I personally like the line "i wish uncle sam would give a damn about the man whose collars blue" but was I the only one surprised to hear it in a country song? I'm used to country being all "Patriotic 100%!" and Uncle Sam's kind of a big patriotic symbol. I was happy to hear the line, juts surprised.

The point is that he made it on his own (without the help of Uncle Sam). The government often doesn't reward the hard working blue collar men and women that make this country great.
I can respect what you say here, I see alot of comments with people saying.. if you aint a southerner you aint country.. or just because you live in the city now, even if it wasnt all your life, you aint country. I was born in a small town, my family all come from small towns, and I was raised with the small town mentallity, even after moveing to the city, we never changed. Work was in the city, and our town was too far from all of them with work.

2024.. I saw Eric Church right after this album came out in a little bar in Wichita Kansas and it was one of the best performances I've ever seen. I was right in front of the stage and everyone was singing along with the songs and having a blast.❤🎉
