You’re a great teacher Julius, I learned an awful lot there. Thanks a million!
Happy to help! Thanks for the kind words. Please let me know if there are other things you'd like videos on (with the Kronos)
Thanks bro..this was the exact tutorial I was searching RUclips for!

Very Cool... Thank You for explaining the process and making it Easy to understand :)
Thanks for watching. Let me know if I can help with any other specific info for the Kronos.
@@JuliusDeBerryJr Thank you :)
That was awesome just what I was looking for, so you can actually construct an entire song including an entire drum track if you just follow the steps. So looking forward to it.!!!
Thanks Timothy. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Let me know if there is anything else that I can do to help. Please subscribe to stay in the loop on new Kronos videos. Thanks again.
Okay now that I actually have the keyboard it's not working when I push the drop down from the pattern edit it doesn't highlight the (put to midi track) option for some reason. what am I doing wrong?
Thank you Julius for these tutorials. God bless you
Glad you like them!

Julius... I am the guy you referred to Sigurd. Thank you for your video. I have subscribed and will watch more to be able to learn how to sequence on my Kronos. I really want to learn how to use this thing to record and compose. Thank you!
Mark Gardner thx
Excellent tutorial, thanks a lot, Julius!
If you press LOAD TEMPLATE SONG, from drop down menu, you can preview beats, you have to use physical button, ie seq start stop, and you can't change selection until you press stop, so use the wheel to select with left hand to scroll thru quickly
Julius I need a new video , I need to know how to import drums samples from my flash drive into my sequencer so I can use them in my sequence?!?!?!?!?! I know you got me
i can try. have you subscribed so you can keep up with new videos?
Thanks for the video! But how do I create my own drum patterns? I've lurked the net for a while with no success in finding the answer. Basically I want to create a simple metronome track. Kronos has two metronome drum patterns pre-loaded, but both of them are with first note accented, which I don't like. I wish to have plain and clean metronome with all beats played with the same sound. I guess there should be a way.
Thanks in advance.
I was planning to do a Kronos video today. I will make this a priority. I'll try and get this up for you today. Please subscribe so you can get notification of when it is uploaded.
@@JuliusDeBerryJr Thanks a lot! :) I've spent some time digging the interface yesterday and eventually I've found a solution. You simply need to record a song in the same sequencer mode using any drum sounds you like and then go to "Pattern/RPPR > Pattern Edit" and tap "Convert to Drum Track Pattern".
Yet I believe, the video covering this would be useful for other people though. :)
@@kolobamanacas ruclips.net/video/31y-AuIfrnw/видео.html check this out.
Hello Julius. There is an easier way. When you record a song, you only use channel 2 for the drums. You can then set the bars with the beats in the track view, where all tracks are also audio. Everything goes through the normal drum mode. You just keep repositioning after recording your measures and you can deposit everything on one track. So you do not need to go over patterns. Everything that does not fit you can indeed cut out or stick. I'll try it for 2 years and it works.
I'm not sure I'm following what you mean... Can you re-explain another way? Not sure how I just saw this comment.
Simple and sweet. Thanks!

Thank you. So much brother I just got my kronos73 V3 and I need your help keep making videos
What are some other topics that you'd like to see videos on?
Thank you so much Julius your videos have really helped me in the last few days take it step-by-step so that I’ll be able to create the type of music that I am aiming for. Right now I’m still utilizing and learning set list how to convert to waveFiles to USB and that’s it for now. But I would definitely stay in touch with you keep making these videos man the Korg Kronos community needs you
Harold, are there any other concepts or subjects that you would like to see videos on?
Thank you Man!
No problem!!! Glad you enjoyed it!!
Thank you Julius. Simple logic
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Please stay connected!!!
Beautiful. thank you very much. new subscribed .
Thanks for subbing!
Thanks Julius ! You saved my day
Thank for the explanation. I just got my Korg Kronos 88 and its a monster instrument. Ok, I do have a questio for you. Just like drum patterns, are there any guitar patterns in the Kronos. Please respond.
No problem. Thanks for watching. Maybe not guitar patterns per se, but karma can generate alot... Almost in arranger/backing track fashion. You initiate a karma module and play a note or a chord. It's like an arpeggio on extreme steroids.
And you can have multiple karma modules generating patterns at one time. It's very complex with multiple layers, but at its core... It's not crazy to generate some nice riffs. Where stuff gets crazy is the customization of those riffs. That will take some deep diving. Lol. But karma can get you started down that road.
Best demonstration.
Thanks!!! Please like and subscribe!
Thank you very much for your help!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.. please stay connected !!
yes, that fixed it...wonder why it was set that way? Now, I'll continue your video...
great!!! yeah may have gotten set on accident. is this the first time you have used the sequencer...and is it a used board?
Hi Julius, I put New Orleans with a Jazz kit on the RPPR page. It played beautifully live but when I went to record, it defaulted back to only the jazz kit (with that horrid "whistle"!). Also, nothing recorded w/o Karma latched. What did I miss? Thanks for your kind tutorial.
I’m not sure I understand what happened, but it may be possible that you didn’t have the correct program selected within the song/track section.
Julius, thanks so much for reaching out to me personally. I feel God has led me to you, and that you can truly help my confusion. Looking forward to talking with you further.
Now that's how Tutorials are supposed to be done!
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you find some other content on my channel that you like!!!
yes, I think it was, and I just had the circuit board replaced from Korg on warranty...
oh wow. well I'm glad that was under warranty. may have been pretty expensive otherwise. let me ask though. are there any other concepts or topics that you would like to see covered about the Kronos?
697 drum preset patterns - I wonder if there's ONE that's a 5/4 pattern that would work for me in a particular instance. I double on flute & would LOVE to be able to sequence the background to a classic Jethro Tull song called "Living inThe Past." Asking too much? Thanks, in advance, for your time, if anyone gets a minute!
I'm not sure, I've seen a 5/4 preset pattern but you may be able to create your own.
Thank you !!
You are welcome. Glad it helped!
I can get drum sounds out of the keys but I cannot get the pattern to play. what am I doing wrong?
Are you adding the patterns to the actual measures?
I'd need to see what you are doing though. Something has to be getting left off though.
You followed the tutorial exactly like I showed it?
Okay so I got my Kronos today and I know I said your information was great and I think it is but something's missing because when I try to get the drums to play I'm getting nothing
You sure you followed everything I put in the video?
Thanks Julius.
I like your demonstration it is amazing...but i have a questio.. please after making my song how can i save it in thand an extere kronos memory?and on an extermal usb?...After making the song i save it as i know then aftrt switching my kronos and on it back i could no find my song again...
Aristide Ligan I am having a little bit of a hard time understanding the question. Can you please rephrase it.... I will try my best to help. Thanks again for watching. Please like and subscribe.
+ARISAX ARISAX Check your manual if possible or grab the one offline from the Korg site. I usually use the disk command to save all (PCGs, EXEs, etc.) from the menu and name the set of songs. When you turn the Kronos back on, you will have to go to the disk function a load what you have saved in order to bring the songs back up. You can save more than one song setup under the same file name.
On the motif it's very easy to make pattern sections...you have pattern A TO H which you can put the intro on A, Verse on B, Chorus on C, Bridge on D...etc... It's very hard to figure that out on the kronos...let me know.thanks
The Kronos doesn't have that ability. There are "workarounds" but Yamaha's pattern mode (in its pure form) is not available for the Kronos.
I will go over a few things in the video that I'll post soon that may get you started in that direction though.
Take a look at the RPPR pattern tutorial you can assign various patterns as you mentioned and name them as such ... Just a different way to approach similar function. There is a video by korg on that ...its old but practical
RPPR MODE IS DEF NOT THE ANSWER
You're the Man!!
Just one of many!!!!
...and your quarter note says "120.00"...Mine says "EXT" and I can't change it...do I have to bring this thing in for repairs AGAIN...?
no. the EXT stands for external. meaning the keyboard is synced to some external source for tempo. go into your global settings and then to the MIDI tab and change it to INT (internal)
Thanks....i am trying to figure it out but it's kinda confusing...i can't wait until you show me..thanks for your time
No problem.
does this work in Combis as well????????? Thanksfor your help
This is more for sequencing. But I have a video posted about using the drums track feature and they can be put into combis.
@@JuliusDeBerryJr Thanks once again !!!!! Learning this workstation is pretty tedious but iam slwly learning day by day.

Hey Julius, I'm an Asian guy.I have Korg kronos with me and trying to creat my own drum patterns. I followed you path but I'm really stuck with these things
1. Drums breaking ( Tom roll and etc )
2. Splinting ( How to split the drum loop when playing the loop - stop drum roll and breaks between the song )
3.Ending ( how you end the song when you done it with a roll or fading etc )
4. How you creating a drum loop finding assign keys ( the video you shared us only half away through ?)
5.Once you done the drum track how you save it and get in to the sequencer to create the midi track ?)
I know its lots of questions.. If you can upload all these thing in a video is great..
Thank you
Regards
SAM
Good Question.I have the same question. :-(
I don't really understand the question. I'd like to help though. I'm just seeing these questions though for some reason..
Hi Julius , I also have these questions because I were also a Yamaha Keyboardist.
Yamaha has easy ways to do things (Actually dedicated buttons to do things.) May be KronOS also has these capabilities but we just can't find where those are...
Ex: In Yamaha arranger Keyboards,
-3 drum start variations possible
-5 song drum fills possible
-5 song ending drum fills possible
(Korg PA Series (Arrangers) has above listed features same as Yamaha PSRs.We just need to do know how to get these things done in KorgOS Workstation)
To understand this check the below video and concentrate only the drum tracks how they change along with the song.
ruclips.net/video/zWaaJYNMxeM/видео.html
This guy uses various drum fills time to time.It adds extra colours to the song.
Hi, I've had my Kronos 2 since June of last year.
I have never created anything on it, for it seems very complicated to me.
I thank you for at least showing me how to get started.
My question is, when creating the drum track, is there a way of adding fill-ins to the drum loops, and how about different parts of the song?
Hi @j.w. Carter . I think the Kronos drum patterns have fills at the end of each phrase. You can at least start with those....
You could copy and paste the fill measures only into your tracks at the specific locations that hey are needed.
+Julius Dewberry Thank you
Did that help you out?
you think someone would have written a book on all this stuff-so you always have the info handy
Most of it is probably in the manual to be honest. But that's a good idea. Lol,. You think I should give it a try?
Mine never came with a manual-quick start guide that's it
I think they are digital now. (The manuals)
Hi Julius, like your videos, however, why don´t you use a stand for the camera, would certainly help viewing. Cheers Udo
nnamgeis please follow the channels. These are older videos and I've made some changes as to how I'll be recording videos going forward. Thanks for the feedback and saying it in a nice way .
Ok...further into the vid...when you say, "push start", what are you refering to? I only see 2 start buttons on my kronos, and nothing happens when I press them...
Start stop locate in the sequencer section to the right of the lcd.
Yep!
great, thank you !
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Please stay connected!
You have your"tempo" mode set to "manual" Mine says "auto" and it doesn't seem to let me change it...How did you do it? Can't proceed beyond this point...
the response I sent for your 2nd post should fix this issue as well.
please let me know if this solves your issue. thanks.
Thanks Jules Great tutorial But if we cannot preview the pattern with a keyboard sound ect ! thats a massive fault on this Kronus!! I cannot find a way to do this also
they have added this feature back in with an update.
Ok cool.....i assigned the rppr to the pattern which you showed in the video but that's not what iam trying to do....when are you going to put up the video for me? Let me know
Julius help!!!! How do you open up memory in sequencer??? It’s telling me I only have to e percent memory left even though I’m deleting a whole bunch of stuff.
You have to delete sequences.
How do you save the song? After the work is done, switched off and back on, it's gone. In the menu is Save Template Song, Initialise Song, Copy From Song, Rename Song, but there's no Save Song.
Dom Vella Hi Dom. I will try and post a quick video today showing how to have and reload a song file. I will post a link here once I complete it.
Nice work Julius. Sort the camera out and it would be even better. But very helpful thank you.
Thanks. Camera thing is sorta worked out. These videos are very old now. Didn't want to re do them just to fix a camera. But I'll make sure new videos are much better. Please like and subscribe. Thanks
Thanks very much!
I think, we have the camera thing sorted now. lol. I have a few videos coming up. Please check back soon.
Thanks..
No problem. Hope it helped!
I just got the KRONOS but i trying to get into the pattern sequencer mode.. meaning i want to make different pattern sections which makes up the full song which allow me to control each section of my progression... can you show that? thanks
Yes but this mode is not near as user friendly as we'd expect it to be. It works but for entire sections of songs it's a bit more problematic. But for musical parts of a section it works well. I will do a video on the mode and we can go from there. Ok?
Thanks for your help...........
No problem. Hope it helped in some way.
Hi bro Julius, please i need your urgent help. WHAT IS THE SIMPLEX WAY TO GET PRESET DRUMS TO ACCOMPANY SONGS DURING CHURCH LIKE HOW YAMAHA AND OTHER KEYBOARDS WORK? MY CHURCH HAS PURCHASED A KORG KROS AND I'M NOT ABLE TO ADD DRUM BEAT. THIS IS A DESPERATE SITUATION SO YOUR HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED THANKS .
BEN.
Can you be a little more specific about what you need to accomplish?
There is no drums in the church so i want to use the drum beat on the kronos while playing my praise and worship, thankx Julius.
+Ben Boateng this video is a great start in the direction that you need to go. After you complete the steps here (except selecting whatever patterns you need) all you have to do is form your layers just as you would in combi mode. Then just loop the drum pattern.... BAM !!!! You're done!
thanks will try that.
Maaan I had a heavy a’ kronos…didn’t dig as hard as far as programming …if i see a 76 or 61 i may nab it
Man it's definitely worth it. FOR SURE.
It would be waaay better if you can change the drums while the pattern is playing and you can change the drums from the pattern page. Lots of back and forth menu diving just to preview drums.
you can. I sent a message in to Korg and they fixed it in the next update...
Can we get a link to that Kronos forum you referenced, Julius? Thanks!
korgforums.com
how do i create a new blank song
??????? Thanks
Where is says S001: New Song...(top left), click the small arrow (greater than sign) and then choose a new slot. S002. or whichever slot want to put your new song in.
Did that help?
@@JuliusDeBerryJr Thanks for the help. This is kind of a complicated keyboard but I am slowly getting the hang of it. There are still so many questions. LOL
Julius can you please help me to layer my Kronos please or do you have a video that can help me set up layerings I watched brother randy Jenkins the gospel guy video tutorials but wasn’t able to see the screen due to the plastic he had over the screen please help thanks man
Yes I can help with this. Do you have your Kronos updated to the latest operating system? And also, do you know about the feature that they added for quick layering and quick splits?
Don't Vella, on Korg Kronos u save in disk mode not in sequencer mode. save template in d seq menu is to save ur setup for a quick recall next time u want to recall same setup.... its not to save d song......so u realise it will recall only d setup but no midi recording. so save in d disk mode...... where u creat the song is sequencer mode.
what u did wrong not 2 b able to preview was .....u dint select RPPR button in d sequencer b4 hitting n going into d RPPR tab
Christian Amoah no that's that correct. I got in touch with one of my contacts at Korg. They added the feature in an update.... Or instead of saying added, they fixed it. My report was the first to them about it (I think). It was corrected in the very next update after I reported it.
@@JuliusDeBerryJr how does it work ?
I NEED AN ORIGINAL GOSPEL SONG PLAYED ON THE PIANO DELIVER TO ME IN MIDI AND WAV FILE FORM FROM YOU. I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE VOCALS AND YOU WILL MAKE THE COMPOSITION BASED OFF THE VOCALS.. CAN YOU DO THAT?.. LET ME KNOW RIGHT AWAY
Yes. Inbox me a contact number for you. Thx
Watching these videos makes me realize how hideously complicated this machine is. I was about to pull the trigger on a Kronos, but now I am thinking Not!
Complicated and complex aren't the same things. What keyboard are you currently using?
I bought a Krome EX. I like the Korg sounds, but trying to do all the stuff on a tiny screen with a stylus is like trying to write a song on an iphone. I will probably just end up using it as a controller along with Logic, but still be able to play live with it if I want.
@@Alphatrev WAY too much keyboard to use as a controller... Extremely huge waste.
Right! But Korg boasts a 16 voice sound machine. So what use is that alongside my DAW if it only has one pair of stereo outputs? The only way I can take advantage of the sounds is to record them as audio. Kind of defeats the object.@@JuliusDeBerryJr
Anything worth having requires effort.
THIS WAS A NICE AND INFORMATIVE VIDEO TUTORIAL..BUT PLEASE STABILIZE YOUR CAMERA FOR YOU NEXT VIDEO..THANKS!
Thanks! Have you checked out any of the most recent content? Hopefully it's a much better experience for you.
good teaching just what the doctor ordered. A tripod would go a long way
thanks sir. please see the new videos hopefully that tripod is what makes this exactly what you are wanting!!! appreciate you taking the time to watch.
DUDE!!! I really really like the topic and the way you show it all in detail! This is really important and good! BUT.... PLEASE DUDE!!! STOP THE SHAKING!! MAKE IT MORE PROFESSIONAL! Get yourself a tripod or something. duckttape the cam to something, make it static and use fixed focus. then im cool.
Some of the more recent videos didn't have the shake in the camera... But I'm not going to redo this one... Shows where we came from. Plus 19k views. 👀
men the tutorial is good, but... please keep the camera fix
Thanks! Have you checked out any of the most recent content? Hopefully it's a much better experience for you.
Why are there ZERO tutorials for using the basic sequencer? There are NO tutorials on just using the sequencer to record a few different tracks on top of each other. There are some crappy tutorials that don't show ANYTHING.
+StuntmanJake Because it absolutely SUCKS.
I've given up trying to do anything except use my kronos as a controller for VSTi in a DAW.
On the bright side, Omnisphere2 is fantastic, sounds a lot better than the kronos sounds and is so much easier to use. Reaper is a very good sequencer, I really don't need the kronos sequencer at all.
Korg made a crucial error of allowing engineers near the consumer interface, they need someone with a little common sense to redesign the way it works through the screen to the user.
I just want to make music, not have to immerse myself into a system first, my music comes first.
I believe the day of the workstation is over.
There are tutorials. But I'll help you if you need additional help. What exactly don't you understand?
+jonesgerard if all you are using the Kronos for is a controller... Then you are certainly wasting power and have wasted a ton of money.
is there a more immediate, practical way to talk? this is very public...not to mention slow...
not sure. Maybe via email? ... I'm not sure if there is a messaging system via youtube. I don't think there is at least.
we could maybe set up some type of private instructional time, if that would be better for you.

Thanks Julius i will look for a tutorial on creating your own patterns
I actually thought I'd put one up already.
Sorry not found it! Its a shame about the preloaded loops don't know who the drummer is they used to write the loops But i wouldn't employ him in my band
Dang. Lol. That's pretty harsh. Hahaha. Probably just midi or keyboard drums. I doubt they are from a real drummer...
clicking on your video is annoying
