I've freeze framed this many times. Looked at peoples comments. Many years ago I'd have thought it ludicrous, what I'm going to say now. BUT I've looked through this 3 times. The Paul here has an entirely different personality today. He's in love with himself. Paul here on this video is humble polite etc etc Yet he was the number 1 poster boy (sorry lads!) So I'm starting to believe the theory that they're two different people.
I've studied enough to know that they're two different people but after buying that Billy Shears is a totally unrelated person, I'm beginning to suspect that the Paul from 1962-1966 one one McCartney brother and the one since 1967 is the other brother. In other words one is Paul and one is Mike. Even when I was 9 years old I noticed how the two brothers in photos from when they were 6 year olds (or younger) seemed to be about the same size and age.
Same. I thought the idea was crazy at first but when you dig deeper the evidence only gets more compelling the further you go. I'll conceed that Paul might not have been replaced as I admittedly I don't know everything, but I personally believe that he was.
@@Akhenatonification I have wondered about this theory. There is a photo with their mum, sitting on a little hill and they look like twins. Is it possible? The man they put out there as Mike, JPM’s brother, looks nothing like Paul. There are also photos of Billy in the entourage as they all returned to London after the first U.S. tour. There is a resemblance between JPM and Billy. After plastic surgery one can see how Billy could have replaced Paul. But there are obvious differences. The souls are completely different, IMHO. A very wise, articulate middle class Scouser at age 21. No broad working class Liverpool accent at this young age. He must have acquired it as he got older.
Paul was working class, not middle class. He was thirteen years old before his family even had an indoor toilet. Paul's mother was very concerned about her son's moving up in the world and encouraged them (as she herself spoke with a more genteel accent) to not speak with the heavy Liverpool accent. Paul was bright and was accepted into a relatively prestigious high school in Liverpool called The Liverpool Institute High School that educated its students with the same refinements as schools like Eton and Harrow where he would have also been influenced by their more subtle accents.
McCartney never spoke with abroad Scouse accent. Btw, his mum(the breadwinner in the family) was a midwife so the family had some privileges like the best possible council house in pristine Allerton and she gave birth to him in a private ward. But if any Beatle was middle-class, it was Lennon who was brought up in leafy Woolton.
Very interesting interview, a rare one where they don't ask dumb things like "how do you spend your money?" or "how do you like Australian girls?" I find it especially interesting that as early as 1964, Paul caught on to the fact that the Beatles had a uniquely eclectic set of musical influences.

I love how he was so honest in this interview. One of the things that I admire about Paul is that after decades of this constant adoration of fans, he remains a down to earth likable normal guy. He knows who he is and he is confident but he never comes off arrogant. He has handled his fame better than I think most people could.
Real Paul was a humble guy. "Sir Paul" (William) is nothing like him. William have a huge ego.
What a brilliant talent -- Paul turned 22 on the day the Beatles arrived in Australia June 18, 1964 -- at the time of this interview he had no idea the classic songs he would be writing with John Lennon and on his own as a Beatle --
Paul never had a solocareer. It was William in "Wings".
The Beatles arrived in Australia on 11 June 1964, not 18 June. He and John had already written several classic songs by then, go listen to the 3 albums and several singles they had made by the time of this tour.

Was there anything like it on the American scene? No equivalent...? NO... especially not the "surfer," the "folkie" or the later Motown "sounds".
This is truly a great interview. Interesting questions, for that time.
Interesting questions, and Paul's answers were also great!
Paul is always honest when speaking to the British press. The problem was as he says pwople (mostly inthe USA) want him to just give answers they "expect' to be told.

I wondered a bit about how these guys thought about the kids screaming about them and worried they would misunderstand what it all means, but I’m so comforted by knowing at least one of them got it. It’s really not sexual or hysterical… and then I remember, he was and is a fan of someone else’s too. Of course he knows.
These guys made music so insane that I never really connected them being someone else’s fans and acting the way fans act. And it’s not a standard answer either. Very interesting and simple but it’s the kind of thing you forget about when the person you’re a huge fan of is a person too and other artists’ fan as well. The Paul here has an entirely different personality today.
He's in love with himself.
Paul here on this video is humble polite etc etc
Yet he was the number 1 poster boy (sorry lads!)
So I'm starting to believe the theory that they're two different people.
Real Paul McCartney was humble and cared for his fans.
They are two different people. Rip Paul
This footage validates it. Let me know what you think.
The original Paul. What a cutie!
The real difference is now 'he' has to think before he answers and generally only does a couple of lines with no real facts, humour and not articulate as before. What a luvly lad he was!
He's 80.
I wish I was that mature at 21...to take the magnitude of it all all psychologically, speak so eloquently, and still have room for humility is breathtaking. Will-I-Am is a total dk in comparison and I get why JL was the first to crack in the end and get aggro with Will-I-Am. I think I would have done the same!!!! George and Ringo were always behind JL. The OG 3 were all trapped inside an artificial product they no longer had control over and were being handled. JL sabotaged it all to give the OG 3 an out. JL killed The Beatles and "they" didn't forgive him for it, or forget, they made JL's life a total hell, he couldn't travel back to England to visit his Aunt, or son, and then the cowards took him out. Spineless, control freak cowards...the lot of them. RIP Paul, John, George. I really hope Ringo outlives Will-I-Am so het gets to spew the truth into mainstream before he pops his clogs. Now...that would be one hell of a Netflix limited series. Yeesh!!!!!
Oh oh I'm falling in love
With a dead man.
A very wise, articulate middle class Scouser at age 21. No broad working class Liverpool accent at this young age. He must have acquired it as he got older.
Ok I didn't know that
Ha ha !! 🎯
