    I had these on order and decided to cancel. When it asked why I was canceling I chose the option that stated that the price was too high. I love my HD800S, HD6XX, HD560S and HD660S. But the fact that they removed the hard case. Shortened the cables. And raised the price. I feel like they are not doing right by us. They come out to $650 including tax. If they really wanted to hit it out of the ballpark they should have lowered the price especially considering they reduced what they include in the box. They would have sold these in the tens of thousands immediately. Now people are going to sit on the sidelines and wait. I know these will drop in price eventually. The fact that you can get the 660s for under $300 now and of course the original HD 6XX for around $200 makes these seem like a money grab. I do believe they are improved and they probably are the best version but are they really worth $650?! Sorry Sennheiser I will be patient and wait for the price to be more appropriate.

      I fully agree, but. my 650s have served me so well as daily drivers. I've changed the pads 2 times and had them for like 10 years, then the 580s before that. While I agree on the money grab part, I'm ready to give sennhiser my money for the s2s. I'm forever a fan from all the enjoyment I've gotten. $600 is a lot of money for me, but I'd pay it 3 times over for how good this company has given me music and comfort. Call me a sucker or fan boy, won't bother me.

      @@Flashtone08 please let us know your thoughts when you get them. Two reviews from the Headphone show are out and they are describing a very different sound then how these are being marketed. I Love the HD650 sound. They're hands down my favorite headphones to crank and kick back. Looks like we're already getting differing opinions on whether or not these are better than the original 660S and 650.

    Just ordered 660S, I think it’s a good price at $309 (tax included).
    The new version must be nice but not worth the asking price, unless you gotta have them now. I don’t. Maybe in a couple of years , or sooner, when the price will drop. But not now.

    The sound on the HD660s2 is really impressive. The bass does go down to lower actives. The bass is not necessary louder but it goes down to lower frequencies and you can hear the instruments. You can hear the buzz from the guitar amp. Much more detail and not in your face highs. More relaxed. Good for rock. Ipad - Amazon Music HD Jeff Beck Wired 360 Wired. Using a Tube Quad PA-one DAC. You really hear much more detail and the sound is much more full than the HD600. The clamping force on the headphone is a bit strong. Hope it loosens up.

  • @Marian1st.

    I have both and I decided to keep the S2 and sell HD660S.
    It took me a while to get used to the soundstage of S2.
    It sounds like half way Spatial Audio , Dolby.
    Great for classical or movies but not so much for pop music. The sound of S2 is growing on me.
    I find the S1 more engaging. The sound is closer to your ears. The drums kick harder. You feel the music much better. The siblings are more pronounced on S1. Almost non existent on S2 if at all.
    S2 takes the music and moves it 3 meters back, great for long listening sessions. The S1, is more in your face type of sound, but not as close as Grado.
    Coming from Grado 325, I’m used to that sound and I prefer it over a more spatial sound with a wide soundstage.
    But , I also like contrasts. So because I already have Grado, it makes more sense to go with a wider sound stage and keep the S2.
    S1 feels a bit tighter when you have them on.

I totally agree with the comments before me it’s way over priced considering it doesn’t come with that nice box and shorter leads, I bought my 6xx recently and the same thing happened with the box and shorten cables as well made in Romania not Ireland . I've owned multiple 6XX models. The HD600 were my go-to. That's because they captured the essence of music, but lacked treble and sub bass. The 800S had more of both and a big sense of space.
    This year, I took delivery of the 660s2. They are (obviously) superior to any of the other 6XX. In fact, aside from sheer space, I like them as much as the 800S. The 660s2's basic frequency response is just as good and natural. So much so, I sold my 800S and 6xx models. The 660s2 are my primary cans and I want for nothing else. if anything the 800S are a ripoff and vastly overpriced, not the 660s2.

  • @SujitJadhavIN
    @SujitJadhavIN Год назад +1

    In my experience, after listening to HD 660S, HD 800S, and HD 660S2, I feel like it's not worth it. Despite the fact that the base is good, the tonal balance and timbre of HD 660S2 are not up to the mark; actually, it actually hurts my ear with higher peak frequencies. HD 660S2 tries to mimic HD 800S sound but fails so badly.
    Sorry, but it's not worth it for me. I now respect HD 800S and 660S more.

    • @ZekeTrailblazer
      @ZekeTrailblazer Год назад +1

      I have both the 560s, 660s and 660s2. The 560s are much better for gaming compared to the 660s, but there were a few times the 660s were clearer and that made the difference in scenes with a ton of sound effects going on. The 660s2 does something incredible though, and essentially does everything the 560s did for gaming, but has much more precision and clarity. The 560s still has a bigger sound stage, but the 660s2 is so immersive and precise it truly feels like a gaming upgrade from the 560s. The 660s is still good, but I feel like if you have the money or find a sale, then the 660s2 is worth it without a doubt.

      @antoniocecere9648 It is more spacial like the 560s. There is still intimacy in the vocals, and they never feel drowned out, but they do convey a little distance now. The separation between the layers of music or gaming is incredible though.
