This is maybe my 4th Sufjan interview I’ve watched, and I gotta say the more I see the more fantastical he becomes. He’s almost the Willy Wonka of his genre.
I was really curious what show this was for- Impossible Soul is perfect. I always want to dance when that part of it comes on. I hope I can find a video of the finished dance.
@@supertavio2 caramba, acho que é o quinto comentário seu que vejo hoje kkkkk (estou numa maratona de conteúdo aleatório do Sufjan). Aliás, super apoio a ideia de traduzir algumas músicas do A Beginner's Mind.
@Chalice - You should have spent more time paying attention in English class instead of trying on clothes in front of your mirror and thinking about boys.
He isn't freaking gay. Not that I am homophobic, but seriously stop calling people gay who aren't. Just listen to super sexy women, or that dress looks nice on you. Maybe he is talking about cross dressers? I think not.
+Cal ChuchestaⓋ here's a somewhat quick breakdown about the sufjan gay argument: over time, gay men develop a pretty sharp intuitive ability to judge another guy's sexuality (also known as gaydar). you pay close attention to his body movements, his tone of voice, where his eyes look, how he laughs/smiles, etc. you do this because you are facing a larger risk than just rejection: you also risk exposing your sexuality in a society that socially enforces against it (e.g., through violence or shame). in other words, this discreet judgement is a skill that gay men develop as a defensive strategy. on the other hand, straight men are typically bad at judging when another guy is gay because they reject gayness as a legitimate concept and don't want to consider it at all. this is also a defensive strategy: by distancing themselves from gay people, they attempt to reaffirm their role as a normal male and repress any impulses or thoughts that would tie them to the inferior social class of gay people. in conclusion: gay men have better judgement about who else is gay (or at least open to male intimacy) and my risk assessment for hitting on sufjan stevens is negligible. if you catch my drift. TL;DR: his shirt.
He is a hipster, so that would explain how he dresses. I don't care weather or not he is gay. But he has given every indication in his music that he is attracted to women. Maybe he is bi? Who knows. I just don't think we should be saying he is gay. If he comes out as gay, then I will believe it. I would say the same thing if people were accusing a gay person of being straight. I do not reject gayness as a legitimate concept. But then again, I'm not straight. I'm pan asexual. Don't worry. I am able to read peoples mannerisms. But having gay like mannerisms does not make someone gay. He Could just be super metrosexual. There are probably gay people who don't have gay mannerisms.
+Cal ChuchestaⓋ I think Sufjan rejects most labels, and would do so in this case, but I think I've gotten the opposite impression to you from certain songs, like The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades & quite a few others whose names slip my mind. But if you don't think people should classify him as gay, people shouldn't classify him as straight either, as he never said he was. It's not a default setting.
Sufjan to female reporter: *gesticulates with hands, lisps words in a super gay voice* Hey girl, hey! The inspirations for my tour are Lady Gaga, the movie Showgirls, and the television show Rupaul's Drag Race. Female reporter: Are you gay? Sufjan: *waves his finger around as if to say "Oh no you didn't" places hand on hip sternly, rolls eyes.* gurrrrrrrlllllllllllll!!!!! RUclips comment guy: HE'S NOT GAY! HE DIDN'T SAY HE WAS GAY. HE CALLED HER "GIRL!" THAT'S NOT SAYING HE'S GAY. THAT LAST SONG WHERE HE SINGS ABOUT SUCKING DICK HE IS TALKING ABOUT JESUS'S DICK!!! NOT GAY! NOT GAY! NOT GAY! CHRISTIAN!!! he's so goofy i love him
Not that it's anyone's business but....how can anyone watch this and not think he's gay lol? There is nothing straight about this man.
We all know he's gay. He openly sings about gay sex at the end of impossible soul. Only idiots deny it.
@@vertyisprobablydead He also sings about kissing girls. No proof he's gay unless he comes out. His lyrics are pretty ambiguous.
@@INTJ91I mean he might be bisexual
