  • Destroy Lonely is about to kick off the second leg of the No Stylist 2022-2023 tour, and it’s a must-go if he’s in your city. From harnessing one of the most rampant crowds in the underground to playing new wave music before he came out, he’s one of the most idiosyncratic rappers today.
I went to take photos for Our Generation Music and wanted to start reviewing these shows along with sharing the content/photos that I captured there.

Nice photography! I also like how you mentioned how much curation Lone' puts into his image -- what can and can't be seen by others, and when others will see something. That kind of curation with one's audience seems like a surefire way to galvanize them. It kinda reminds me of something I learned in my Intro to Psych class last semester: reinforcement schedules. The kind of reinforcement schedule that Lone' seems to be following is one with a variable interval/ random scheduling. After X amount of time the reward will be received. Gambling, in the mind, follows the same principle but replace interval with ratio (interval=time, ratio=behavior): if you keep participating you'll eventually win! And because people know that, but have poor risk assessment or enjoy gambling too much, they continue to play despite their losses. Schedules that reinforce variably have high response (participation), and low extinction, meaning the desired behavior is very likely to continue. Opium as a label is really exemplary of this
