There went the front fenders that I could have bought for my 89 Grand Marquis . Me and my girlfriend went on an adventure over the weekend. We went down to Cooters Place down in Luray, Virginia. It was hot but we visited Cooters museum (Dukes of Hazzard). We didn't stay for the birthday bash/car show because of the hot temperatures. We did tour a Civil War museum while we were there.
Wow Silas, crushing cars just made my work week completed!! Every classic vehicle you save for your yard couldn’t be a better way to say, thank you! Your yard is coming together nicely also!!
It's so good to see you making so many trucks and cars that are collectible available to be be restored. This weekend in Evansville,Indiana the Frog Follies is taking place. Hundreds of old model cars and truck are shown by their owners at the county fairgrounds and so many look like they could have come from your yard except these are all restored hot rods. All of them are beautifully restored and run nicely. How I wish I had the money to buy several of your cars and turn them into one of those beautiful roadsters.
Thank you, Silas. I never knew all the ins and outs of "car metal dealing". The way you save the "clips" of very old cars so people can make bar decorations, man cave stuff, etc. You work long days and you work very hard. Thank you for sharing your world. I would love to visit your place, but, you are a little to far from New Jersey........
For someone who has up to date registration in the glovebox, he's in no rush to show proof! As always you kept your cool. You are ALWAYS in my thoughts and prayers. Thank You for the great content always. Gilbert Alicea NYC
Those little goodies in the back of the van were a nice extra . Love watching you crush at double time , I was shocked that you got 65 done and ready to go , you sure do work hard but in the end you must be satisfied . Till next time , Stuart in Ontario ..
That was a great way to end my day. I love these videos. These kinds of adventures would be fun.. Going through a junkyard.. The only thing I'd hate is coming across a car with a nest of bees or hornets in it.. That's what was in the trunk of a 1950 Ford (I forgot the type but it was a 2 door) I remember when my dad sold it, they popped the trunk to look in it and out came the swarm.. Like the other time that my dad brought home an old farm truck.. he got it in the yard and opened the drivers side door and I guess there was a nest in there because he was attacked then too.. But my grandmother used to go hunting for treasures at a garbage dump.. I have memories of one in my home town.. I remember seeing piles of old rusty stoves, washing machines, driers piled up everywhere.. and there was a steep hill going down and it was covered in scrap metal and such too.. Now it's illegal to do that.. but when I get a chance to dig through the recycling bin, I build up a stash of returnables... but apparently you can't do that either.. but it's full of liquor bottles and in Vermont, they're worth $.15 each.. and pretty much all cans that are VT are $.5 each... which is better than Florida... they give $.5 a LB... so I had to crush hundreds upon hundreds of cans just to make $25.. Up here, I used to collect tons of cans/bottles and made $80-$85 when I was lucky..
My favorite time to go to the junkyards is after a hard freeze when the wasps are too cold to come after a guy. Winter in CO can come with mild days, good time to be out there
It is very interesting to go through junkyards where the owner lets the cars sit and slowly sells the parts rather than scrapping them. We have two in my area that are like that and if you seen trustworthy they will let you actually walk the junkyard.
@@mharris5047 I never did, but there was one in the town I used to live in, it was a huge junk yard.. it had a ton of cars piled up.. I don't know what happened to it but it was closed down. Another one I remember was also in the town of Arcadia Florida and it was behind a auto repair shop and the cars out back were junk cars.. They made the mistake of not draining the gas out of the tank and I guess the heat built up or something cause the entire pile of cars went up in flames.. I'm sure someone threw a lit cigarette or something sparked..
@@patdesrosiers6423 I've been lucky, I only found yellow jacket nests in the ground.. I had a junk car parked in the woods.. I always threw junk in it.. Well it was supposed to be something for my dad to use but I destroyed it so it was junked in the woods.. it has been there for over 20 years now.. it was an old Volkswagen Rabbit.. I went through our property picking up stuff that wasn't supposed to be there and tossed it into the car.. I broke the windows and smashed everything.. because I was a kid.. and I pretty much enjoyed destroying stuff. Needless to say, it's frozen up now, it is damn near impossible to move without it digging into the ground since the wheels are seized up
Smart move crushing the cars while the price is low - using your time wisely into making what I'd call a "crush bank" - something that will be worth more in the future that will allow you to harvest quickly and to turn a profit. Crush 'em while it is low and store 'em until you can turn that profit! Great move!
Man that red and white 70s Chevy van looks pretty solid! It would make an awesome "70s boogie machine!"!!! 😁 Believe it or not..... Folks out here are clamoring to find those old shorty Vans like that and turning them into 70 style customs.
I know I would love to have it, it's too bad that I don't have a place to work on it. It does everything a newer van does without a computer, catalytic converter.
KABOOM so funny , But tanks are a danger never forget it . great work operate skills are so good to watch oh stolen go pro was a laugh thanks Silas and co
I always hold my breath when you start these videos by picking up that old iron and taking it away...until I see you take it up front and load on a trailer!
To advice, keep in mind what you crush because anything that’s from early 80’s and back have value. If you see something that’s just too far gone than do crush it. If not, keep it so you can get some money and at least option in lot because old car dealers say they sell classics and they don’t….a customer can restore it if they want since it’s becoming a hobby….glad you have inventory for those that look for classics. Great video 👍
Silas the Pancake Maker ! Awesome Crushing - Awesome ! Old House Lot is looking soooo much Better and all that Room it will give You ! Good By Chicken Coop ! How to Remove the Engine in 1 Minute flat - ha-ha - just great ! Fantastic Video and many Cheers from Australia !!!!
That 1 ton van is pretty awesome, hope someone one saves it for what it is. Seen Chip foose take one of these and put half ton suspension under it to run custom wheels, I lost it and never watched another show of his. Im being nice!!! 😮
I don't mean to make fun but when I see you tearing stuff out of those vehicles with your loader that way I think of Sid on Toy Story 😅 You beat on it turned around the came back to beat some more. Always fun to see what you're doing. Stay safe and GOD bless
In that stack of doors it looked like some 41- 47 dodge pickup doors that i need a drivers door for my truck that im building if you end up with them and want to sale keep me in mind looked like headlights also for those trucks but Thanks and keep the videos coming
I love your humor.

I love when there is plenty of scrap metal with the cars that are to be crushed. Great videos 🎉🎉🎉🎉

The number of old vehicles you save is fantastic. Too many scrappers wouldn’t care about our automotive and transportation history
Silas, I think the orange 🍊 glow in the sky is forest fire 🔥 smoke 🚬
Red in the morning, scrapyards take warning.
You are one busy man. You just wore me out
Your editing skills are just about PERFECTO Silas. Thanks so much as always.
I enjoy seeing scrap metal in the pick up trucks and them being crushed. I continue liking your crushing style. Great videos
I'd like to see a video of you going thru the barn with the doors and hubcaps in it. Bet it's full of old treasures. Happy hunting

The luggage rack clamps to the running board. Definitely from the 30's or before.
Thanks Silas for sharing your experiences.

That T bird looked pretty nice.
An excavator hanging engines out of cars, are you kidding - who doesn't like that! Keep them coming!
I am positive a Vanner would LOVE to buy the G30 ! It looks solid .
I know I would love to have it, it's too bad that I don't have a place to work on it. It does everything a newer van does without a computer, catalytic converter.
Your little girl made me smile… thank you
Lol you took the boom out of what I was thinking seeing that torch going to that tank! 😮
Towards the end there, I love how you pull them engines out with your excavator with such precision and without damaging them! 😂
How did you know that no damage was done?
Funny you mentioned the old house...I was just wondering how you made out filling that all in.......
I love the time lapse crushing.
Thanks for saving the blue 53 Ford, it's a custom cab and has cab marker lights.
Thanks for another awesome video! The intro music was perfect!

Can you please make a video picking up all those hub-cabs and saying what they do to. Would be very interesting.
I always hold my breath when you start these videos by picking up that old iron and taking it away...until I see you take it up front and load on a trailer!

Was a drencher, that is why the sky was orange, see that out at sea a lot, you never see dodges that complete, that is nice! About a 49 or maybe a 50?
Had a good laugh with the tank explosion😂

Love watching the crusher
GOOD JOB!
Do you know why they call it a chicken coup?
If it had 4 doors it would be a chicken sedan!
Silas. I have. always noticed that you put the forks against the doors when the crusher is coming down . Is that to keep them from opening?
I would like to see a video on the other end, when the crushed vehicles are processed.
LOL! Torching the fuel tank!
I like the way you take engine out of the cars
Big storms coming
Any more treasure hunt videos i like them God bless 🛐🐰
I really to come to your yard, but, I don’t have time in my schedule. I want to build something for the The Hot Rod Power Tour.

Supersonic 🚀
Seeing all those farm trucks cut up makes me sad not so much for the trucks but each truck probably represents a farm that is no longer around.
What price on the luggage rack ?? 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
👍👌👏 A ton of progress and some really great purchases. Congrats! 🎉.
Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
Hey did you crush that gold binder?
What state is your yard in. I'm from Michigan and have crushed cars and trucked them for years.
I don’t think I have seen the crusher under tow.
Do you hire that task out?
How often do you run across snakes or critters living in the cars?
Thanks for the great content.
All you need now are the trucks to haul them away.
God it sucks seeing them old trucks get cut in half. Do you not get enough ppl that buy whole or is it a room thing? Where are you located anyway
How much do you want for square body with red lights? Thank you
How much did you sell that heavy truck for? Great video
Rack go on the running board
thye diggers working
