- Footage of 60103 Flying Scotsman tackling the Worth Valley's fearsome gradients, with banking assistance from WD 2-8-0 90733 in places. All shots taken with a valid photographic permit for the event. 9 April 2017.
Fantastic video coverage of 'Flying Scotsman' at the K&WVR. Very enjoyable viewing.
Regards - Allan.
allan5919 many thanks Allan, and may I take the opportunity to say I really like your shot of the 2 black 5s at Riding Mill from the weekend!
Some fantastic shots there David. At first I thought the Dub D might do all the hard graft, but Scotsman was putting the shoulder into it further up.
Many thanks Tony - that's right, 60103 was certainly opened up further up the line.
Lovely sets of shots for this special occasion. Julian.
Julian Thurgood many thanks Julian, it was great to see her on the line.
It's like having a Racehorse in a paddock David....so strange, but amazing footage none the less....Bob
Robert Masterman I know exactly what you mean Bob, and the standard 4 which was also running is certainly much better suited to the line. That said, with that load, 60103 needed to work hard. Many thanks for your kind comment as always.
Thoroughly enjoyed, David - thanks for sharing. Bob K
RJAS 365 many thanks Bob, and you are most welcome!
Superb video David. Great line side shots especially the tunnel clip fantastic. Kind regards C&A
EMuksteam many thanks C&A, it was a very enjoyable day.
Really cracking footage David..well filmed. Looking forward to when She comes down to us here on the WSR in September....Best wishes...Steve.-:)
Many thanks Steve - I hope you enjoy that - she might be 'too famous' for some, but for me just seeing an A3 is something different to enjoy.
Fine set of shots David, hope the KWVR coffers were nicely filled after the week
Many thanks Austin - I'm sure they were, and everything seemed to run like clockwork - a great achievement for all those who planned and delivered it.
High class images David. At the start I thought I was going mad with the novel "two shots of the train engine followed by two of the banker" style of editing. Unusual but it worked well. I think it took me longer to realise what was happening with my mind wondering why the Home signal in the 2nd shot was in the off position for the opposite direction. Thanks for sharing. Chris
Many thanks Chris - yes I wasn't sure about that edit but did it to prevent a dull section of just the carriages going past. Glad I went for this, and it'll be good to see 4472 on the S&C again this summer.
Great shots
LINYTrains many thanks!
more like tickles the gradient lol
