Francisco, I agree, ultimately the big brands are to be blamed. To avoid bad press, they usually employ subcontractors. So when a film crew turns up, they will just blame the subcontractor for all the things that are wrong. And it is hard to prove that the big brand knew about it, you do not want to be sued, after all.
It's sad that a lot of people are now aware of what is happening now but isn't doing anything about it. I hope that the brands will be exploited and these workers should be compensated properly.
Workers of the world unite and fight? Try that in Bangladesh! Just yesterday the government has introduced a new bill in the national parliament to ban strike. This shows how the exploitation is institutionally supported in Bangladesh.
Why this report do not mention the big clothing brands behind this explotation?? Maybe DW do not want to get in trouble with these big corporations.

And mostly these brands are foreign as the garment sector of Bangladesh is mostly based on international export
This is so sad and no one is doing anything to stop this
They should play this video in H&M or Gap stores
Too painful to watch...
DW I hope you gave this family money. They risked their lifes..

This makes me sad. I'd love to hire them directly. No middle man. These owners are the worst.
