I'd recommend to the others to duplicate anything first , name it, then change it to whatever you want . Don't EVER change the Revit standards elements .
hello im placing a door on angled wall in the floor plan. when i place the door, there are no temporary dimensions but on a 90degree wall there are. how do i change this or a workaround to get my door placed accurately?
Many thanks for this explanation. I have a question, is it possible to put the text dimensions in the middle of the line? It is available in Autocad, but I could not find it in Revit
Can you help me please When i click on the di and then it snaps for the first object or the wall then when i click and trying to snap to the other wall it doesn't snap
hi and thx for this video. plz i want to know how can we fix the offset between the dimension ligne and the element that we want to dimension (like wall)
Thanks for the tutorial, very helpful. I have a queastion hoping I could borrow your knowledge, my tutor at online course who expert in ArchiCAd keep saying dimension should not include interior finishes, ex. 10mm plaster board, he says it's a Universal rules, is that true? I googled it but now one says it's a universal rules. we are duplicating existing plans for assignments, and revit user students have to adjust wall cavity for dimensioning, I feel this is a bit odd, ArchCAD user has 50mm wall cavity, but Revit user has 40mm wall cavity because the way revit dimensioning. is it normal practice? sorry for long comments
Yeah, you dimension only the bearing core of the wall. Think about why do you dimension in the first place. Dimensions are used by contractors to build and they need to know where to place the brick. In this phase contractor doesnt care at all about thickness of the finishes. And when the rough wall is built, contractor doesnt need to check the dimensions in the blueprints. He just does the finishes.
@@soprikcze I see,.Thank you for taking time to explain it to me, our teacher never mention about how contractors read dimension, he doesn know about revit so just keep saying it's universal rules, change cavity size to adjust. well, Thanks again!

How do you change the size of an individual dimension?
Always tie gridlines back to building overall dimensions- this is standard practice.
