I picked this up on the PS2 instead of guitar hero Metallica back in the day, I was obsessed with GH, but bought undercover on a whim, I fell in love, top 3 for me personally, just behind carbon and most wanted
IT IS BETTER GAMEPLAY THAN PC (JUST LIKE SPLINTER CELL DOUBLE AGENT ON PS2 IS 5000X BETTER THAN PC VERSION STORY GAMEPLAY) , BUT...GLITCH FEST AND ANNOYING THAT MONEY IS VERY DIFFICULT TO EARN AND TRY MORE CARS AND PARTS TO BUY MAKES GAME NONE ENJOYABLE.
@@PIP...33 I agree. Many PS2 version of games are better than their PC port. I cant say how many times I was happy to play PC version games because of resolution and graphics only to return on PS2 platform with the same game and just over look bad graphic because of better story and gameplay. Lets be clear PS2 Graphic was not bad at that particular time but still compare to PC graphic is solid. 1 of best examples is Porsche 2000. On PC u have beautiful graphic but dont have 30% cars or variations that you have on Original PSX . So, just use new EMULATOR DuckStation and turn inside settings ''PC MOD & TEXTURES UPSCALES'' options and you will get best NFS game.

The PS2 build of Undercover was my childhood game. I don't care what anyone says, the game is awesome and I love it to this day.

This game was nuts! The fact the Koenigsegg was one of the secret cars AND the RX7 could carry you all the way to end game made it special!
I remember play this game on PS2 when I was kid, and I kinda shocked this game is really short.
It's funny how short games feel long when you're a kid, but when you're an adult, long games feel short.

My favorite thing to do in PS2/Wii Undercover is inspect the whole map and see how many assets were ripped from various previous NFS games and how many of those assets are just broken for no reason as well.
Well, it's said that EAGL 4 (ProStreet & Undercover engine) has some streaming issues (especially with vehicles) in comparison with EAGL 3 (MW & Carbon engine), so no wonder why Black Box chose EAGL 3 for NFS World.
Fortunately, both use Havok for physics, so the rubberband should be able for modding.
Undercover PS2 wasn't upgraded to the new engine

I really loved this game when I was young. It also has the best soundtrack in the entire series imo
I wonder why they messed up the Porsche 911 GT2 cover car livery on the Wii (added the Most Wanted M3 livery instead of the iconic Undercover 911 GT2 livery).

It is also a lovely mess on the PS3 and XBOX 360. Great way to describe it Kuru. So many glitches and problems but a brilliant car list, soundtrack, event types and overall fun factor.
I played the PS3 version and i didn't see any glitch my only complain about PS3/XBOX 360 version of undercover is that it's too hard even on the beggining of the game the races are hard but it's wayy better than PS2/WII versions ofc

I remember wasting $60 on this port as a nine year old, expecting the graphical fidelity and gameplay of the PS3 version. I beat it in 4 hours and was extremely disappointed.

I remember getting this game (ps2 version) as a birthday gift when i was a child. I've watched let's plays of the real version and was so excited for the graphics until i started it for the first time.. i was so disappointed but couldn't tell my parents because i would have felt bad for them so i had to play it..

I remember my ps2 was modded so it could run pirated games for $20 and I could choose some games for free, so I grabbed a couple of games including Undercover. I was surprised when I realized the map was a copy of Rosewood so I thought it was like a modded version of Most Wanted so I bought an ORIGINAL copy of Undercover for like $40 just to find out that the "modded" version of Most Wanted was in fact, the PS2 version of Undercover.

the fact this was my first ever game and i had this burnout 3, carbon, pro street, GT4 and 3 and many more legendary PS2 games but i chose to play this the most for some reason.

The PS2 one is the one I played as a kid and was my 2nd NFS game after Underground so I have nostalgia for this hot mess
When you finish a race, on the finish screen you can check the other drivers top speed and because of the rubberbanding, I've seen that number over 1000🤣
Felt like Most Wanted and Carbon had a baby with each other that’s how undercover had similar things
The engine sound for the Gallardo is the same as the one used for Cop version of this car in PSP.
Thankfully in PSP, the normal Gallardo has the proper V10 engine sound.
Undercover was one of the very first need for speeds that I have played so luckily I have good memories of it.(also my English was hilariously bad so I almost didn't understand anything about the story. The gameplay was the only goal for me back in the day)
Also everytime I finished it, I did this trick:
1-Buy a challenger
2-Max it out
3-Buy a CCX
It's the easiest way to finish the game in my opinion. If you ever wanted to play this game again (bruh) you should try it out.

One of my favourite games ever! Now, if you change to manual gearbox from the settings, things will get interesting for sure! I've beat this game multiple times with the Camaro SS, It can go really fast even on the lower gears. (PB 120km/h 1st gear)

I played Undercover immediately after Most Wanted because i didn't have stable interned and had no clue about Carbon and overall drop in quality was rather confusing, i was SURE that Undercover were first game and Most Wanted second.
Played the hell of this game on ps2 with my cousin, i didn't think this game was bad at all, but at that time i didn't think any game was bad lol

I remember I only got this game cause it was the only way for me to drive a Koenigsegg on a wii game.
I got a Wii with Undercover. I played through this game now for the third time this year. In total I maybe played it 7 or 8 times on Original Hardware.
Bigest Problem: If you sometimes want to change the bodykit and too quickly go through the list, the Console Freezes.
Highway and Outrun are just as broken. Cops even more so, you'd have to be very lucky not needing the Bridge Escape.
Otherwise, Like Knives is a absolute Banger!
I had the PS2 version and I LOVED the soundtrack, and the colors were nice too. The rest of the game... well, I'd rather not talk about it.

At least here Tri-City is actually a state with three cities. In PC/X360/PS3 version you had one city (Palm Harbor), one town (Port Crescent) and countryside (Sunset Hills). But I still prefer the nextgen version due to the sense of scale of the map

10:44 Kuru, the bugged cutscene on Wii emulator is actually an issue if you're using OpenGL renderer. Changing it to D3D11 fixes the bugged cutscene. It happened to me when I've first tried playing NFS Nitro.
The highway races were also broken on the Wii Console like on the original hardware. Thats not the emulators fault ^^

Remember as a kid really enjoying it on the PS2, but after booting it up again on the same PS2 all these years later... you can definitely see some rushed elements lol

10:56 should mention that it's only EA games that have the glitched cutscenes on Dolphin. I've seen it on all NFS games I've tried, NHL, NFL, NBA, FIFA
i think it's an issue if you're using OpenGL renderer, but if you switch to Direct11, it's fixed. I noticed this issue recently when I firstly played NFS Nitro

Try multiplayer on Wii version with someone :v maybe it would be possible to setup an online/remote 4 player session. Its only classic nfs that had more than 2 players multiplayer locally :v

The cutscenes are broken on the Wii emulator (Dolphin) because you use the Vulkan renderer.

I aways liked this game on ps2 since my unlocked ps2 fat had rendering/loading problens on both most wanted and carbon but not on this one

I mean...... we all know this is a MW reskin map but. I liked the layout... from a nostalgia point.... playing this now in 2024.. brings me back. i can easily navigate and not loose myself in the map.. it's a pleasant feeling ... BUT YES ! some minimap paths are there when ingame they aren't... this is the most annoying thing tbh... because handling is PRO STREET level of goodness... and colors are.......sorry to say but... better than the yellow PISS filter MW05 had.. when I play MW05 on pc. i always load that mod that gets rid of it
I played this game a lot, my PC failed to run Undercover and so I picked up the PS2 version with a friend.
I had thought the PC version was the best game ever back then because my friend hyped it up so much, little did I know that the PS2 version was more playable than PC lmao.
I was still bummed that the PS2 didn't have a Bugatti and damage models though, that was my dream car back then and I loved damage models in games.

That version is awful lol, the cars look like they were designed on a 1970s computers. The PSP version is great though.

the best part of this game in the ps2 version is that it controls exactly like in most wanted and carbon...the same gameplay...the 360/ps3 version has a gameplay that i really do not like...and untill today, there are no need for speed game that controles as good as mw, carbon and undercover ps2 version...
try PSP version its also amazing

To be fairly honest, the PS2 and Wii versions of Undercover are way better than the PC.
I'm not going to lie I like undercover on ps2, I still have the disk😂
NFS games were confusing after Underground 2. MW had the cop pursuits but no drifting. Carbon had some new features and brought back drifting but ugly bodykit selection for the custom ones and no drag racing. Then they gave us this wonderful copy n paste of the two previous games with hardly any passion.
The cars popping up in front of you is the only bug that isn't fun.
