, we used only cold water and board panels to stand on and privacy. Was exactly to code- but Texas country living had no code to fallow.
It looks amazing and it’s not even complete 🥰 You are going to love that outdoor shower, we have one and after taking a swim in the pool and working outside it is truly wonderful. One suggestion, get one of those rain shower heads, we have a large one and it makes it more satisfying 🚿🚿🚿
First im always amazed at how tall u r! But YEEEEES this is def GOALS. I would die for an outside shower!! But dude, wheres our chickens lol lol -- im addicted. Living this experience through you lol
Look great, Kevin! I would like to do something similar. Have you already talked about permitting the outdoor kitchen and shower? If not, do you plan on discussing pulling permits?
Are you going to espalier any trees or vines along the fence? It looks so good for people with small spaces like me but I don’t know how to do it. And it looks so nice. Maybe you can plant a kiwi vine?
Very cool looking. Since the sink counter touches the house, did your crew factor in an ever so slight decline going from the house wall to the front of that area? I'm only asking because a friend of mine did something similar with an outdoor kitchen with BBQ and during rains he did have standing water, which is the last thing you want up against the stucco house. He called his crew back and they had to add more concrete to the counter so this drainage was done. You can't tell unless you place a glass of water on the counter, and even then the water displacement in the glass is only slight (not like it would slide off, but a marble will roll off if you get what I'm saying).
Does the street have a view of your shower entrance? Will you be able to walk from the shower into the house without people on the street seeing you? Is that a view-obscured dry area I see for you to dress before leaving the shower? I can't help doing the mom thing: worry. :) I'm afraid you will take your first shower, wrap up in a towel, and then step out to realize the neighbors are looking at you with their heads cocked slightly. Perhaps some of them smiling, a few with their mouths hanging open, and a few snickering, but all of them with their cellphones out. I say this after deleting my previous comment, "Let me know before you take your first shower so I can get my drone airborne." I thought it was a funny line, but then thought, "Wait, maybe he'll think I'm stalking him." lol.
Get out of my head Kevin! Everything I think about tackling at my homestead (down the road from you) - you make a video on. I was just telling someone that I'd like to put in a concrete sink after I finish a few more of my concrete garden beds (like the ones 'MAN about TOOLS' shows how to make in his videos). I'm just having a hard time committing to a location since it's pretty much permanent...
Big shoutout to Sara Bendrick and Francisco + his crew!

Did you ever create a Part 2 video?
I forgot to ask in the later video I saw. How did you plan all this out? Is it your vision plus a designer?

Yup, we may have to do a bit of testing there, but so far it seems good!
If you lived where I live in central WA, your outdoor shower would have to be in a heated area. Our high temp was 19 degrees.
OUCH!
