What an ENTERTAINING MATCH. The new rules since Olympic wrestling was put on the chopping board, has made this sport great again as it just encourages action, action, and action! The old rules where each wrestler won rounds encouraged stalling and passivity. Lets make wrestling exciting, entertaining, and fan friendly! Otoguro BTW is a beast!

100% agree. It's the best it's ever been in history. However, I will have to say, they need to make up some rule to penalize for these fake injury timeouts.

💯, This reminds me when I use to wrestle in my time. I would enjoy these new rules of today's time. Amazing. Regarding the injury situation, good fighter knows how to play with the rules. Able to regroup and think it over. Also slow down the India fighter momentum.

I do like the new rules, and agree with you that those are better... but wrestling should have never been on the chopping block, ever. Just because humans have invented more and more ways for instant gratification, much of it unnecessary or in forms of "entertainment", doesn't mean because younger and younger crowds didn't find the time to understand what was going on that it needed to be removed. Nobody looks at it my way it seems, but they are not right to suddenly think it's "boring". Even MMA fans often don't understand the difference between somebody hanging on (truly stalling) and two opponents neutralizing each other so that tiny increments on the ground that take time would have made the difference. In a fight to the death (or over food, territory, etc..) which is where wrestling and any combat-based sport came from, there was no time limit. I understand the idea for time limits because we have to make SOME sort of attempt to keep score and get it over with in case the match is close, but to go the other way too far can benefit a cheap style too much. All I hear in the UFC these days is "for the fans! for the fans! Finishes! This ie enterTAINment!" (bah blah)... well they have conveniently forgotten the original reason for its existence.
In freestyle there's still the ridiculous problem of knowing who executed a move, with arguments and challenges in every match. That largely comes from people wanting action no matter what's wrong, and unlike folk style (that and Jiu-jitsu being the closest things to blending truly old combat wrestling with safer rules), control isn't respected much. It easy for people to say stuff like "yeah well everyone is doing freestyle so...." which proves nothing. Mass numbers never proved something was right. In fact, herd mentality has gotten us into trouble in many other ways for generations.
So I agree man, the new rules help a lot.... but underneath is a sad truth about people these days. They rather have faster results so they can move on to other cluttered things like facebook, e-mails, instagram, twitter, etc... that has quantity over quality. Being busy for no reason isn't better. It's made us use up tons of resources, see that we're running out, and keep doing it anyway. Meanwhile, they'll laugh that I wrote too much. There is a connection to it all, but nobody wants to see it.
