Weeding is so satisfying and rewarding. Great demonstration on how to treat Fruit bushes and you always do so well with those harvests.. Happy new year to you and Mrs K
I cut the wire on my climbing roses when I was pruning last Summer. Fortunately my hubster had some extra clips so we could re-run the wire. Ooops! I have some wood ash I am taking to the allotment, tomorrow, to top dress my new raspberry bed. Such a busy dy for you. I have tidies my shed and weeded a flower bed and cut back some plants. Tomorrow's jobs will be more. My hubster bought me a grow light for Christmas- I am so excited to use it. I have wanted one for ages to get my seedlings started earlier. Cheers for another fab video. Warmest wishes to Sandra. Happy growing 🙂
@nickthegardener.1120 when I start my new galvanised bed's I will remove some soil from the cage because it is definitely harder to remove the weeds, definitely works Nick.
Hi Terry. There's something about weeding as you say. Soon enough, they will be off like a shot. Just look at that dandelion. I'm still amazed at how much fruit you harvested this year. The rotted down bark looks amazing. There's nothing more I hate than the gooseberry bush getting me when I go past it, or a miscellaneous thorned twig lol. Ive got to get in and prune them back soon. Terry 👍 Mrs K ❤
@allotmentjoy no dig weeding is so easy so more mulch in that top corner, but I will have to remove some soil to make it easy and that soil will go into the new galvanised beds that I was hoping to start tomorrow, but the weather will keep me in the house doing DIY no doubt.......🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤦🤣.
Wow you have done well with both leaves and compost but if its free you have to make the most of it lol ,have a happy new year mate rose sends her love to mrs k as well ❤️
@helenstewart2085 the beds are 400mm on the far left with a 400mm paths and the middle bed is probably about 700mm and the right hand bed is also about 400mm. This works for me, but we do need to ensure they get the food they need to keep providing and I have had mixed results over the years, but I always have some frozen just in case we have a failure.
@martinfinnemore6264 the plot next door didn't cut down the thistles and I had them everywhere, they say seven years of pain only 5 more years to go......🤣.
Buisy buisy buisy Terry great job as always mate
@@CoastalGardensNW this job can't wait and so pleased it is now done, just a few to dig out and more white currants to add.......😋.
Plots look so good after they've been weeded don't they ! 👍 😁
@DavidCinUK I love weeding, but a good layer of mulch makes it so much easier David.
Gooseberry jam is one of my fondest memories from my years in the UK when I was a teen! 😋

Me and Meadow made some last year 🤤❤️👌👍

@@NanasWorms gooseberries are an ideal addto any jam to make it set, still have 8 jars from 2023.

@sowgroweat6987 hopefully I will be able to remove enough soil to add a thick layer of mulch, makes no dig weeding so easy.
Always looks great after a good weeding session.
@jeanhelliwell8160 it gives me great satisfaction to see the difference, but I try and not let it get like this, but I have an excuse.......😁.
@terrykingsallotmentgardening that's understandable. ❤️❤️
But it wasn't that bad really.

@bewoodford2807 it's nice to know that you're keeping busy while the weather allows, won't be long before the cold weather stops us for a while.
@@terrykingsallotmentgardening so true. -1 tomorrow night and -4 over Thursday night. Brrrr!
@bewoodford2807 looks like I will be gritting, at least I didn't get called out over Christmas and New Year.

Hi Terry. I put salt into the centre of dandelion plants. They will eventually shrivel and die.

Nothing better than getting weeds out I'd never let them go to seed makes your plot ten times worse
