    Thanks for the video! There's not much content out there that covers this kind of setup in detail which is very helpful, especially for someone new to tractors.

    Patients and persistence pays off Sam. The struggle will be worth it when you're out tilling away for many years with that implement. Great video, keep em coming. 👌

    I just went through doing the same thing with my LandPride 72" tiller! It was a pain in the "A". I made mine work with my fast hitch. I laughed at you, because I got so mad working on mine, that I enjoyed seeing someone else going through the same problems!

    Dropped my BX off at my Brothers shop on Friday night and picked it up with my Tiller mounted and ready to go on Monday. It helps that he is a life time Mechanic and Fabricator. I think what you did will be something you can be proud of but I'm 69 and retired and my days of getting frustrated and greasy are all used up. I did pay him some even though he didn't want anything.

    I know that my comment is a day late and a dollar short but the King Kutter XB tiller is not quick hitch compatible but the King Kutter Professional is. I have a 2007 John Deere 2305 with a Harbor Freight Quick Hitch. I bought the King Kutter 48" Professional tiller and it hooked right up to the Harbor Freight quick hitch and i didn't need to cut the PTO shaft. I had to use the adapter kit on the implement to match the Cat 3 quick hitch but that was easy. I get that people want to buy implements that are the same color as their tractor but it pays to do homework ahead of time. I lucked out and my tiller just happens to be green but i would have bought it whatever color it was. Incidentally, I live in Pennsylvania and had to drive a couple of hours to get to a Rural King that actually had a 48" tiller. That being said, God bless and there iis no such thing as a wrong tiller. Just ask Tim. I also watch his channel every day. 🙂😊👍👍👍

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much for that information! I do miss using my quick hitch. I don't mind the Pat's Easy Change but it's not the same. You're right to say just having a tiller can't be wrong. I love it! If I did it all over again, I'd probably make absolutely sure everything I buy is qh compatible 😁👍

    Sam, your video was very helpful in getting it unpacked. I had the same issue with the "locking" kickstand not holding the unit securely up. You may have already discovered this, but the trick to make it actually lock has to do with swinging the bolted bracket itself up so the hinged offset is to the upper side and not the lower side. In this position the bracket now is high enough to hit a welded metal stop that it cannot swing past. Keeping the bracket against the stop, swing the hinged leg out and down and it will stay in place to hold the tiller.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  Год назад

      Thank you for that! I haven't used the kick stand since I bought it. I'll try what you said. Glad we could help each other!!! Awesome tiller, btw 😁👍

    Yes, the struggle is real. Some assembly required. I recently bought a King Cutter 48" brush cutter and wound up spending the better part of a day putting it together and running around buying tools and materials like snap ring pliers and gear box oil because it didn't have enough. It also came ungreased. Putting a slip clutch on it made the PTO shaft too long, so I had to cut that down by 4.5 inches. I found out the hard way that they taped the instructions to the underside of the deck when they got shredded while using the cutter. I went to their website and printed off a set, most of which appeared to be warnings.

    Just a quick note: On my quick hitch, I ditched the nuts and bolts holding the hook and went with quick release pins there as well. I have three different positions I have to use my hook, for my various attachments. Most are one or two notches down, but I have one that requires it to be at the bottom, and another that requires it to be at the very top. It is WAY easier to move the hook occasionally than to remove the whole quick hitch and put it back every other week.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  Год назад +2

      That is a great idea! The Pat's easy change is okay but I really miss using the quick hitch. Having the ability to move the top hook quickly would solve my problem, thank you!!!

    .. Just setting up a new tiller for myself ..... Kickstand works great but on dirt not concrete .. I purchased the PAT'S hitch connectors from watching a video on them ,, also have other implements ,, sets up great and easy for all ,, just have to remove the spreader adj. link after lower arms lined up ,, it gets in the way of the PTO driveline ....

    • @samsdoinstuff

    Just curious, but would it have been easier to mod the quick hitch hook to work with the implement? Are you now just leaving the Pats system to this implement

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  2 года назад

      The Harbor Freight Quick Hitch was set up to match all of my other implements and if I would have changed it to match the tiller, it wouldn't work for the others and I would have to move that top hook every time i wanted to use the tiller. The Pat's Hitch System will work for everything regardless of the pin positioning. I will definitely be leaving the Pat's system on.

  • @briangc1972
    @briangc1972 Год назад

    @16:40 the complaint the top link is too short is not valid. You installed the Pat's lower hooks which add 4" to your lower link arms. That is why your top link is too short. If you add Pat's hooks to your lower links then you almost always need to buy a longer top link. That is your bad, not KK's

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  Год назад

      Sorry never meant to give that implication. I'd actually love to put a hydraulic top link on and lengthen it in doing so. Yeah, definitely not KK's fault 👍

    I was kind of chuckling throughout the video. I remember when I got my 60" Woods tiller for my TYM T264. I did so much research and watched some of the same videos you did that I had my plan memorized. TTWT actually had a few posts because he was afraid he confused people. It was obvious you were getting a bit frustrated and may have had to do some editing. Anyway. Do you know what's worse than all you went through? Out where I live we are all on 3 -10 acre estate lots and we all have Morton type buildings and I may be the only one in here not retired from the TWA overhaul base. They are all about 15 years older than I am and if you leave a light on one or many of them will show up to tell you what you are doing wrong. That was my issue! My tractor has a quick hitch and no issues. I already knew the cuts I was going to make and they each had a different way to do it and none of them knew I had it all down. I kept telling them "I'm not building a watch, I'll get it close enough!" It was really killing them. Once I had it on and running perfectly, one of them said now you need a pallet with wheels so you can roll it around. I pointed to the corner and said "like that one"? I really did have it all down and I think I had those old fellas as worked up as you! lol The were just dying to get in and hands on and debate and smoke their pipes for a week! One piece of advice (I'm only 56) the spring pack on the PTO shaft should be sprayed liberally your first use each year and a time or two throughout. They can rust together and you will have twice the headaches. Great job, I'm sure I will see the tiller put to use.

      Great story!!! And thank you 😊 It was obviously a first time for me and a learning experience. The struggle between paying someone who knows and learning myself is on-going. Thanks for the advice to prevent rust!!! 👍

    How do you like the Pat's easy hitch...

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  Год назад

      It is definitely better than just a plain 3pt. Getting telescoping stabilizer bars is a must because the Pat's is a pain if the lower arms swing freely. Pat's definitely doesn't even come close to how easy a quick hitch is but it works with absolutely everything and the quick hitch does not. Hope this helps!

      @grantparnes On a good note, the tiller is built very well and tough as nails. I'm very disappointed in the paint. It has chipped off in several places now. I will most likely wire brush, prime and paint where it has chipped. Good luck and I would definitely look for a gear driven unit with the largest number of tines. 🤠👍
