    Hey Jarrod, can you reach out to Laney to do a demo on the LFR 4x12? that would be awesome if they can accommodate you, we would love to see how it sounds with the quad cortex and the Kemper

    There are a couple of stores that have treated me well over the years. The smaller has been family owned since I was a little kid. What should be a 5 minute visit for a pack of strings or picks usually takes about an hour and a half because I am friends with their son that mostly runs it now. The larger store has some top shelf stuff and I have been able to try out a couple of things before purchasing them.

    Unpopular take: even though I liked Sam Ash’s gear selection and I’m genuinely not happy to see anyone lose their job, my overall experience with the brand wasn’t very good, especially since I moved to Nashville. In an almost empty store it’d take 10 minutes to get someone to even acknowledge I’m standing there waiting for a cable to try a guitar or amp I’m wanting to buy. Same thing happens at GC. People will legit help everyone else next to me and then run off the second it’s my turn in line.
    Personally, I’m over local stores. Shit customer service, disrespectful employees, they rip you off on buy-ins, et al.

      Not an unpopular opinion, just true. I’m in the Dallas area and there’s 5 or 6 GC’s near me and a Sam Ash. There’s also several other smaller “mom & pop” or private shops as well. The lack of customer service is rampant and I’ll add that - at least here - the workers are not competent enough in the gear to make the effort to do their job. There’s a really high turnover rate and the managers are rarely if ever available. In 5 years, I’ve met one manager at a GC and never met the one at Sam Ash.
      Now I am a fan of Sam Ash as the one here was way better than the GC’s overall. The issue I had is that in a cyber driven world, the Sam Ash website was atrocious and nearly unusable personally.
      Conversely, places like Tone Shop or Guitar Sanctuary are privately owned and their websites are great. Both have actual musicians and gear heads who can explain or even demo everything in the store.
      But yeah, it’s frustrating standing in a store for 10-30 minutes, waiting for someone to acknowledge my existence just for one thing, or many things in one case. I bought my wife a Taylor, amp and accessories and no one ever bothered checking on us until we headed to the register. THEN two employees fought over who was going to get the sale. Seriously.

    😂 🤘 glad you kept it. I have the same rack version BL50 with hotmod in it, bass flicked up and gain in down position. Game changer for sure. 🍻

    My great local music store is Goodtime Music in Streamwood, IL (NW Suburb of Chicago). I do run into people there, but the owner/operator Pat is a great dude to talk to. He’s got a wealth of industry experience, both in terms of gear and the music business, touring, etc. There’s always something to learn on every visit 👍🏻

    I’m in the DFW area and Sam Ash was my favorite place to shop. Sucks they closed, but it’s my opinion that their website was nearly useless in a cyber driven world.
    There’s two Pro Shops nearby and one is Guitar Sanctuary. That’s where Andy Timmons hangs out and he plays small gigs there periodically. The guys are always friendly and they know their gear inside and out. There’s a pro pedalboard builder in there also (Omillian Audio?).
    Tone Shop is great too. I don’t trust their setups (long story involving my PRS), but I recommend them to anyone who asks where the best shop is overall (pricing, service, etc). Guitar sanctuary specializes in high end gear and they really are a Professional Guitar store. Otherwise I would recommend them first and foremost.

    Hey Jarrod! Have you tried your tone x models through real cabs with a power amp before, and if so how close are they to the real thing? I’ve got my eye on your Savage/splawn models. My current amp isn’t cutting it so I’ve been thinking about grabbing a tone x pedal, maybe a fryette/Seymour Duncan power amp. Do you think the DI captures (since I go through cabs) get like maybe 90% of the way? Thanks man, love your vids, my go to channel for all gear related stuff.

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks so much for commenting and for the kind words. I really appreciate it. The DI captures come very very close to the real amp, especially when you run them through a good Power Amp such as the pa50 by ksr and a real cab.
      If you can, avoid the SD power amp.. It's just okay, but it's kind of anemic and thin sounding

    Hi, with the beautiful depth of sound you get with a delay, how come no amp manufactures have never swapped out their reverb for a delay, in my opinion that makes sense and as you know it would be awesome to have, one less pedal and handy for beginners to help with inspiration of a sweet tone. Thankyou.
