    I am so excited to share this with y'all! Lasers can be intimidating, and xTool has cracked the code for making it a little less daunting! At first I was a little skeptical, because a 5W laser doesn't really do all that much, but holy cow this really has a LOT of uses! I was able to cut through 3mm plywood like a hot knife through butter. ALSO since it's a hybrid machine, it has a blade cutter! AND IT'S FAST...
    So let's get this out of the way: YES they provided it to me for evaluation. NO they did not pay me for the video. YES this absolutely has a place in my crafting space even when I own larger lasers and craft cutters! NO it won't break the bank!

    I know I should let other videos "soak" for a bit before uploading, BUT I WAS TOO EXCITED....... I really wanted to share this. Also, going to be streaming tonight (Tuesday, Aug 8th), so if people have questions, I can show it off!

    This is the one I’ve been considering. You are the first person that said anything about the little cuts that the rotary blade makes on a craft cutter. I WAS considering the SnC specifically for cork. I would not be happy with the tiny cuts on the corners.

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  11 месяцев назад +3

      It drives me NUTS. It's usually in the seam allowance, so it's not a huge deal, but it does kind of irk me a bit. It's also super slow to cut on a craft cutter in comparison with this blade machine. The blade doesn't have to be pivoted around to make the right cuts like the rotary blade does on a Cricut. I just prefer this more... thing is, the Cricut won't dial in the right settings and cut fabrics if you don't put the rotary blade in!

    I NEED this in my life. I have a scans cut that I really like but these days doing more bags and other crafts and wanted to move to the laser. Also because I like having all the toys. This two in one is the solution.

    Hey thanks for this video!! There is an amazing deal on this machine right now and I’m sick of the limitations or even having to do multiple cuts on my craft blade machine for thicker materials. It’s hard to find reviews on the 5W, most are of the 10W but you’ve definitely showed me that this machine is worth it, and will handle everything I want to use it for. I love that it’s practically plug and play which is great for a laser beginner like me!

    I have an Xtool D1 Pro 20w that I use primarily for cutting 3mm basswood (one pass). How does the M1 5w fare with 3mm wood? How many passes does it require? Considering buying one of their refurbs as a second laser.

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  8 месяцев назад

      I was able to cut it with a single pass. The 5W isn’t half bad! I did need to use 100% power though. If you’re doing that often, you may want to go up to the 10W!

    What is the best to use for cutting canvas or duck and quilting cotton?

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  10 месяцев назад +1

      Like best in general or with the M1 specifically? The diode side of things is what I'd use on every material OTHER THAN materials that have PVC in them (vinyls and waterproof canvases). At least, those are the only too fabrics I use that have PVC. There could be more, so it's always important to check the contents of your fabrics before you choose which method to use on the M1.

    I would love to see a video on how you go about using your CO2 laser to cut out bag patterns!

    • @fiercekittenz
      @fiercekittenz  11 месяцев назад

      I can do that! I do *mostly* use vinyl and waterproof canvas these days. Those can't be cut via laser at all due to the PVC content. The canvas I have would work great though.

      @@fiercekittenz I am betting that I am not the only one who would say that you have created a monster. I’d watch anything you posted because you’re a hoot (I wish you were my neighbor!). I bought a LaserPecker 4, for which I am patiently waiting. My husband will probably murder me if I told him I wanted a CO2 laser…but I do. Most of my bags right now (which I have not sold yet despite many people asking me for them) are made mostly of designer quilting cotton. If I could cut my fabric with a laser that would be awesome-I hate the cutting, though I do enjoy interfacing, for some weird reason. ;) I would love to see how one would cut a bunch of stuff at once-the CO2 seems really fast!

      @@cynthiasymons ok I will do that! I am NOT partnered with Thunder Laser USA, so at least when I talk about that laser it doesn't seem like I'm shilling. I truly only review things I believe in and would use for myself. I get so dang excited about these. I actually bought the protective cover for the LaserPecker3 so I could take it to outdoor markets and offer personalization on the spot!

      They did! I'm honestly a little shocked. I only just got into lasers back in February. I posted ONE video on how to use the Gweikecloud Pro II (I bought that one) and suddenly, everyone wants me to review their lasers! I'm totally down for it, just don't want to upset the regular viewers here. I really don't want them to think this is now a laser channel. I try to mix it up and such.
