- Today the Dan Patrick for Lieutenant Governor campaign launched its first television ad "Fight." The ad will air in all major markets and select smaller markets in Texas on Fox News, where most conservative Texans get their news.
"Fight" is the first ad from any of the Republican campaigns for Lieutenant Governor to air on television. It highlights Dan Patrick's commitment to secure the border and that Patrick is the only candidate for Lieutenant Governor to actively oppose in-state tuition for illegal immigrants.
You guys do realize that all those Texas heroes were first generation immigrants themselves... to Spain and Mexico.
True, but he was talking about ILLEGAL Immigration.
Campaign Formula = Stand up to Obama, protect borders, illegal immigration, bald eagle sound effects.
Change that to Stand up to Texas! All Obama does is make lame speeches! He's done nothing to secure the border!
I like how Dan Patrick begins his commercial complaining about illegal immigration by highlighting Sam Houston and William B. Travis... both illegal immigrants to Texas. He also highlights James Bowie and Stephen F. Austin, both legal immigrants to Texas who became Mexican citizens... two guys who I am not too sure would be that worried about all the Mexicans coming and going across the Rio Grande.
Even if, for the sake of argument, I agreed that there are concerns with illegal immigration that need to be addressed... this was a dumb way to make that point. Maybe Abe Lincoln should have made anti-slavery ads featuring George Washington and Thomas Jefferson?
They would also be ashamed of the TEXAS POLITICIANS !!
So WHEN can I expect that call back re Art1 Sec 2 of the Texas Constitution

I'll show you backbone. Sen. Patrick came down to my ranch for a fact finding mission. He met with local law enforcement,Texas Border Volunteers and others. This was not a campaign money drive he wanted to know the truth. And that was what he was given. I hope he does what he says or promises he will do...if not, you are correct, he would be just another Cornyn or Dewhurst.
All four of the men he mentioned at the beginning were immigrants to Texas.

Understanding illegal immigration is Bad for Texas, I've had some of my cousins identity theft from illegals, also my sister was in car accident (really bad) She got a tremendous lost, got her life screwed. What worst I was in McAllen had to go emergency room, the problem was that illegals had flooded hospital, it becomes a big problem.
These people need to get in line for Legal process, I'm for LEGAL immigration this is not a race issue, I'm Hispanic.
Now that's standing proud as an American!

Patricks most recent ad starts off:
"Now that Isis is threatening to cross our southern border and attack Americans.............."
If this guy really believes Isis is massing in Mexico to attack Texans what kind of insane and illogical legislation will we be forced to suffer through under such fine leadership as D. Patrick being Lt. Gov.?
Illegal or Legal Immigrants? There's a difference between people who followed the law and those who broke the law sneaking in.

This illegal immigrant right here is about to finish his bachelor's and is already working in the nonprofit sector with organizations that help out children who are behind on their reading here in texas. Oh and i've payed for most of my tuition with merit scholarships. Why don't you focus on reforming education and do something good instead of putting more people down. I may not be able to vote but let me tell you I have a lot of political influence in my community and you won't be popular here
